Abstract

Research Aim: This study aims to develop an integrative model by examining the role of job satisfaction as a mediating mechanism in the relationship between compensation, Perceived Organizational Support (POS), and employee retention in travel agencies. Design/Methods/Approach: This research uses a quantitative descriptive approach. Data were collected from 128 travel agency employees in Kediri, East Java, and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling with the Partial Least Squares (PLS) method. Research Findings: The results show that compensation does not have a significant direct effect on employee retention, while POS has a positive and significant effect. Job satisfaction is proven to mediate the relationship between compensation, POS, and employee retention. Theoretical Contribution / Originality: This study contributes by highlighting job satisfaction as a key mediating variable and strengthening the social exchange theory perspective, emphasizing that perceived organizational support plays a more critical role than financial compensation in influencing employee retention. Practical/Policy Implications: Organizations should prioritize strengthening POS through supportive policies, fair treatment, and employee welfare. Enhancing job satisfaction should become a strategic focus to improve retention. Research Limitation: This study is limited to travel agencies in one region with a cross-sectional design, which may restrict generalizability. Future research should include broader sectors and longitudinal approaches.

Abstract

Research aim : This study aims to analyze the influence of Word of Mouth and Social Media Marketing on students' decisions in choosing a private university in Kediri, with Brand Image as a mediating variable. Design/Methods/Approach : This study uses a quantitative approach. The research sample was 75 first-semester students from three private universities in Kediri selected by purposive sampling technique. Data analysis used the Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling method. Research Finding : The results show that WOM and SMM have a positive and significant effect on Brand Image, which in turn has a strong influence on students' decisions. WOM has a small but significant direct effect, while SMM does not show a significant direct effect. However, both are proven to have a significant indirect effect through Brand Image. Theoretical contribution/Originality : The novelty of this study lies in the testing of an integrative model that combines WOM and SMM in a single Brand Image mediation framework in the context of higher education, as well as the finding that SMM does not have a direct effect on decisions, but rather works indirectly through the formation of brand image—a result that enriches previous literature that generally places SMM as a direct determinant of decisions. Practitioner/Policy implication : This study expands the application of Brand Equity Theory. Practically, private universities need to integrate WOM strategies and social media marketing to strengthen their brand image through authentic testimonials, alumni engagement, and interactive digital content. Research limitation : This study is limited by its relatively small sample size and geographic focus in the Kediri region, thus limiting the generalizability of the findings. Future research is recommended to use larger samples, a longitudinal approach, and comparisons across regions or types of universities to increase generalizability and depth of analysis.

Abstract

Research aim: To analyze the role of management functions in agricultural cooperatives (planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising) in increasing the economic income of farmers in Batu City.Design/Methods/Approach: This research uses quantitative method with an explanatory survey approach involving 120 farmer members of the cooperative in Batu City. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression after undergoing a series of classical assumption tests. Research Findings: The cooperative management function simultaneously has a significant impact on farmers' income (F=82.164; R²=0.742). Partially, the implementation function is the most dominant variable (β=489.560), followed by the planning function (β=312.450) and the supervision function (β=223.890), while the organizing function does not show a significant impact. Cooperative member farmers were recorded to have an income 66.8% higher (Rp 4,820,000/month) compared to non-member farmers. Theoretical Contribution/Originality: Enriches the literature on the effectiveness of agricultural cooperative management in the context of agrotourism and horticulture, and identifies the implementation function as the strongest determinant of farmers' income increase. These findings differ from previous studies that generally emphasize the planning function as the dominant factor.Practical Implications: Cooperative managers need to prioritize the optimization of implementation and planning functions in organizational management. The local government is recommended to provide management assistance and strengthen the institutional capacity of cooperatives sustainably. Research Limitations: The limited scope to the City of Batu, a model that can explain 74.2% of income variation, the use of a cross-sectional design that cannot capture long-term changes, and measurements based on respondents' perceptions, which may contain subjective bias.

Abstract

Research aim: This study aims to analyze the influence of attitudes and perceptions of Hindu consumers on songket purchase decisions for religious ceremonial purposes in Denpasar City, both partially and simultaneously. Design/Methods/Approach: This study employs a quantitative approach with an associative–causal research design. Data were collected through structured questionnaires from 100 respondents selected using purposive sampling and analyzed using multiple linear regression, supported by classical assumption tests and hypothesis testing. Research Finding: The results indicate that consumer attitudes have a positive and significant effect on songket purchase decisions, while consumer perceptions have a positive but insignificant effect. Simultaneously, attitudes and perceptions exert a positive and significant influence on purchase decisions, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.550. Theoretical contribution/Originality: This study contributes to consumer behavior literature by enriching empirical evidence in the context of cultural and religious products, emphasizing attitudes as the dominant determinant and perceptions as a supporting factor in value-based purchase decision-making. Practitioner/Policy implication: The findings provide practical insights for business actors, artisans, and relevant stakeholders to strengthen positive consumer attitudes through the preservation and communication of the aesthetic, philosophical, and religious values of Balinese songket, as well as to enhance information quality and promotional strategies to foster favorable consumer perceptions. Research limitation: This study is limited by a relatively small sample size and the inclusion of only two independent variables. Future research is recommended to incorporate additional variables and expand the research scope to improve the generalizability of the findings.

Abstract

Research aim: This study aims to analyse the effect of the work environment and organisational culture on employee performance, with information technology proficiency as a moderating variable. Design/Methods/Approach: This study employed a survey method for data collection and used SEM-PLS for data analysis. Research Finding: The work environment and organisational culture have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Information technology proficiency moderates the relationship between organisational culture and employee performance; however, it does not moderate the relationship between the work environment and employee performance. Theoretical contribution/Originality: This study enhances the understanding of the influence of the work environment and organisational culture on employee performance and offers novelty by positioning information technology proficiency as a moderating variable in the relationship between organizational culture and employee performance within the context of government institutions, which remains relatively underexplored. Practitioner/Policy implication : Institutions need to improve the quality of the work environment, both physical and non-physical, while strengthening organizational cultural values. Enhancing employees’ proficiency in information technology is also essential to support the implementation of organizational culture within a digitally based work system. Research limitation : The research was conducted only at KPP Pratama Badung Utara; therefore, the findings cannot yet be generalized to other institutions.
