Abstract

This research was aimed to determine the effect of Moringa leaf solution on the production performance of laying quail (Coturnix-coturnix japonica).  The livestock used in this research are 100 quails with the age of 35 day and average body weight 125,93 ± 3,056 g. The rations used were commercial period rations layer and drinking water mixed with Moringa leaf solution. The research design used was the Completely Randomized Designed with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments given in this research are R0: drinking water without Moringa leaf solution, R1: drinking water + 5% of Moringa leaf solution, R2: drinking water + 10% Moringa leaf solution, R3: drinking water + 15% of Moringa leaf solution. The data obtained were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The variables observed in this study were ration consumption, egg production, egg weight, egg mass production, ration conversion and mortality. Giving of Moringa leaf solution in quail did not significantly affect the ration and egg production, but it gave the effect on ration consumption, egg weight and egg mass production. Giving 5% of Moringa leaf solution can increase ration consumption, egg production, and improve the ration conversion and 0% mortality. Giving 15% Moringa leaf solution can increase the weight of the egg. Keywords: production performance, quail, Moringa leaf solution

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the use of probiotics Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium sp on feed consumption and Hen Day Production (HDP), layer was infected with Escherichia coli. About 120 layers at 25 weeks of age were randomized into six treatments. The treatment consisted of factors a (infection and non-infection Escherichia coli) and factor b (basal feed, AGP and probiotics). The results of the study gave probiotics an effect (p <0.05) on feed consumption and HDP. The highest feed consumption was found in the treatment of infectious probiotics is 114,7g and the highest HDP was treated with non-infectious probiotics is 98,6%. Infection factors have an effect (p <0.05) on HDP but have no effect (p> 0.05) on feed consumption. There was interaction between probiotic and infection factors (p <0.05) on HDP but there was no interaction (p> 0.05) between probiotic and infection factors on feed consumption. It could be concluded that the administration of probiotics can produce good production performance and high profitsKeywords: Production, infection, probiotic, interactions

Abstract

Urine goat fermentented can be used as organic fertilizers element hara on the ground For the agricultural crops and forage. Theof this study todetermine dosage of fermented goat urine onnumber of tillers, plant heightproduction of fresh dry matter,content of Phosphor and potassium on different forages (Pennisetum purpureum schumach), (Setaria sphacelata)and (Brachiaria brizantha). Experimental design usedfactorial with two factors, the first factor wasdose of fermented goat urine (liters /ha) composed of P0 = 0/ha,P1 = 10/ha, P2 = 15/haand P3 = 20/ha and the second factor was forages composed of R1 Pennisetum purpureum schumach, R2 Setaria sphacelataand R3 Brachiaria brizanta. The results showed that dosage of fermented goat urine and species of forage and interaction had significant effect (P<0.05) on number of tillers, plant height, fresh and dry weight production, phosphorus and potassium of plant.Increasing dosage, dosage fermented goat urine.Increase plantheight, fresh weight, dry weight production while, growth of Pennisetum purpureum schumach was higher than Brachiaria brizantha and Setaria sphacelata. The optimum dosage fermented goat urine on Pennisetum purpureum schumach was 20 liters/ha while on Brachiaria brizantha and Setaria sphacelata was 15 liters/ha. It is concluded that usage increase growth of forages and the best combination show on Pennisetum purpureum schumach with dosage at 20 liters /ha.Keywords: Forages, Urine goat fermented,  productivity.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji level yang tepat pemberian kombinasi tepung kulit buah manggis dan tepung kunyit pada ransum terhadap persentase organ dalam itik Cihateup. Penelitian menggunakan 84 ekor DOD itik Cihateup berjenis kelamin jantan yang dikelompokkan secara acak kedalam 7 kelompok perlakuan pakan sebagai berikut: ransum basal saja sebagai kontrol negative (R0); 0,5% TKBM+ 0,5% TK (R1); 1,0% TKBM+ 1,0% TK (R2); 1,5% TKBM+ 1,5% TK (R3); 2,0% TKBM+ 2,0% TK (R4); 2,5% TKBM + 2,5% TK (R5) dan kontrol positif yang mengandung basitrasin 50 ppm (R6). Penelitian dirancang menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap, data dianalisis variansi dan apabila terdapat perbedaan yang nyata akan dilanjutkan menggunakan metode DMRT. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa level kombinasi tepung kulit buah manggis dan tepung kunyit berpengaruh nyata (P<0.05) terhadap persentase organ dalam (hati, gizzard, limfa dan panjang usus) sementara pada parameter lainnya (proventrikulus, pancreas, bobot usus, ginjal dan jantung) tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0.05). Penggunaan TKBM dan TK pada ransum itik Cihateup memiliki kecenderungan semakin meningkat seiring bertambahnya dosis. Meskipun demikian, penggunaan pada dosis tinggi perlu dibatasi karena dapat mengakibatkan terjadinya akumulasi toksik pada organ pencernaan sehingga dapat mengurangi karakteristik organ pencernaan. Penggunaan kombinasi tepung kulit buah manggis dan tepung kunyit pada level sedang (1.5%) dapat direkomendasikan sebagai feed additive untuk memperbaiki karakteristik organ dalam itik Cihateup dan ternak unggas lainnya.

