Abstract

ABSTRACTPest and natural enemy population in three different rice cultivation in Sukamandi RegionSome on limiting factors in rice production include the cultivation system and pest damage. To suppress the damage, several control techniques have been applied, such as technical culture. The aim of this study was to gain information on population and pest damage, as well as natural enemy population in three different rice cultivation systems. The study was arranged in Randomized Block Design with three treatment and 9 replications. The treatments were: 1) organic rice cultivation, 2) semi organic, and 3) farmer technique. The used rice variety was Inpari 30. The plot size was 6 m x 90 m. The variables observed included population and pest damage, natural enemy population, and rice yields. Thirthy two rice hills were observed randomly in diagonal direction, with 2 weeks interval from two weeks after transplanting until harvest. The data were analyzed by analysis of variance (Anova) and the difference among the treatments was evaluated with Duncan multiple area test at 5% level. The results showed that brown plant hoppers population on organic rice cultivation is lower than semi-organic rice cultivation and farmer technique, but there were no difference of natural enemy population among treatments. The lowest yield was obtained from the organic rice cultivation (2.67 t/ha).Keywords: Rice cultivation, Pests, Natural enemiesABSTRAKBeberapa faktor pembatas produksi padi diantaranya adalah cara budidaya dan adanya serangan hama. Untuk menekan serangan hama, beberapa teknik pengendalian telah diterapkan diantaranya adalah pengendalian secara kultur teknis (cara budidaya). Pada MT-2 tahun 2016, penelitian dengan tujuan mendapatkan informasi mengenai populasi dan serangan hama, serta populasi musuh alami pada tiga cara budidaya padi telah dilakukan di lahan kebun percobaan Balai Besar Penelitian Tanaman Padi Sukamandi. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan tiga cara budidaya dan diulang sebanyak sembilan kali. Adapun cara budidaya yang digunakan terdiri atas:1) budidaya padi organik; 2) semi organik; 3) cara petani. Varietas yang digunakan adalah Inpari 30. Ukuran plot 6 m x 90 m. Variabel yang diamati meliputi populasi dan tingkat serangan hama, populasi musuh alami, dan hasil panen. Pengamatan dilakukan secara langsung di pertanaman pada 32 rumpun sampel secara acak diagonal dengan interval dua minggu sekali mulai umur tanaman dua minggu setelah tanam sampai menjelang panen. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan analisis ragam (Anova) dan perbedaan antar perlakuan dievaluasi dengan uji wilayah berganda Duncan pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa populasi hama wereng coklat pada cara budidaya padi organik lebih rendah dibandingkan cara budidaya padi semi organik dan budidaya padi cara petani, tetapi tidak ada perbedaan populasi musuh alami pada cara budidaya padi organik, cara budidaya padi semi organik dan budidaya padi cara petani. Hasil panen terendah (2,67 t/ha) terlihat pada perlakuan budidaya padi organik.Kata Kunci: Budidaya padi, Hama, Musuh alami

