Abstract

Phubbing is a common phenomenon in society and, at the same time, is considered inappropriate in social life. This study aims to determine whether social media addiction, boredom proneness, self-control, conformity, and demographic factors affect phubbing behavior. The sample in this study was 387 respondents consisting of active students of UIN Syarif Hidatyatullah Jakarta with probability sampling techniques with simple random sampling techniques. In this study, researchers used an adaptation of a phubbing measuring tool, namely the phubbing scale developed by Karadaǧ (2015), the Bergen Social Media Addiction Scale (BSMAS) developed by Andreassen et al. (2016), boredom proneness Scale-Sort Form (BPS -SF) developed by Vodanovich, Wallace and Kass (2005), self-control scale by Averill (1983), and adaptation conformity scale from measuring instrument developed by Myers (2010). This study indicates a significant influence between social media addiction, boredom proneness, self-control, conformity, and demographic factors on phubbing behavior by 28.7%, while other variables outside of this study influence 71.3%. In addition, three variables significantly influence phubbing behavior, namely social media addiction, self-control, and gender.

Abstract

As one of the psychological instruments that successfully provides an overview of the level of intelligence of children, the Wechsler Intelligence Scale For Children (WISC) test needs to be evaluated its validity with psychometric test procedures. The Wechsler Intelligence Scale For Children (WISC) test consists of 10 subtests in which each subtest has many diverse items. This study included 315 kindergarten students with an age range of 5-6 years. The data obtained from it is then analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis to test the validity of the construct. This study showed that the model had a good fit with a p-value of 0.066 and an entire subtest fit.

Quantitative analysis in this study using the JASP program. This study showed that the inventory has excellent and acceptable psychometric properties. The discrimination index of this inventory showed 0,420 – 0,842, the Goodness of fit criteria showed that CFI, TLI, GFI, and RMSEA with good and acceptable. This inventory has a good reliability coefficient of 0,778 – 0,907. This inventory has acceptable psychometric properties to use as an interest assessment tool

Abstract

Self-regulated learning plays an essential role in achieving better academic achievement goals. This study aims to empirically examine how adversity quotient predicts self-regulated learning in senior high school students in Betun East Nusa Tenggara using a linear regression analysis technique of 120 participants selected based on purposive sampling. Measurements were made using 22 items of the adversity quotient scale (Cronbach’s α = 0.83) and 21 items of the self-regulated learning scale (Cronbach’s α = 0.95). The results showed a regression coefficient (t = 5.237) with a significance level p = 0.000 (p < 0.01), which mean that the adversity quotient can predict the self-regulated learning of senior high school students with an effective contribution of 21.5 per cent

Abstract

An environment with a high crime will potentially affect student aggression. One way to reduce aggressiveness is to instil religious values through learning at school. However, religious learning in schools is still relatively minimal. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between religiosity and student aggressiveness. The population in this study was 214 students, with a sample of 60 students from SMA X in Banjarmasin. The sample in this study was taken by probability sampling technique. The data collection instrument uses a Likert model scale, and data analysis uses Product Moment correlation with the help of SPSS for window 21. Based on the calculation results, it is known that there is a significant negative correlation (-0.451) between religiosity and aggressiveness, so that the higher the student's religiosity, the lower the aggressiveness: students or vice versa.
