Abstract

Abstract: The development of Islam in a region cannot be separated from the role of local figures. In addition to being a supporter for Islamic da'wah, he also contributed to the color of Islam that developed in the region. One of the local figures was modin. Modin is a highly respected and respected figure, and has a considerable influence for rural communities. Beside it, modin is also a very famous figure among the villagers. The popularity of this local figure certainly can not be separated from his duties and responsibilities that are in direct contact with the pulse of village life. Most of the entire life cycle of a person from pre-birth to post-deathcan not bereleased from the duties and roles of a modin. Mbah Ahmad Musnadiis one of the localfigures asstated above.He is a modinin Ngadimulyo Village, Kampak District, Trenggalek Regency, East Java.This paper discusses the life history of Mbah Ahmad Musnadiand his role in society in his capacity asa modin.Through discussion of these two issues, this paper is expected to reveal the sides of the character's life that deserves to be used as an example, lesson, and inspiration for the next generation. Moreover, this paper is expected to enrich the source of information about the history of the struggle of a religious figure so as to enrich the treasures of knowledge about the history of local Islam. Abstrak: Perkembangan Islam di suatu wilayah tidak bisa lepas dari peran tokoh lokal setempat. Selain menjadi penopang bagi dakwah Islam, ia juga ikut memberikan warna Islam yang berkembang di suatu wilayah tersebut. Salah satu tokoh lokal itu adalah modin. Modin merupakan tokoh yang sangat disegani dan dihormati, serta memiliki pengaruh cukup besar bagi masyarakat pedesaan. Selain itu, modin juga merupakan tokoh yang sangat terkenal di kalangan masyarakat desa. Kepopuleran tokoh lokal ini tentu tidak lepas dari tugas dan tanggung jawabnya yang bersentuhan langsung dengan denyut nadi kehidupan masyarakat desa. Hampir seluruh siklus hidup sesorang mulai dari pra-kelahiran hingga pasca-kematian tidak dapat dilepaskan dari tugas dan peran seorang modin. Mbah Ahmad Musnadi merupakan salah satu tokoh lokal sebagaimana dikemukakan di atas. Ia adalah seorang modin di Desa Ngadimulyo Kecamatan Kampak Kabupaten Trenggalek Jawa Timur. Tulisan ini membahas tentang sejarah hidup Mbah Ahmad Musnadi dan perannya di masyarakat dalam kapasitasnya sebagai modin. Melalui pembahasan terhadap atas dua permasalahan tersebut, tulisan ini diharapkan dapat menguak sisi-sisi kehidupan sang tokoh yang layak dijadikan teladan, pelajaran, dan inspirasi bagi generasi berikutnya. Selebihnya, tulisan ini diharapkan dapat memperkaya sumber informasi tentang sejarah perjuangan seorang tokoh agama sehingga bisa memperkaya khazanah pengetahuan tentang sejarah Islam lokal.

Abstract

Abstract: Efforts to secularize knowledge by the West aroused intellectual fervor among Muslims. Muslims feel aggrieved by the ideology promoted by the West. In their efforts to counteract the secularization of knowledge, Muslims try to make Islam a scientific paradigm. So the idea of Islamization of science and Islam as a science was raised by Muslim scholars. The two ideas have different concepts. The Islamization of science seeks to dig from context to text, while Islam as a science departs from text to context. Despite their different methods, the two of them are an attempt to Islamic reasoning.Abstrak: Upaya sekularisasi ilmu pengetahuan oleh Barat membangkitkan semangat intelektual di kalangan umat Islam. Umat Islam merasa dirugikan dengan ideologi yang diusung oleh Barat. Dalam usahanya menangkal sekularisasi ilmu pengetahuan, umat Islam berusaha menjadikan Islam sebagai paradigma ilmiah. Maka gagasan Islamisasi sains dan Islam sebagai sains dimunculkan oleh para sarjana Muslim. Kedua gagasan tersebut memiliki konsep yang berbeda. Islamisasi ilmu berusaha menggali dari konteks ke teks, sedangkan Islam sebagai ilmu berangkat dari teks ke konteks. Meskipun metode mereka berbeda, keduanya merupakan upaya penalaran Islam.