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe diversity of butterflies’ family of Nymphalidae and Pieridae at Cirengganis area and Cikamal Savannah area of Pananjung Sanctuary of PangandaranThe research reported the diversity o.f butterflies of Nymphalidae and Pieridae Families at Cirengganis area and Cikamal Savannah area which located at Pananjung Sanctuary, Pangandaran. The experiment was conducted using visual encounter survey method. The butterflies were caught using sweeping technique. The butterflies were collected and identified. Abiotic factors such light intensity and temperature were measured during observation. The result showed that 13 species of nymphalidae family were identified whilst only 2 species were identified belongs to the family of Pieridae. Butterfly diversity index at Cirengganis and Cikamal Savannah categorized as moderate with value of 2.285647. Vegetation that interacted with the butterflies were Tectona grandis), Psychotria aurantiaca, and Melastoma malabathricum. Furthermore, light intensity and temperature at Cirengganis were detected at 12473.33 lux and 28.6oC, respectively. While at Cikamal Savannah, the light intensity was measured at 26900 lux and temperature reached 33.6oC.Keywords: Visual encounter survey, Abiotic factor, VegetationABSTRAKPenelitian ini melaporkan mengenai keanekaragaman Jenis Kupu-Kupu Famili Nymphalidae dan Pieridae di kawasan Cirengganis dan Padang Rumput Cikamal Cagar Alam Pananjung Pangandaran. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode Visual Encounter Survey (VES). Penangkapan kupu-kupu dilakukan dengan teknik sweeping. Kupu-kupu yang diperoleh dikoleksi dan diidentifikasi. Faktor abiotik seperti intensitas cahaya dan suhu diukur selama pengamatan. Serta diamati pula vegetasi sekitar lokasi pengamatan yang berinteraksi dengan kupu-kupu. Hasil pengamatan diperoleh total kupu-kupu famili Nymphalidae sebanyak 13 spesies dan kupu-kupu famili Pieridae sebanyak 2 spesies. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman kupu-kupu di kawasan Cirengganis dan Padang Rumput Cikamal tergolong kategori sedang yaitu 2,285647. Hasil vegetasi yang diketahui berinteraksi dengan kupu-kupu yaitu jati (Tectona grandis), ki kores (Psychotria aurantiaca), dan harendong (Melastoma malabathricum). Sementara rata-rata intensitas cahaya dan suhu di Cirengganis sebesar 12473,33 lux dan 28,6oC dan di Padang Rumput Cikamal sebesar 26900 lux dan 33,6oC.Kata Kunci: Visual Encounter Survey, Faktor abiotik, Vegetasi

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe Potency of Beauveria bassiana as a biological control agent of Spodoptera lituraThe attack of Spodoptera litura can result in the decrease of soybean yield, so that the soybean production cannot fulfill the demand of soybean. The objective of the study was to examine the potency of Beauveria bassiana as a biological control agent of Spodoptera litura. The research was conducted at the Pest Laboratory, Departement of Agrotechnology, UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung from January to March 2017. The research was carried out using Completely Randomized Design (RBD) with six treatments of B. bassiana spore density and four replications. The treatments were spore densities of 100 (control), 102, 104, 106, 108, and 1010/ml aquades that applied to the instar II of S. litura larvae. The advanced test used was Duncan's advanced test of 5%. The results showed that the B. bassiana density spore of 1010/ml aquades caused the highest S. litura larvae mortality of 82.50% and the lowest weight of food eaten by S. litura larvae of 0.79 g.Keywords: Biocontrol Agent, Beauveria bassiana, Spodoptera litura, SoybeanABSTRAKSerangan Spodoptera litura dapat menurunkan hasil tanaman kedelai, sehingga produksi tanaman kedelai belum bisa memenuhi permintaan kedelai di Indonesia. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menguji patogenitas Beauveria bassiana sebagai agens hayati pengendali Spodoptera litura. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Hama Jurusan Agroteknologi, UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung dari Januari sampai Maret 2017, menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan enam perlakuan kerapatan spora B. bassiana dan empat ulangan. Perlakuan tersebut adalah kerapatan spora 100 (kontrol), 102, 104, 106, 108, dan 1010/ml aquades yang diaplikasikan pada larva S. litura instar II. Uji lanjut yang digunakan adalah Uji lanjut Duncan taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kerapatan spora B. bassiana 1010 /ml aquades menyebabkan mortalitas larva S. litura sebesar 82,50% dan bobot pakan yang dimakan oleh larva S. litura paling rendah sebesar 0,79 g.Kata Kunci: Agens hayati, Beauveria bassiana, Spodoptera litura, Kedelai