Abstract

Tingkat pertumbuhan sapi di Provinsi Kepulauan Riau tergolong rendah. Hal ini dikarenakan pakan yang diberikan kurang berkualitas. Produktivitas dapat ditingkatkan dengan pemberian pakan tambahan berupa pelepah kelapa sawit. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pakan pelepah kelapa sawit terhadap produktivitas sapi dan mengetahui pengaruh pemberian Pupuk Organik Cair dari urin sapi terhadap produksi tanaman kelapa sawit. Penelitian dilakukan di Desa Malang Rapat, Kecamatan Gunung Kijang, Kabupaten Bintan pada bulan Februari - Desember 2017. Materi yang digunakan yakni 12 ekor sapi bali bunting umur kebuntingan 6-8 bulan, rumput lapang, bioplus, pelepah daun kelapa sawit, 20 pohon kelapa sawit dan POC dari urin sapi. Pemberian pakan sapi dibagi dalam dua perlakuan, yaitu  (P1) : rumput lapang dan bioplus, (P2) : P1 + dedak + pelepah daun kelapa sawit yang dicacah. Sedangkan perlakuan pada urin sapi pada tanaman kelapa sawit juga dibagi dalam 2 perlakuan yakni P0 : tanpa POC dan P1 : dengan POC. Pengamatan dilakukan terhadap bobot badan harian sapi, bobot anakan, waktu birahi kembali serta produksi tanaman kelapa sawit. Data dianalisis dengan uji independent sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan bobot badan harian (pbbh) sapi pada perlakuan pemberian pakan P1 lebih rendah dibanding P2 (0,28 < 0,68 kg/ekor/hari). Rataan bobot lahir anakan sapi yang dilahirkan pada perlakuan P2 sebesar 17 kg sedangkan pada perlakuan P1 hanya sebesar 12 kg. Birahi kembali menjadi lebih cepat yakni 1 bulan pada perlakuan P2. Pemberian POC pada tanaman kelapa sawit dapat meningkatkan produksi buah sawit segar sekitar 28,29% atau sebesar 25,8 kg/pohon, sedangkan pada tanaman kelapa sawit tanpa pemberian POC produksinya hanya sebesar 7,3 kg/pohon. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian pakan pelepah sawit dapat meningkatkan pbbh sapi dan bobot anakan sapi serta memperpendek masa birahi kembali, sedangkan pemberian POC berupa urin sapi pada tanaman kelapa sawit dapat meningkatkan produksi kelapa sawit sawit.

Abstract

Egg quality can be determined by measuring exterior quality includes egg shape, weight, while interior includes haugh unit (HU) value, yolk and egg albumen. This research aims to assess the potential of moringa leaf solution as an effort to improve the quality of quail eggs. This research was conducted from December 2017 to January 2018. The research was conducted at Badrupuyuh Farm Kp. Sukajaya RT 01/02 Ciomas Bogor Regency. The livestock that used in this research are 100 quails with age 35 day and average weight 125,93 ± 3,056 g. The feed that been used is a layered commercial and drinking water that mixed with Moringa leaf solution. The research design that been used was Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with 4 treatments and 5 replications. Treatment given in this research is R0: Drinking water without Moringa leaf, R1: 5% of moringa leaf solution, R2: 10% of moringa leaf solution, R3: 15% of moringa leaf solution. The data obtained were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). If it shows significant difference (P <0.05) or very significant different (P <0.01) then we will test it again with Duncan test. The variables observed in this study are egg index, weight of shell, thick of shell, yolk color and haugh unit. The application of moringa leaves solution up to 10% can increase the quail egg yolk color but has no significant effect on the egg index, the weight of the shell, the thickness of the shell and the haugh unit.Keywords: egg quality, quail, Moringa leaf solution

Abstract

Tomato (lycopersicon esculentum) is one of Indonesia's local fruits that contain lots of vitamin C and lycopene. Tofu waste is a plant commonly used as an alternative feed to reduce the cost of large feeds. The aims of this research is to find out how far the addition of tomato flour and tofu waste has an influence on the external quality of quail eggs (Coturnix coturnix japanica). The material used in this research was 160 quails, aged 35 weeks with the treatment given : P0 100% control food; P1: 95% control food + 2.5% tomato flour and 2.5% tofu waste; P2: 90% control food + 5% tomato flour and 5% tofu waste; P3: 85% control food + 7.5% tomato flour and 7.5% tofu waste. The design used was Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications with each treatment filled with 13 chickens so that there were 160 quails, then continued with Duncan's multiple range test. Variables observed during the study included egg index, shell thickness and egg weight. The results showed that giving tomato flour and tofu waste to quail feed did not affect the real results on the external quality of quail eggs (egg weight, shell thickness and egg index).Key words : external quality of quail egg, tomato flour, tofu waste

