Abstract

"Islamic State versus National State" was a heated political issue throughout the 1950s that created highly tense and dividing debates among Indonesia's political communities. President Soekarno, a leading proponent of National State, raised this issue for the first time in his speech in Amuntai on January 27th, 1953. The present paper contends that this speech was crucial for the political discourse contestations that followed between the religiously-neutral Nasionalist camp and the Islamic camp. The former argued against the latter's idea of building an Islamic state in Indonesia and proposed instead, a secular state that guarantees the right of its citizens to observe their religious teachings. The value of Soekarno's speech could be seen from reactions it generated from the supporters of Islamic State who called it a smear campaign and a doctrine dangerous to their struggle to erect an Islamic state in Indonesia.

Abstract

This article examines the treasures of the Arabic Malay books (Kitab Jawi) which have a wealth of Malay local wisdom. There are three important aspects of the contents of the Malay books discussed in this article, namely: (1) uruf and Malay local wisdom; (2) the principle of Malay local wisdom formula and (3) proof of Kitab Jawi as Malay local wisdom that can be promoted at this time. The results of this study confirm several things. First, the awareness of the world community about local wisdom belonging to the community of the non-European may be filled by expressing the concept of local wisdom based on Islamic knowledge. Secondly, the constructs and formulas of Malay local wisdom are indeed rather unique because they are the result of the sentiment between Islam and Malay thought. Third, Kitab Jawi is indeed the most important product of local Malay Islamic wisdom. This can be seen in terms of the formation of Jawi writings and the constructs of science that were awakened by previous Malay scholars. Artikel ini mengkaji khazanah kitab-kitab Arab Melayu (Kitab Jawi) yang memiliki kekayaan akan kearifan lokal Melayu. Ada tiga aspek penting kandungan kitab-kitan Melayu yang dibahas dalam artikel ini, yaitu :  (1) uruf dan kearifan lokal Melayu; (2) asas formula kearifan lokal Melayu dan (3) pembuktian kitab jawi sebagai kearifan lokal Melayu yang bisa dipromisikan di masa ini. Hasil kajian ini menegaskan beberapa hal. Pertama, kesadaran masyarakat dunia tentang kearifan lokal milik masyarakat peribumi bukan Eropa boleh diisi dengan mengemukakan konsep kearifan lokal berasaskan ilmu melayu Islam. Kedua, konstruk dan formula kearifan lokal Melayu memang agak unik kerana merupakan hasil sentesis antara Islam dengan pemikiran Melayu. Ketiga, kitab jawi memang merupakan produk kearifan lokal Melayu Islam yang terpenting. Ini dapat dilihat dari segi pembentukan tulisan jawi dan konstruk ilmu yang dibangunkan oleh ulama melayu masa silam.

Abstract

Gerakan formalisasi syari?at Islam yang marak di Indonesia pasca Orde Baru telah berhasil mengambil manfaat dari berkembangnya wacana peneguhan identiti lokal di era Otonomi Daerah. Salah satu dari keberhasilan gerakan ini adalah terbitnya berbagai Perda bernuansa syari'at Islam di berbagai daerah di Indonesia. Salah satu daerah yang menunjukan kecenderungan seperti itu adalah Kalimantan Selatan. Di daerah ini, titik tolak berkembangnya wacana peneguhan identitas lokal adalah dampak negatif budaya global yang bersinergi dengan totalitarianisme konstruk negara bangsa. Oleh karena itu, ketika karakter khas yang dikembangkan oleh gerakan Islamisme adalah suatu ideologi perlawanan (counter-ideology) terhadap berbagai faham modenisme dan sekularisme, maka gerakan ini mampu berkelindan dengan wacana peneguhan identitas lokal yang juga mengembangkan suatu upaya perlawanan terhadap konstruk negara-bangsa yang cenderung bersifat totalitarianisme ala Orde Baru. Kajian ini memberikan kerangka kerja alternatif dalam memahami identitas etnik Banjar dan politik identitasnya dari beberapa kajian sebelumnya yang cenderung menekankan unsur-unsur primordialisme. Kajian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan suatu pemahaman tambahan tentang politik identitas Islam di Indonesia pasca Orde Baru.

Abstract

Jihad is often identified with violence. The destruction of objects that are claimed to be un-Islamic is frequently become the target of jihad by some Islamic groups. As a result, Islam is often accused of being a religion of violence and terrorism. GEMA Pembebasan is a Student movement that aspires to the establishment of Islamic State in Indonesia. The GEMA jihad model is fighting against the unbeliever. In this case, GEMA is not interpreted Jihad as a learning jihad, political jihad, economic jihad, and so on. The GEMA Liberation jihad model keeps the dark sides of radicalism that threaten the socio-cultural of Indonesia. GEMA Liberation Jihad impacts on the frequency of Islam being accused as a radical religion and terror. Jihad sering diidentifikasi sebagai tindakan kekerasan. Penghancuran benda-benda yang diklaim tidak islami juga tidak jarang menjadi sasaran jihad di jalan Allah oleh beberapa kelompok Islam. Akibatnya, Islam sering dituduh sebagai agama kekerasan dan terorisme. GEMA (Gerakan Mahasiswa) Pembebasan adalah gerakan mahasiswa yang bercita-cita untuk pembentukan Negara Islam di Indonesia. Model jihad GEMA ini hanya melawan kaum kafir. Jihad tidak diartikan sebagai jihad dalam menuntut ilmu, jihad dalam politik, jihad dalam ekonomi, dan sebagainya. Model jihad Pembebasan GEMA menyelamatkan sisi gelap radikalisme yang mengancam sosio-budaya Indonesia. Implikasi jihad Pembebasan GEMA berdampak pada frekuensi Islam dituduh sebagai agama dan teror radikal.