Abstract

ABSTRACTDesigning of Rice Straw Chopper MachineAccording to observations conducted in the field, the potential of straw wastes in Ciparay, Bandung, West Java Indonesia reaches 10-12 tons / ha but its utilization has not been optimazed to this date. After harvested, the remaining unused straw is abandoned on the ground and is eventually burned. In the long run, this straw burning will be very disadvantageous to farmers, especially in terms of the environmental impacts on rice paddy including decreasing soil fertility, killing soil biota, damaging soil physical properties and wasting energy. One of alternatives to utilize rice straw able to provide added value by utilizing its waste as a material to make compost on the condition that the straw should br chopped into a size of 5-10 cm according to SNI standards. Therefore, a study on rice straw chopping technology based on the composting requirements is required. The goal of this study was to design a prototype of rice straw chopper with capacity of 200 kg/hour. The method used in this research was engineering method including requirement observation, design criteria, functional and structural design, figure design, technical analysis, prototyping of rice straw chopper, machine functional and performance test. The measurement results of rice straw characteristics showed that the average length, diameter, bulk density and moisture content of rice straw are 708 mm, 4 mm, 160.6 kg/m3 and 34.6% wet basis. This straw chopper engineering produced a prototype with a dimension of 1040 mm (length) x 1000 mm (height) x 465 mm (width) with a power source generator using 5.5 HP gasoline motor. The result of functional test of the straw chopper showed that the actual capacity of this straw chopper was 100.32 kg/hour.Keywords: compost, prototype, functionalABSTRAKPotensi limbah jerami yang ada di Kecamatan Ciparay Kabupaten Bandung berdasarkan pengamatan di lapangan mencapai 10 – 12 ton/ha yang hingga saat ini pemanfaatannya belum optimal. Setelah panen, sisa jerami yang tidak terpakai disimpan begitu saja di lahan yang pada akhirnya dibakar. Pembakaran jerami ini dalam jangka panjang akan sangat merugikan petani karena terutama berdampak negatif bagi lingkungan di lahan sawah yang meliputi penurunan kesuburan tanah, mematikan biota tanah, merusak sifat fisik tanah dan pemborosan energi. Salah satu cara pemanfaatan jerami padi yang dapat memberikan nilai tambah yaitu dengan memanfaatkan limbah jerami padi sebagai bahan untuk membuat kompos dengan syarat bahwa jerami tersebut sudah dalam keadaan tercacah dengan ukuran 5 – 10 cm sesuai standar SNI. Oleh sebab itu diperlukan suatu penelitian teknologi pencacahan jerami padi sesuai syarat pembuatan kompos. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah merancang bangun mesin protipe mesin pencacah jerami padi dengan kapasitas 200 kg/jam. Adapun metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode rekayasa (engineering) yang meliputi observasi kebutuhan, kriteria rancangan, rancangan fungsional, rancangan struktural, gambar desain, analisis teknik, pembuatan protipe mesin pencacah jerami padi, uji fungsional mesin dan uji kinerja mesin. Hasil pengkuran terhadap karakteristik jerami padi menunjukkan bahwa rata panjang, diameter, bulk density dan kadar air jerami padi masing-masing adalah 708 mm, 4 mm, 160 kg/m3 dan 34,6% basis basah. Hasil rekayasa mesin pencacah jerami mempunyai dimensi panjang 1040 mm, tinggi 1000 mm dan lebar 465 mm dengan sumber tenaga penggerak menggunkan motor bensin 5,5 HP. Hasil pengujian fungsional terhadap mesin pencacah jerami menunjukkan bahwa kapasitas aktual mesin penacacah jerami padi adalah 100,32 kg/jam, dengan panjang potongan < 5 cm.Kata Kunci : Kompos, Prototipe, Fungsional

