Abstract

The increasing demand for high-quality video delivery and storage has driven the development of more efficient video coding. H.265 is one of the latest video coding standards that provides better compression than its predecessor, H.264. This study analyzes the impact of intra and inter prediction configurations on video compression quality and efficiency in the context of H.265 encoding. The analysis is performed using Rate-Distortion (R-D) curves for several prediction configurations on each video sequence. The experiment compares intra, lowdelay, lowdelay-P, and randomaccess configurations on several video sequences. The results show that the intra configuration achieves the highest PSNR but also the highest bitrate. On the other hand, the randomaccess configuration achieves a good balance between bitrate and PSNR, obtaining a lower bitrate with better PSNR compared to lowdelay and lowdelay-P for all sequences.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of sintering temperature variations on the mechanical properties of Al-MWCNT composites produced by the powder metallurgy method. The matrix used was AA1100 aluminum with the addition of 1% nano Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotube (MWCNT). The mixture was compacted in a steel mold and sintered at temperatures of 450°C, 500°C, 550°C, and 600°C, and the results were compared with non-sintered specimens. The findings confirm that sintering at 500°C provides the most optimal results, as shown by a significant increase in hardness of 50.05 HV and improved wear resistance with a wear rate of only 0.4387 mm³/s, which is superior to the non-sintered specimens. EDS analysis revealed that this improvement is related to the lower oxygen content at 500°C, while SEM analysis showed tighter and more uniform particle bonding at this temperature. In contrast, sintering at temperatures above 500°C reduced material quality due to the formation of cracks and surface voids. These results clearly confirm that the increase in hardness and wear resistance of the material can only be achieved at the optimal sintering condition of 500°C.

Abstract

The development of an Information Technology (IT) Master Plan plays a crucial role in aligning an organization’s business strategy with its IT strategy. However, previous studies indicate that many IT Master Plans remain limited to strategic planning without a clear implementation roadmap, leading to uncertainty and inefficiencies in IT resource utilization. The absence of a structured framework also hinders the in-depth identification of IT needs, resulting in suboptimal or outdated systems. This study aims to apply the TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework) in the formulation of an IT Master Plan that includes a comprehensive roadmap. The research method involves analyzing business and IT requirements, designing enterprise architecture, and developing an implementation roadmap that outlines structured stages of digital transformation. The study produces an IT Master Plan for a herbal company, covering enterprise architecture and a roadmap for IT implementation from 2026 to 2030. A total of 12 key digital initiatives are proposed, with an estimated five-year implementation cost of Rp 36,500,000. These initiatives are designed to enhance operational efficiency, boost sales, and maintain alignment between internal capabilities and external dynamics within the herbal industry. The findings are significant in strengthening the digital readiness of herbal enterprises to face ongoing technological transformation challenges.

Abstract

The development of e-commerce services requires a solution to facilitate the delivery of packages from couriers to users while maintaining package security. This research aims to design an automatic package receiving box using an ESP32 microcontroller as the control unit. The research method uses a prototyping approach through the stages of problem identification, prototype design, implementation, and function testing. The system is equipped with a GM66 sensor to scan barcodes as package validation, a load cell sensor to detect the presence of packages, and a Telegram application as a communication medium with users. The design process includes hardware and software requirements analysis, schematic creation, and draft design. When the system operates, the barcode is scanned by the courier and verified with the receipt number stored in the database, and the locker door will open automatically if the data matches. The test results show that the system functions properly, the GM66 sensor can read the barcode accurately so that the door lock solenoid can open the locker, and the message on the LCD can be read by the courier. This system shows potential in improving security and efficiency of delivery in e-commerce services.

Abstract

This study aims to design and evaluate the chassis structure of a three-wheeled electric vehicle with a focus on improving the factor of safety (FoS) through geometric and material modifications. A three-dimensional model was developed using SolidWorks, while numerical analysis was conducted with the finite element method in ANSYS Workbench. Static loading scenarios were applied in the range of 0–600 kg, with load points positioned at the driver and cargo sections. The initial design showed an FoS value of less than 1 under a 200 kg load, indicating that it did not meet the safety criteria. The first modification, involving the addition of a base plate and reinforcements to the front cross members, increased the FoS to 1.02. A second modification, which included material adjustments and reinforcement of the cargo base, further improved the FoS to 1.29 while reducing the maximum stress by up to 33% compared to the initial design. These findings highlight that a combination of structural reinforcement strategies and appropriate material selection can significantly enhance chassis performance and achieve an acceptable safety level.