Abstract

Abstract: Islamic education was originally a scientific base that first appeared in the archipelago (Nusantara). Pesantren is the oldest education recorded in history books, and at the same time has an important role in the development of Islamic education, no exception after Indonesia gained independence from the colonial reign. Although independence has been achieved, Indonesian education cannot be said to be smooth in its journey, in this case the following article will discuss the dynamics of post-independence Islamic Education related. Regarding the old order, Islamic education had existed before, and it was mostly pesantren, and public schools, but it was not yet neatly arranged, however in this period there were many laws and regulations related to policies, to carry out religious teaching. Then, entering the new order, education only focuses on formal education, while informal and Islamic education become stepchildren of the government. When entering the era of reform, a lot of Islamic education began to grow and develop into various teachings, one of them is madrasa as well as the education of Al-Qur'an and so on. This research uses the historical method which consists of four stages, namely heuristics (source gathering stage), external criticism (determining source authenticity) and internal criticism (determining source credibility), interpretation (analysis) of data, and historiography (writing process). The results of this study stated that post-independence Islamic education in Indonesia gave birth to ups and downs in policy and ended with the number of institutions that developed pesantren education, as the oldest educational system.Abstrak: Pendidikan Islam pada mulanya merupakan basis keilmuan yang pertama kali muncul di Nusantara (Nusantara). Pesantren merupakan pendidikan tertua yang tercatat dalam buku-buku sejarah, dan sekaligus memiliki peran penting dalam perkembangan pendidikan Islam, tidak terkecuali setelah Indonesia merdeka dari penjajahan. Meski kemerdekaan telah tercapai, namun perjalanan pendidikan Indonesia tidak bisa dikatakan mulus, dalam hal ini artikel berikut akan membahas terkait dinamika Pendidikan Islam pasca kemerdekaan.Pada masa orde lama, pendidikan Islam sudah ada sebelumnya, kebanyakan pesantren, dan sekolah umum, namun belum tertata dengan rapi, namun pada masa ini banyak peraturan perundang-undangan yang terkait dengan kebijakan, untuk menjalankan ajaran agama. Kemudian memasuki orde baru, pendidikan hanya menitikberatkan pada pendidikan formal, sedangkan pendidikan informal dan Islam menjadi anak tiri pemerintah. Memasuki era reformasi, banyak pendidikan Islam yang mulai tumbuh dan berkembang menjadi berbagai ajaran, salah satunya madrasah serta pendidikan Al-Qur’an dan sebagainya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode sejarah yang terdiri dari empat tahapan, yaitu heuristik (tahap pengumpulan sumber), kritik eksternal (menentukan keaslian sumber) dan kritik internal (menentukan kredibilitas sumber), interpretasi (analisis) data, dan historiografi (proses penulisan). Hasil penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa pendidikan Islam pasca kemerdekaan di Indonesia melahirkan pasang surut kebijakan dan diakhiri dengan banyaknya lembaga yang mengembangkan pendidikan pesantren, sebagai sistem pendidikan tertua.

Abstract

Abstract: This paper discusses the development of democracy in Tunisia. The goal is to understand the development of Tunisian democracy which is full of dynamics of the effects of the Arab Spring. This research uses the library method. Data collection through journals and books. The results of this study found that the long journey of the Tunisian people, in achieving independence from the occupation of the Tunisian government itself, was a road that was not easy, steep and sharp. Many became victims, in the name of the revolution. Both physically and psychologically. However, the struggle is carried out not only in the name of religion but also human humanity at stake, the rights and obligations desired by the Tunisian people, who become their driving force in their journey to achieve a democratic government. Of course, this requires a sacrifice in the long journey of democracy in Tunisia. Although in some Middle Eastern countries the process of democratization is still uncertain, Tunisia is not. Tunisia has become a hope for countries in the Middle East to rise from adversity. Tunisia has successfully held elections to democratically appoint a leader. Tunisian democracy is getting better with the inauguration of a new constitution that provides equality between men and women so that Tunisia becomes a pioneer of feminism in the Middle East. Although we cannot compare it with other contexts of Islamic government, Tunisia is a system that continues to rise to renew the slump of democracy by removing the influence of secular, far-right ideologies, and the monarchical system. Therefore, the political dynamics of the state system is a transition period whether it will lead to destruction or even towards democratic maturity, thus there is still optimism for the implementation of Islamic democracy in the Tunisian government system in the midst of all the dynamics that are faced.Abstrak: Tulisan ini membahas perkembangan demokrasi di Tunisia. Tujuannya untuk memahami perkembangan demokrasi Tunisia yang sarat dengan dinamika dampak Arab Spring. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kepustakaan. Pengumpulan data melalui jurnal dan buku. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa perjalanan panjang rakyat Tunisia dalam mencapai kemerdekaan dari penjajahan pemerintah Tunisia sendiri merupakan jalan yang tidak mudah, terjal dan tajam. Banyak yang menjadi korban, atas nama revolusi. Baik secara fisik maupun psikis. Namun, perjuangan tersebut dilakukan tidak hanya atas nama agama tetapi juga kemanusiaan manusia yang dipertaruhkan, hak dan kewajiban yang diinginkan oleh rakyat Tunisia, yang menjadi pendorong mereka dalam perjalanan mencapai pemerintahan yang demokratis. Tentu saja, ini membutuhkan pengorbanan dalam perjalanan panjang demokrasi di Tunisia. Meski di beberapa negara Timur Tengah proses demokratisasi masih belum pasti, Tunisia tidak demikian. Tunisia menjadi harapan bagi negara-negara di Timur Tengah untuk bangkit dari keterpurukan. Tunisia telah berhasil mengadakan pemilu untuk menunjuk seorang pemimpin secara demokratis. Demokrasi Tunisia semakin baik dengan diresmikannya konstitusi baru yang memberikan kesetaraan antara laki-laki dan perempuan sehingga Tunisia menjadi pelopor feminisme di Timur Tengah. Meski tidak bisa kita bandingkan dengan konteks pemerintahan Islam lainnya, Tunisia adalah sistem yang terus bangkit untuk memperbaharui keterpurukan demokrasi dengan menghilangkan pengaruh ideologi sekuler, sayap kanan, dan sistem monarki. Oleh karena itu, dinamika politik sistem negara merupakan masa transisi apakah akan menuju kehancuran atau bahkan menuju kedewasaan demokrasi, sehingga masih ada optimisme penerapan demokrasi Islam dalam sistem pemerintahan Tunisia di tengah segala dinamika yang ada. dihadapi.