Abstract

ABSTRACTVariety of Insect Pest on Asparagus Plant (Asparagus officinalis L.) in Agroduta Plant Cultivation Center Lembang West JavaAgroduta Plant Cultivation Center Lembang West Java is facing some constraints in increasing asparagus production; one of them is the presence of plant pest organisms. Asparagus is a subtropical plant rarely cultivated in Indonesia and may have different types of pests. Therefore, information on the presence and diversity of pests on asparagus planting is important to be assessed. This research aimed to study the diversity of insect pests on the land of asparagus plants in the Agroduta Cultivation Center Lembang, West Java. This study used survey methods where the collected data included the number and type of insects caught that the diversity index then were calculated. The samplings were using adhesive yellow trap and pitfall trap, carried out 6 times a week. The experiments were conducted on a land size of 12 x 6.5 m with an altitude of 1273 meters above sea level (masl). The results showed that the insects caught during the experiment were 7 insects, consisting of 17 families and 21 species, while the number of individual insects was 9.643. The index diversity of insects was categorized low because of the diversity index <1.Keywords: Asparagus, Diversity, Insect PestABSTRAKSentra Budidaya Tanaman Agroduta Lembang Jawa Barat menghadapi kendala dalam peningkatan produksi asparagus yaitu adanya gangguan organisme pengganggu tanaman tanaman (OPT). Asparagus merupakan tanaman subtropis yang jarang dibudidayakan di Indonesia dan kemungkinan memiliki perbedaan jenis OPT. Oleh karena itu informasi keberadaan dan keragaman hama pada tanaman asparagus perlu diketahui. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari keragaman serangga hama pada lahan tanaman asparagus di sentra budidaya tanaman Agroduta Lembang, Jawa Barat. Penelitian ini mengguanakan metode survey. Data yang dikumpulkan meliputi jumlah dan jenis serangga yang tertangkap yang kemudian dihitung indeks keragamannya. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan perangkap kuning berperekat (yellow sticky trap) dan perangkap jebakan (pitfall) dilakukan selama 6 kali pegamatan dalam setiap minggunya. Percobaan dilakukan pada luas lahan berukuran 12 x 6,5 m dengan ketinggian 1273 meter di atas permukaan laut (mdpl). Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa serangga yang tertangkap selama percobaan sebanyak 7 ordo serangga, yang terdiri atas 17 famili dan 21 spesies, jumlah individidu serangga sebanyak 9.643. Indeks keragaman serangga dikatagorikan rendah karena indeks keragaman <1.Kata Kunci: Asparagus, Keragaman, Serangga Hama

Abstract

ABSTRACTEffectiveness trial of pheromone traps against Oryctes rhinoceros L. and its damage intensity on coconut tree at Batulahat Village, Nusaniwe District, Ambon IslandThe research aimed to determine the efficacy of traps containing pheromone in catching the coconut pest, coconut rhinoceros beetle (Oryctes rhinoceros L.) and its effect on reducing the damage severity caused by the pest. The experiment was conducted by observing the damage intensity before treatment and continued with the efficacy testing of the traps containing pheromone (Ethyl 4-methyloctanoate) against the population of the coconut rhinoceros beetle. The damage intensity was measured following the traps treatment. The result demonstrated that the average of damage intensity before and after treatment were 13.33% and 9.61%, respectively. This indicated the effectiveness of traps in catching the coconut rhinoceros beetle. The number of O. rhinoceros caught during the experiment was analysed using quantitative analysis model. The highest number of coconut rhinoceros beetle caught was 9 bettles/2 months at traps containing pheromone. Whilst, the number of coconut rhinoceros beetle caught at traps containing pheromone with lamp demonstrated lower number of coconut rhinoceros beetle. Furthermore, the lower damage intensity at the experimental location was categorized as low. This was due to good agricultural practice implemented by the farmer.Keywords: Coconut, Pheromone, Damage intensityABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan perangkap feromon dalam memerangkap hama Oryctes rhinoceros L. dan pengaruhnya terhadap intensitas kerusakan yang disebabkan oleh hama tersebut. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menghitung Intensitas Kerusakan (IK) yang disebabkan oleh hama O. rhinoceros dan dilanjutkan dengan menguji efektivitas perangkap feromon (Ethyl 4-methyloctanoate) terhadap perkembangan populasi hama tersebut. Intensitas kerusakan dihitung dengan menggunakan formula IK untuk tanaman yang terserang dan yang tidak terserang O. rhinoceros sebelum dan sesudah aplikasi feromon. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rerata IK sebelum dan sesudah aplikasi feromon masing-masing sebesar 13,33% dan 9,61%. Terjadi penurunan IK karena efektivitas feromon dapat memerangkap hama O.rhinoceros. Jumlah tangkapan O. rhinoceros tiap perlakuan dianalisa dengan model analisis kuantitatif sederhana. Jumlah tangkapan O. rhinoceros terbanyak dengan rerata tangkapan 9 ekor/2 bulan atau sama dengan 4,75 ekor/bulan pada perangkap berferomon saja. Sementara perangkap feromon dan lampu menghasilkan jumlah tangkapan hama O. rhinoceros yang lebih rendah. Lebih lanjut, rerata IK hama O. rhinoceros di desa Latuhalat tergolong kategori ringan karena sistem kultur teknik dari petani setempat sudah dilakukan dengan baik sehingga areal pertanaman kelapa cukup terawat.Kata Kunci: Kelapa, Feromon, Intensitas kerusakan

