Abstract

The need for raw materials for poultry rations has obstacles such as competing with human needs, relatively expensive prices and raw materials are still imported. Therefore, it is necessary to use alternative feed ingredients, one of which is by utilizing Yellow Pumpkin Skin. This study aims to determine the effect of giving fermented yellow pumpkin husk flour in rations on the growth of super free-range chickens aged 3-10 weeks and to find out at what level the administration of fermented yellow pumpkin husk waste flour affects the growth of super free-range chickens aged 3-10 weeks. The design used in this study was the Complete Random Design (RAL) which consisted of 5 treatments and 3 replicas. The treatment used was P0 = Chicken without fermented pumpkin peel flour, P1= Chickens given 3% fermented yellow pumpkin peel flour, P2= Chickens given fermented yellow pumpkin peel flour 6%, P3= Chickens given fermented yellow pumpkin peel flour 9% and P4= Chickens given fermented yellow pumpkin peel flour 12%. Based on the results of the study, the effect of giving fermented yellow pumpkin skin flour to super free-range chickens showed an unreal difference (P>0.05) on final body weight, weight gain, ration consumption and FCR. The use of fermented yellow pumpkin husk flour has the potential to be an alternative feed ingredient in the formulation of super free-range chicken rations, especially at the level of 12% which shows the lowest FCR value, which means better feed efficiency. The use of fermented yellow pumpkin husk flour at the level of 12% in super free-range chicken rations can be recommended as it results in the lowest FCR value (3.80) which indicates better feed use efficiency.

Abstract

The need for nutritious food products, especially food products of animal origin, is currently increasing. This is in line with increasing public awareness of the importance of animal protein for health. One of the commodities that can be developed is super free-range chicken. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of giving fermented kersen leaf flour in rations on the carcass of 10-week-old super free-range chickens and to find out what percentage of the level of fermented kersen leaf flour in the ration is able to give the best results to the carcass fragments of 10-week-old super free-range chickens. The strategy of providing local feed as a source of chicken feed is designed to utilize feed materials that are easily available and reduce the cost of purchasing feed materials, without affecting the productivity of super free-range chickens. Therefore, the way that can be done is to use alternative feed ingredients, namely kersen leaves which are widely available and easy to get. The Research Design used in this research is a Complete Random Design (RAL) consisting of 5 treatments and 3 replicas of K0 = Control ration without the addition of fermented kersen leaf flour. K1 = A ration containing 3% fermented kersen leaves. K2 = A ration containing 6% fermented kersen leaves. K3 = A ration containing 9% fermented kersen leaves. K4 = A ration containing 12 % fermented kersen leaves. From the results of the research that has been carried out, the administration of fermnerated kersen leaf flour in the ration of super free-range chickens has an unreal effect (P>0.05) on all observed variables (chest weight, thigh weight, back weight and super free-range chicken wing weight). Giving fermented kersen leaf flour at a level of 12% in rations can show the best results against the fragmentation of super free-range chicken carcasses.

Abstract

Fish is an important source of animal protein that is very popular with the Indonesian people, but its quality and freshness quickly decline after capture if not handled properly. This study aims to analyze the freshness of tuna (Euthynnus affinis) and salem (Scomber japonicus) sold in Parakanmuncang Traditional Market, Sumedang Regency, West Java, using the organoleptic test method. The assessment was conducted on five quality parameters, namely surface appearance, aroma, eyes, gills, and meat texture, with a score scale of 1-9. The results showed that salem fish had an organoleptic mean score of 7.8, indicating a very fresh condition and in accordance with consumption quality standards based on SNI 01-4110.1-2006. In contrast, tuna had an average score of only 5.4, indicating a decline in quality and non-conformity to freshness standards. The quality decline in tuna is thought to be caused by the lack of cold chain implementation during distribution and handling in the market. These findings emphasize the importance of proper post-harvest handling practices, including the application of cold temperatures, to maintain the quality and safety of consumed fish in traditional markets