Abstract

من وجهة نظر جمال البنا، تظهر الحياة الدينية دائمًا ظواهر تعددية وغير المتجانسة. رأى جمال أن الصفة الواحدية ترتبط بالله تعالى وحده، ماعدا المخلوقات لاسيما الناس. و كان المجتمع الإندونيسي أكبر سكان المسلمين في العالم يعرض ظاهرة التعددية. قد استوعب شعار الإتحاد في التعدد و المبادئ الخمسة كفلسفة الحياة الوطنية وحياة الدولة من قيم التوحيد والتعددية متكاملة فيه. من هنا، تبحث هذا المقالة عن معرفة التعددية لجمال البنا وأهمية تفكيره في سياق إندونيسيا. هذا البحث يحصل على أنها بنيت على أساس التوحيد. التصديق بوحدانية الله ألزمنا قبول تعددية الحياة، لأن التوحيد هو تمثيل من ظواهر الحياة المتعددة. و نجد فيها الإشارات التوحيدية الأخلاقية التي تشمل فيه مبدأ المساواة، و التعاون و الإحترام في التنوع، التسابق في الخيرات، العدالة في قطاع الحياة، الحرية الدينية، التسماح، حرية الفكر، والأخوة الوطنية. ثانيًا، معرفة التوحيد تعتبر فيه نقطة المبداء ذات صلة بـشعار الإتحاد في التعدد و المبادئ الخمسة التي تتطلب التعددية قائمًا على المادة الأولى، وهي الربنية الواحدة. ثالثًا، في سياق إندونيسيا، عرضها يصبح مهما من أجل تحقيق القيم التحولية التحريرية المضمومة في التوحيد وإعادة التأكيد على الموقف المعتدل الإسلامي حول حياة الأمة الإندونيسية المتعددة.

Abstract

This paper will examine how the historical development of Garebegceremony, the ceremony began early during the emergence of the Islamic kingdom of Demak NCO reached the age Ngayogyakarta Hadiningra today. Long before Islam developed in this region, Javanese Hindu Kings used to perform a wide variety of religious ceremonies. At the time of the founding of the Kingdom of Demak NCO as an Islamic kingdom in Java, Raden Patah with the support of the trustees maintain a ceremonial monarch Medha to implement Islam. Through the ceremony, the Muslim missionaries tried to incorporate Islamic values in the lives of the people of Java. In the development of ceremonies that changed its name to sekaten the ebb and flow along with the political dynamics of the Islamic kingdoms in Java. After the kingdom of Demakkingdom was replaced by Pajang, there is no evidence showing that theceremony was performed by the Sultan sekaten Hadiwijaja. Even gamelan sekaten as one sekaten ceremony supplies were transferred to the Kingdom of Cirebon. Raden Patah daughter who is married to a descendant of Sunan Gunung Jati is precisely that utilizes gamelan for the propagation of Islam in our region and surrounding areas. During the Islamic Mataram Kingdom in the reign of Sultan Agung, the ceremony sekaten experiencing tremendous growth.Efforts to strengthen the Power of Sultan Agung of Mataram dynasty is held back a religious ceremony that is Sekaten Javanese Islamic kingdom. Sekatenceremonies that have been held since the days of the founding of the Kingdom of Demak NCO and a means of propagation of Islam is revived with a variety of reforms. In the reign of Sultan Agung, Sekaten ceremony held more festive with various reforms, one of them with two new sekaten gamelan Gamelan Kyai Guntur Madu and Kyai Guntur Sari. Sekaten other ceremonial paraphernalia also was renewed at the time of Sultan Agung is the shape and number of the king's alms. Along with the advent of colonization by European nations in Java,Sekaten ceremony also undergone various changes. Various equipment more simple ceremony, while the parties involved are added. Similarly,when the Islamic kingdom in Java was broken into two, Surakarta andYogyakarta Sultanate. Each develops its own royal ceremony held to mark the Muslim religious holidays. Based on the historical analysis is done, the Sultanate Ngayogyakarta want to continue the tradition ceremony during Sultan Agung  Garebeg by accentuating the sides of his Islam. One example is that there are 5 that there are mountains in the Sultanate Ngayogyakarta Garebeg ceremony, likely has existed since the time of Sultan Agung. Abstract