Abstract

ABSTRACTAntagonism potency of secondary metabolites produced by endophytic bacteria in methanol against pathogenic fungi Ganoderma boninense Pat.The research aimed to determine the antifungal effect of secondary metabolites produced by endophytic bacteria of healthy root oil palm tree against the growth of Ganoderma boninense, the causal agent of basal stem rot disease on oil palm tree. Endophytic bacteria isolates (BEK5, BEK6, BEK7, BEK8, BEK9, BEK10 dan BEK11) were grown on ISP2 agar media for 14 days and extracted using methanol. Following extraction, the methanol was evaporated using rotary evaporator and the filtrat was sterilized using membrane filter 0.2 μm. The effect of the secondary metabolites against G. boninense was tested using agar well diffusion method. The observation on the colony growth and morphologicy of G. boninense mycelia were done at 7 days after treatment. The result demonstrated that all of the endophytic bacteria were able to produce seconday metablites that has antifungal effect on the growth of G. boninense. The highest growth inhibition was shown by secondary metabolites produced by BEK6 with inhibition of 22.89%. Furthermore, the secondary metabolites produced by all of the endophytic bacteria were caused morphological changes on the mycelia of G. boninense.Keywords; Antifungal, Inhibition, MalformationABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan antijamur metabolit sekunder yang dihasilkan oleh bakteri endofit asal akar tanaman kelapa sawit untuk menghambat pertumbuhan jamur patogen Ganoderma boninense, penyebab penyakit busuk pangkal batang pada tanaman kelapa sawit. Isolat-isolat bakteri endofit (BEK5, BEK6, BEK7, BEK8, BEK9, BEK10 dan BEK11) ditumbuhkan pada media ISP2 agar selama 14 hari dan kemudain diekstraksi dengan pelarut metanol. Metanol diuapkan menggunakan rotary evaporator dan filtrat yang dihasilkan disterilkan menggunakan membran filter berukuran 0,2 μm. Pengujian pengaruh senyawa metabolit sekunder terhadap pertumbuhan jamur G. boninense dilakukan dengan metode agar well diffusion. Pengamatan terhadap pertumbuhan koloni jamur G. boninense dan morfologi miselia G. boninense dilakukan pada 7 hari setelah perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan semua isolat bakteri endofit mengeluarkan senyawa metabolit sekunder yang dapat menghambat pertumbuhan jamur G. boninense. Penghambatan pertumbuhan koloni jamur G. boninense tertinggi sebesar 22,89% ditemukan pada perlakuan metabolit sekunder asal bakteri BEK6. Pengamatan terhadap morfologi jamur G. boninense menunjukkan bahwa senyawa metabolit sekunder yang dihasilkan oleh isolat-isolat bakteri endofit tersebut dapat menyebabkan perubahan morfologi miselia G. boninense.Kata kunci: Antifungal, Penghambatan, Malformasi