Abstract

The high cost of feed and the demand for increased production efficiency in the super village chicken farming business encourages the need for innovation in the use of environmentally friendly natural materials. Ecoenzymes, as a result of organic waste fermentation, have the potential to support digestive health and nutrient utilization so that they are expected to improve the growth performance of super village chickens. This study aims to determine how the provision of eco-enzymes in drinking water mixtures affects the growth of super village chickens aged 3-10 weeks and To determine at what level the provision of eco-enzymes in drinking water mixtures affects the growth of super village chickens aged 3-10 weeks. The design used in this study was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments used were E0 = Chickens without eco-enzyme in the drinking water mixture, E1 = Chickens given eco-enzyme in 20 ml of drinking water mixture, E2 = Chickens given eco-enzyme in 40 ml of drinking water mixture, E3 = Chickens given eco-enzyme in 60 ml of drinking water mixture and E4 = Chickens given eco-enzyme in 80 ml of drinking water mixture. The results showed that the provision of eco-enzyme in the drinking water mixture had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the initial body weight, weight gain, final body weight, ration consumption, and FCR value of super kampung chickens. However, the provision of eco-enzyme had a very significant effect (P<0.01) on drinking water consumption. Although statistically insignificant, there was a tendency for increased body weight gain and feed efficiency in treatments E3 and E4. It was concluded that the provision of eco-enzyme up to 80 ml in drinking water has not been able to significantly improve the growth performance of super kampung chickens at the age of 3–10 weeks.

Abstract

Success in developing a livestock business is greatly influenced by three key elements, namely the availability, quality, and continuity of animal feed supply. In general, ruminant livestock feed consists of green fodder and concentrates. Concentrates are generally formulated from waste and by-products of the agricultural and agro- industrial sectors. The supply of green fodder, especially grass, often fluctuates in terms of both quantity and quality, especially during the dry season, due to limited water and decreased plant growth rates. This condition requires alternative green fodder that is adaptive to marginal environments, has high biomass productivity, and adequate nutritional value. One of the plants with great potential is sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench), Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) is a cereal crop with great potential to be developed as green fodder. In order to meet nutrient needs, the appropriate fertilization is by providing solid organic fertilizer from goat manure. This study aims to determine the nutritional content of Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench) green fodder given solid organic fertilizer from goat manure. This research was conducted from September to December 2025 at Jln. Sedap Malam, Banjar Kebon Kori Kelod, Gang Melati No. 15, East Denpasar. This research used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment used was with different fertilization doses P0 = Sorghum plants without giving solid organic fertilizer goat manure (Control), P1 = Sorghum plants with a fertilization dose of solid organic fertilizer goat manure 7.5 tons / ha, P2 = sorghum plants with a fertilization dose of solid organic fertilizer goat manure 15 tons / ha, P3 = sorghum plants with a fertilization dose of solid organic fertilizer goat manure 22.5 tons / ha, P4 = sorghum plants with a fertilization dose of solid organic fertilizer goat manure 30 tons / ha Based on statistical analysis, it was found that the effect of giving solid organic fertilizer goat manure on the nutritional quality of sorghum plants (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench) showed no significant effect (P.> 0.05) on dry matter and ash content variables. While the variables of crude protein, crude fiber, and crude fat showed very significant results. (P. <0.01). The results of the study showed that solid organic fertilizer goat manure was able to improve the nutritional quality of sorghum plants. These results indicate that the research conducted was positively correlated. Further research is needed to determine the optimal dosage of solid organic fertilizer. The best dosage is 22.5 tons/ha.

Abstract

Empowerment of local chickens in Indonesia continues to be developed by various parties, both government and private, considering the high demand for meat and eggs, animal protein needs can be met through super native chickens. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of providing fermented shallot straw flour in rations on carcass fragments of 10-week-old super native chickens and to find out what percentage level of fermented shallot straw flour in rations is able to provide the best results on carcass fragments of 10-week-old super native chickens. The current reality is that the price of commercial feed on the market is felt by farmers to be very expensive, while feed is the largest component in the poultry farming business, where feed costs can reach 60-70% of total production costs, so it is very important to find other alternative feeds in the availability of ration feed ingredients to reduce production costs as small as possible without reducing optimum production. Utilizing feed ingredients that are easily available and reduce the cost of purchasing feed ingredients, without affecting the productivity of super native chickens. Therefore, the method that can be done is to utilize alternative feed ingredients, namely shallot straw which is widely available and easily obtained. Research Design: The design used in this study was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 3 replications. P0 = Control ration without the addition of fermented shallot straw meal. P1 = Ration containing 3% fermented shallot straw. P2 = Ration containing 6% fermented shallot straw. P3 = Ration containing 9% fermented shallot straw. P4 = Ration containing 12% fermented shallot straw. Based on the results of the study, the administration of fermented shallot straw meal in the super kampung chicken ration had no significant effect (P>0.05) on all observed variables (breast weight, thigh weight, back weight, and wing weight). The administration of fermented shallot straw meal at a level of 3% in the ration showed the best results for carcass breakdown of super kampung chicken.   Keywords: Super Village Chicken, Carcass Breakdown, Fermented Shallot Straw Meal
