Abstract

The waste problem was one of the priorities of the local government. The waste sorting business started from the beginning, but the management and reprocessing of waste was a separate homework from the Environment Agency. The Untirta Community Service Team offered the processing of organik waste into Liquid Organik Fertilizer (POC) through a fermentation process with the used of EM4. The fermentation process for 7-15 days produced POC which has essential nutrients needed by plants. Giving 1:1 POC to plants increased more fruit and increased color brightness in ornamental plants. Socialization and training activities were carried out in 2 farmer groups in Pandeglang Regency. Direct practice of making POCs and the team giving POCs to participants so that they can be applied directly in their respective places. Abstract

Child-friendly education is an important program that provides children from various socio-cultural and ethnic backgrounds with safe, comfortable, and nonviolent learning activities at the family, school, and community.  This community service-based article aims to describe (1) the fundamental reasons for revitalizing child-friendly education and (2) the critical principles and elements that allow children to develop their potential in the digital age fully. This program used a dialogic approach to deliver the topic under discussion, involving twenty participants, including parents and teenagers, in Mlese, Klaten Regency, Central Java Province, Indonesia. The dialogic interaction takes the form of (1) presenting material related to child-friendly education in the digital age, (2) investigating problems in small groups based solely on subtopics, and (3) openly discussing solutions to such problems. The results of data analysis from this interactive dialogue affirmed that human-to-human oral interactions enable problem-solving. Children can develop essential values of honesty, dignity, respect, and safety when key ideas and components of child-friendly education are incorporated into their school, schools and community-based platforms.

Abstract

Nowadays the Koran is often seen as a sacred book that only regulates religious matters, neglecting messages from other aspects including scientific issues (science). Our group in the KKN program offered an activity carried out under the name Fun Science and Education for Kids to introduce the relationship between the Qur'an and natural phenomena around us. After making observations at the Khadijah TPA, 3 science experiments were designed for the TPA children, namely the process of rainbow occurrence, volcanic eruptions, and rain. The three experiments are linked to 3 verses in the Koran. The evaluation was carried out on the acceptance of science material and its link with the Koran by the participants. Of the 6 questions, the TPA children managed to give 5 correct answers. Khadijah TPA participants seemed to interact with enthusiasm and good comprehension.

Abstract

Business legality is one of the important things that becomes one of the foundations of legal certainty for Small and micro-scale enterprises. Many businesses are reluctant to register their business due to the complexity of the process. This phenomenon is the main problem in areas far away from the city. Pagelaran Village has various kinds of dry and wet-based food products that are widely traded and become local specialties, unfortunately, most of them are traded without a clear food label, and do not yet have business legality, SPP-IRT, and halal certificates. Mentoring activity is carried out using the interview method, filling the documents, and socializing various important matters related to business legal aspects. Based on the results of the mentoring activity, it can be seen that the mentoring process succeeded in achieving a 100% success rate for managing business legality, having food labels, and having SPP-IRT numbers. In addition, 50% of business actors are known to have obtained halal certificates for their products. This mentoring activity is expected to contribute to increasing the competitiveness of MSMEs in Indonesia.

Abstract

One important aspect seems to be ignored in developing halal tourism concept is existence of non-Muslims surrounding the halal tourist destinations across the Island of Lombok. Moreover, there is no single definition of the concept of halal tourism. This paper argues that it is important to include fellow Hindus communities in Lombok to avoid negative consequences of developing halal tourism. This research employs a qualitative model, using in-depth interviews, participant observations and documentation methods. Focuses on Hindus communities in two regencies of Lombok Island, West Lombok and the city of Mataram, where many holy sites of Hindu are located and have a long history of relationship with Islam. Results indicate that there is not enough socialization of the concept of halal tourism for Hindus fellows. Some of them have similar idea with their fellows in Bali in rejecting the concept of halal tourism because they believe that halal tourism will affected their traditions and practices. Meanwhile, other Hindus seem to have a neutral position, meaning that they do not really understand about the concept of halal tourism but willing to support it, as long as they still have freedom in expressing their religious traditions and practices. These relatively negative opinions from Hindus communities have to be considered seriously by all related parties in developing halal tourism in Lombok as challenges to re-evaluate the concept of halal tourism to prioritize the Islamic values of moderation rather than economic and ideological oriented, including the use of more acceptable term of “Muslim-friendly tourist destination”.