Little has been written on the history of Jambi. The early history of thesultanate of Jambi roughly coincided with the advent of Islam, through precise dates are impossible. According to legends and Jambian folklore that the forefather of the sultan’s family had been a foreigner, originally from Turkey. In the nineteenth century, Turkey was seen as the embodiment of the Jambian ideal of near-divine strength and succor; and as savior in the times of emergency. Hope of military aid from Turkey had soared, despite the fact that just a rumor and rhetoric.Keywords: History, History of Jambi, Jambi Islam

Abstract

The community development of the Hadrami (jamaah) in Yogyakarta in the 20th was not separated from the life construction of the former Hadrami generation. All social process and experiences have influenced their point of view and dynamism going on the community social life in Yogyakarta. In social context, the Hadrami generation of Yogyakarta who were born in the early 20th century has been the "becoming Java" generation or even have never "been Arab" before. The nature surrounded by Javanese culture values and the nurture under the care of a noble- family mother tended to make the Arab descendant to know the mother's culture rather than the father's. This contribution that caused much identity disorientation or dilemma experienced by lots of Hadrami in Yogyakarta. The phenomenon appears when the interaction process is going on with the Arab new comers from other cities starting in 1940's. Besides that, they also gave the contribution in birth of economic activities among the Hadrami of Yogyakarta.The existence of Arab community in Yogya is also influenced by symbols belonged to the community in the middle of the Yogya society. Besides that, the division of history into period to reveal the existence of jamaah is in fact very decisive in coloring the life dynamism and change in the community. Therefore, the two period’s phases consisting of the arrival period and the social-economic condition period are expected to be able to interpret the reality of the change process happening and survival forms to the Hadrami people in Yogyakarta in the 20th century.

Abstract

Abstract: Islam and local tradition cannot be separated when delivering da'wah. It is crucial to understand and respect local traditions while promoting Islamic values to achieve effective and meaningful delivery of the message of Islam. While the advancement of technology offers a variety of media in Islamic teaching, a few communities still take advantage of the local tradition to deliver da’wah. This research focuses on Syi’iran Tradition in Bintaran Wetan, Srimulyo, Piyungan, Bantul where the community in that area deliver da’wah through syi’ir. This study employs qualitative analysis, where the primary data is collected through documentation and in-depth interviews with the leaders and activists of syi'ir. This paper argues that the syi’iran tradition proves that local tradition and Islam can be merged to convey Islamic teaching harmoniously and preserve the local tradition simultaneously.Abstrak: Islam dan tradisi lokal tidak dapat dipisahkan ketika menyampaikan dakwah. Sangat penting untuk memahami dan menghormati tradisi lokal sambil mempromosikan nilai-nilai Islam untuk mencapai penyampaian pesan Islam yang efektif dan bermakna. Sementara kemajuan teknologi menawarkan berbagai media dalam pengajaran Islam, beberapa komunitas masih memanfaatkan tradisi lokal untuk menyampaikan dakwah. Penelitian ini berfokus pada Tradisi Syi’iran di Bintaran Wetan, Srimulyo, Piyungan, Bantul, dimana masyarakat di daerah tersebut menyampaikan dakwah melalui syi’ir. Kajian ini menggunakan analisis kualitatif, dimana data primer dikumpulkan melalui dokumentasi dan wawancara mendalam dengan para tokoh dan penggiat syi'ir. Tulisan ini berpendapat bahwa tradisi syi’iran membuktikan bahwa tradisi lokal dan Islam dapat dilebur untuk menyampaikan ajaran Islam secara harmonis dan melestarikan tradisi lokal secara bersamaan.