ABSTRACTThe effect of Zn and Cu micro-fertilizer and soil fertilizer on the development of Empoasca sp. in tea plantation areaFertilization has an important role for the entire process of metabolism and improves plant health. Tea plants are plants that require macro and micro nutrient inputs. The micro elements of Zn and Cu are needed for energy production, protein synthesis, formation of auxin hormones and increament of plant resistance to pest attack. This study aimed to determine the effect of Zn and Cu micro fertilizer and soil fertilizer on the development of Empoasca sp. The study was conducted from January to July 2017 at Gambung Experimental Station with an altitude of 1350 asl. The experiment was designed with Randomized Block Design (RBD) Factorial pattern with the following treatment arrangement: Factor A = 1) Without Micro Fertilizer, 2) Micro Fertilizer of Zn and Cu 200 g/ha/application, and 3) Zn and Cu 300 g/ha/application; Factor B = 1) Soil fertilizer of 100% recommended dosage, 2) Soil fertilizer of 75% recommended dosage, and 3) Soil fertilizer of 50% recommended dosage. All treatmnets were repeated three times. Application of micro fertilizers was carried out after six times of tea-leaf picking, while soil fertilizer was applied once at the beginning of the experiment. Observation parameters were population and attack intensity of Empoasca sp., as well as shoot production (kg/25 m2 plot size). The results showed that the application of fertilizers had an effect on the decrease of attack intensity and the population of Empoasca sp. in all treatments. Average attack intensity and population of Empoasca sp. at the end of the observation did not differ significantly of 31.64% and 2.55 Empoasca sp. per plant. Meanwhile, the highest total production of 36.56 kg/plot was obtained from the application of micro fertilizer Zn and Cu in the dosage of 200 g/ha/application at all doses of soil fertilizer, but there was no interaction between treatment factors.Keywords: Micro fertilizer, Soil fertilizer, Empoasca sp., Tea plantABSTRAKPemupukan memegang peranan penting untuk seluruh proses metabolisme dan meningkatkan kesehatan tanaman. Tanaman teh merupakan tanaman yang memerlukan input unsur hara makro dan mikro. Unsur mikro Zn dan Cu diperlukan tanaman untuk produksi energi, sintesis protein, pembentukan hormon auksin serta meningkatkan resistensi terhadap serangan organisme pangganggu tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dampak pemberian pupuk mikro Zn dan Cu serta pupuk tanah terhadap perkembangan Empoasca sp. Penelitian dilaksanakan dari bulan Januari hingga Juli 2017 di Kebun Percobaan Gambung dengan ketinggian 1.350 mdpl. Percobaan dirancang dengan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) pola Faktorial dengan susunan perlakuan sebagai berikut: Faktor A = 1) Tanpa Pupuk mikro, 2) Pupuk mikro Zn dan Cu 200 g/ha/aplikasi, dan 3) Pupuk mikro Zn dan Cu 300 g/ha/aplikasi; Faktor B = 1) Pupuk tanah 100% dosis anjuran, 2) Pupuk tanah 75% dosis anjuran, dan 3) Pupuk tanah 50% dosis anjuran. Perlakuan diulang sebanyak tiga kali ulangan. Aplikasi pupuk mikro dilaksanakan setelah pemetikan sebanyak enam kali, sedangkan pemberian pupuk tanah dilakukan satu kali diawal percobaan. Parameter pengamatan yaitu populasi, intensitas serangan Empoasca sp., dan produksi pucuk (kg/plot 25 m2). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pupuk berpengaruh terhadap penurunan intensitas serangan dan populasi Empoasca sp. pada seluruh perlakuan. Rata-rata intensitas serangan dan populasi Empoasca sp. pada akhir pengamatan tidak berbeda nyata sebesar 31,64% dan 2,55 ekor per tanaman. Sementara itu, total produksi tertinggi diperoleh dari aplikasi pupuk mikro Zn dan Cu dosis 200 g/ha/aplikasi pada semua dosis pupuk tanah yaitu sebesar 36,56 kg/plot, namun tidak terjadi interaksi antar faktor perlakuan.Kata Kunci: Pupuk mikro, Pupuk tanah, Empoasca sp., Tanaman teh