Abstract

Underground channels are subject to limited manual inspection owing to the fact that it is inefficient, high risk, and labor-intensive. These make obstacle-avoiding robots crucial in inspecting channels. This paper aims at designing an obstacle avoidance algorithm with ultrasonic sensors and fuzzy logic for enabling the free movement of inspection robots. The research approach includes the establishment of a fuzzy control system that accepts ultrasonic sensor distance input and provides decisions on robot movement direction. The two defuzzification strategies utilized in assessing the performance of the algorithms include Center of Maximum (COM) and Mean of Maximum (MOM). Testing included the presentation of various obstacle situations in front and along the robot. The result was that the Center of Maximum (COM) method created more precise straight and turn movements, yet at times the direction of motion was less consistent. In contrast, the Mean of Maximum (MOM) method could create a faster and more stable reaction to position change even when creating tighter turns. Overall, the system designed was successful in improving navigation capability of the inspection robots in confined spaces and could potentially serve as a base to develop more from for real-world applications in the field.

Abstract

This study analyzes the potential for solar energy utilization through a rooftop solar power system at the Amamapare Polytechnic campus in Timika, Central Papua, using PVsyst-based simulations. The designed system consists of 77 solar panels, 28 batteries, and 5 inverters, and is capable of producing 11,103 kWh/year, which only meets 19-20% of the total load, so that some of the energy still depends on PLN. The initial investment cost of the system is estimated at IDR 490,733,150, while the total life cycle carbon emissions are recorded at 20,702 kgCO2, reflecting the initial carbon footprint from production and installation. The results of the study show that rooftop solar power plants can significantly reduce dependence on fossil fuels and lower carbon emissions, while providing practical guidance for educational institutions in Papua to design sustainable independent energy systems. Abstract

The Wouma District in Jayawijaya Regency has significant potential for sirtu (sand and gravel) deposits, particularly along the Uwe River. PT. Arkatama Mining is one of the mining companies utilizing these resources for construction and mining activities. However, the economic feasibility and actual reserve quantity of sirtu have not been thoroughly studied. This research aims to analyze the economic feasibility of sirtu mining using the Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR) method. Data collection involved field measurements, interviews, and company document analysis. Results show that the mining area covers 4,320 m² with a sirtu resource volume of 38,880 m³. The BCR value obtained is 2.6, indicating that the project is economically feasible and profitable. The study recommends environmental monitoring and operational efficiency improvements to ensure sustainable mining practices.

Abstract

Perubahan kondisi cuaca dan musim yang tidak menentu sering menyebabkan kerusakan bahan baku buah-buahan atau sayuran, seperti pembusukan dan penurunan mutu sebelum diolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membangun ulang mesin vacuum frying yang berfungsi menggoreng bahan pangan dengan tekanan rendah sehingga menghasilkan produk dengan kualitas warna, aroma, dan kandungan gizi yang lebih baik dibandingkan proses penggorengan konvensional. Perancangan pada alat terdiri dari beberapa bagian: Tabung Penggorengan 60 cm x 30 cm menggunakan plat stailess steel, Tabung Vakum dengan ukuran 60 cm x 23 cm serta saluran pipa ke tabung berukuran 1 inchi dengan bahan stainless serta komponen komponen penunjang lainnya seperti, Pompa Air, Vacuum Gauge, Selenoid Valve, Sensor Suhu, Pengontrol Kelayakan dan Penggunaan Minyak Goreng, Pintu Penutup Kolam Penampungan Air, Serta Kran Penguras. Dengan demikian, penerapan vacuum frying efektif dalam menjaga kualitas produk olahan buah serta memberikan dampak positif bagi pemgerajin usaha pada sektor pengolahan makanan di tengah meningkatnya permintaan pasar dan tantangan perubahan musim.

Abstract

Kinerja sistem pelumasan pada mesin industri sangat dipengaruhi oleh kualitas oli yang digunakan. Kontaminasi berupa partikel logam, serpihan karbon, dan kotoran mikroskopis dapat menyebabkan penurunan efisiensi pelumasan, peningkatan temperatur kerja, hingga percepatan keausan komponen. Penelitian ini merancang dan menganalisis alat filtrasi oli berbasis filter mekanis yang diterapkan pada tangki oli skala industri guna meningkatkan kebersihan oli selama proses operasi. Sistem filtrasi dirancang dengan konsep sirkulasi kontinu, di mana oli dialirkan dari tangki menuju media filter berpori 5mikron menggunakan pompa low-pressure dan dikembalikan kembali ke dalam tangki. Pengujian dilakukan pada oli terkontaminasi partikel padat buatan dengan ukuran <= 50 mikron. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa alat filtrasi mampu menurunkan jumlah partikel hingga 80–90% setelah periode filtrasi 45–90 menit, serta meningkatkan kejernihan oli secara signifikan. Dengan demikian, alat filtrasi mekanis ini terbukti efektif dalam memperpanjang umur pakai oli, meminimalkan downtime mesin, dan mengurangi biaya perawatan pada sistem pelumasan industri.