Abstract

The high divorce rate in Indonesia sometimes result with positive and negative trends. Positive trend meant the rise of women to defend their rights as a wife that is often abused by her husband so divorce is the best solutions and alternatives. Trend downside besides destroying a family structure also carries a psychological impact, especially children in addition to great effect in socio-civic life. Legal divorce just look at issues from both parties (husband and wife) only, while the other family members in this case the child is not involved. Though the realm of the family consisting of a husband and wife and children. Child has a fundamental right within the family and also have the right to intervene to prevent his parents' divorce because he was the main victim of the divorce itself. Required a special advocate to defend the interests and rights of the child in his parents' divorce given the level of skill in the legal act has not been adequate. In this case the role and functions of the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) is necessary in order to fulfill these rights.

The existence of mawali can reflect th faimess. Kalalal is a condition *hen a person passes away without leaving any descendent, that is anl direct descendent. either son or daughter.

Abstract

Islamisasi Banjarmasin menghasilkan identitas baru pada etnis Dayak Islam sebagai Melayu sekaligus menjadi Banjar,[1] dan demikian pula etnis lainnya seperti; Jawa, Melayu, Bugis-Makassar serta Wajo, khususnya mereka yang berafiliasi, bercampur dan berada dalam suzerinitas Kesultanan Banjar. Suku-suku bangsa ini menghasilkan generasi campuran (mixing generation) karena perkawinan, yang juga menjadi Banjar. Berbagai etnis ini disatukan oleh transformasi dan transkulturasi religiusitas secara genius dari kepercayaan dan budaya Kaharingan-Balian, Hindu-Budha kepada agama Islam dan menjadi berbudaya Islam. Mereka memiliki bahasa Melayu Banjar sebagai Lingua-Franca, sekaligus sebagai bahasa pemersatu.[1]Kenyataan ini ditandai dengan alur cerita dan kemiripan Naskah-Naskah Hikayat yang dianggap bercorak Melayu, sehingga Hikayat Banjar dan Tutur Candi, memiliki genre yang senada dengan Hikayat Hang Tuah, Hikayat Raja Pasai, Sulalat al-Salatin (Sejarah Melayu), Hikayat Aceh, Cerita Asal Bangsa Jin dan Segala Dewa-Dewa, Salasilah Kutai, yang semuanya menampilkan aspek bahasa Melayu; bahasa sastra, politik dan hukum serta bahasa komunikasi. Abstract

This paper explores the life stories of Sumambing Kandangan, Hulu Sungai Selatan. Stories of life Sumambing in this paper are grouped into eschew attitude in the sense of guilt and shame, simple and silly, and not ill-natured. Values of real stories of Sumambing are: (1) Acts Sumambing humor is a story of resistance to become a porno movie urang Banjar stigma; (2)patienty; (3) naughtiness does not have to be faced with anger because the anger that is the the goal naughties; (4) recognize the error. Errors should not be hidden but the climb will show greatness of the soul; and (5) resistance to general public attitudes. Sumambing show the attitude of the people that society in general does not always have to be a precedent and followed.

Abstract

This article describes the work of K.H. Husin Qadri and K.H. Ja'far Sabran; twoproductive scholarswho wrote manyreligious literatures related to monotheism, sharia, morals, deedsand prayers.  K.H. Husin Kadri,a famous writer in his time, had  a brilliant idea to write  a book contained of  collection of prayers al-Ma'sturat  from Al-Quran and Hadith.  Althoughhe did not include the references of  prayers and quotation used in his book,  the Book ofSenjata Mukmin was devotedto students community and Martapura residents  who have understood, and memorizedthe verses or hadith  in that book.  K.H. Husin Kadri  also included  a material of monotheism  which described the explanation of  twentycharacteristics.  The Book of Risalah Doawas composedwithmodel and format designed by the editors to make it different from other people's work, accompanied by interesting information quoted from credible sources. This book was completed withnumber of verses and chapters, the source of hadith?squotations and sayings  of scholarsfrom other books.

Abstract

This study focusedon the spirituality values in paintingsof Amang Rahman Jubair, particularly from the perspective of the sufi aesthetics. Amang Rahman (1931-2001) was an Indonesian painter which has a deeply awareness of God's presence, and have a concept of art which he called Jamal, Kamal and Jalal?embodied by the sweat, blood and tears, which means sacrifice, devotion and love to the Creator and His creatures. Forms of this study is a qualitative field research by using descriptive analytical method and approach of Sufi Aesthetics. The sources is the family and closest-friends of Amang Rahman, a few paintings and journalistic articles and Indonesian art critics writings of his works. This study suggests that Amang Rahman is a sufi in a modern world. Experiences and attitudes totality of his life proving his devotion to both the art and life itself intact. In the works of his art reflected awareness of space and the cosmos that represents nature imajinal ('alam al-khayal), traditions and symbols of Sufism.