Abstract

The quail is one kind of poultries that can give the distribution of society interests in case of eggs providing.  There are kinds of research that related to feed aspect, one of them is the way to increase the quality of feed by adding tofu waste and tomato flour on commercial feed. The aim of this research is to review the influences of giving the tofu waste and tofu tomato flour on commercial feed toward quail performance (cortunix cortunix japonica) in layer period.  Complete randomized design with used by the following treatment P0 (Provision of commercial feed without tofu and tomato flour), P1 (Provision of commercial food with 2.5% tofu dregs and 2.5% tomato flour), P2 (Provision of commercial food with 5% dregs of tofu and 5% tomato flour and P3 (giving commercial food with 7.5% tofu waste and 7.5% tomato flour).The treatment was conducted to quail aged 35 days until 67 days old. The feed and drink was given by adlibitium (always available). Giving tofu waste and tomato flour does not affect the feed consumption, egg’s weight, feed convertion, depletion, and the production of quail’s egg in layer period.Key words : Quail performance of layer period, tofu waste, tomato flour,  commercial feed

Abstract

The needs for animal protein increase significantly as the number and prosperity level of people increase. Ducks are water poultry that can be used to supply meat and eggs to fulfill people need for protein.    Ducks are the second most important egg producers after chickens.  In Indonesia, duck eggs share about 30-40% of total egg supply (Suharno 2002).  This study was aimed at assessing the production performance of male local ducks fed torch ginger flower (Etlingera elatior) solution included in commercial ration.  Male local ducks aged 2 weeks with average initial body weight of 450 g were used.  Commercial feed was mixed with torch ginger flower solution.  A completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 3 replicates was used.  Treatments consisted of four levels of torch ginger flower solution, namely 0, 2.5, 5.0, and 7.5%.  Data were subjected to an analysis of variance and measurements were taken on feed intake, body weight gain, feed conversion, and mortality rate.  Results showed that no significant differences (P>0.05) were found in all parameters measured.  The average feed intake was 4037.67±205.748 g, body weight gain was 1034.79±129.14 g/head, and feed conversion was 3.94±0.45.  The mortality rate was found to be 0% indicating no bird was found died in all treatment groups. Provision of commercial feed with a mixture of a solution of interest ginger flower is not able to improve the performance of male local ducks.Key words: animal protein, water poultry, feed intake, body weight gain, feed conversion.

Abstract

Pengeringbekuan merupakan salah satu teknologi pilihan dalam pengawetan sel dan telah diaplikasikan secara luas termasuk sel spermatozoa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk pelihat perubahan morfometri dan integritas inti kepala spermatozoa sapi pasca liofilisasi dengan waktu inkubasi yang berbeda. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan rancangan acak faktorial 2 faktor, faktor pertama: sumber semen (semen segar tanpa liofilisasi, semen segar liofilisasi dan semen beku liofilisasi) dan faktor kedua: lama inkubasi (0, 3 dan 6 jam). Uji ANOVA dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan bila terdapat perbedaan nyata atau sangat nyata (SPSS 16). Peubah yang diamati: morfometri sperma (panjang, lebar dan luas kepala spermatozoa) dan integritas spermatozoa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rataan morfometri spermatozoa segar: panjang (9.29 μm), lebar (4.78 μm) dan luas kepala spermatozoa (36.59 μm2) secara signifikan mengecil (P<0.05) setelah diikubasi selama 3 jam yaitu panjang (9.10 μm), lebar (4.72 μm) dan luas kepala spermatozoa (35.72 μm2). Pada inkubasi 6 jam menunjukkan perbedaan tidak nyata (P>0.05) terhadap panjang (9.24 μm), lebar (4.73 μm) dan luas kepala spermatozoa (35.89 μm2). Sperma segar dan beku yang diliofilisasi dan diinkubasi selama 3 dan 6 jam menunjukkan morfometri yang tidak berbeda nyata (P>0.05). Data inimenunjukkan bahwa ada upaya sperma mempertahankan diri pada lingkungan baru selama 3 jam dan menjadi normal kembali ukurannya pada inkubasi selama 6 jam. Integritas inti kepala spermatozoa tidak berbeda nyata (P>0.05) pada inkubasi 0, 3 dan 6 jam. Integritas inti sperma segar yang diliofilisasi menunjukkan tidak berbeda nyata (P>0.05) pada inkubasi 3 jam, namun berbeda nyata (P<0.05) pada inkubasi 6 jam. Integritas inti sperma beku yang diliofilisasi setelah diinkubasi selama 6 jam mengalami penurunan drastis (P<0.05) yaitu 42% intak. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah integritas inti sperma segar tanpa liofilisasi stabil setelah diinkubasi selama 6 jam, sementara sperma segar dan beku yang diliofilisasi mengalami penurunan pada integritas inti.
