Abstract

A lot of fresh food are easily damaged so they use chemical preservatives. Liquid smoke is a natural preservative because it is safe for health and the environment. The raw material used by agricultural waste, namely coconut shell. Liquid smoke that is quality and safe to consume must go through a purification process to eliminating the content of benzo(A)pyrene compounds because it is a carcinogenic compound that is very dangerous for human health if consumed. The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of liquid smoke through a purification process using active zeolite filtration to optimize the performance of pyrolysis reactors to producing liquid smoke. This research was carried out by pyrolysis, distillation and filtration at optimum operating conditions then analyzed using GC/MS and LC/MS. The results of this study are the amount of yield of liquid smoke from coconut shells without drying and drying is 36% and 28.8%. The remaining charcoal from coconut shells is 33% and 50%. The number of components lost from coconut shells was 31% and 21.2%. The performance of liquid smoke equipment from coconut shell is 4.37 g / (jam.m) and 5.59 g / (jam.m). The quality of liquid smoke produced for phenol from coconut shell is 3.04%. The quality of acidity is 7.3%. The pH value is 2.31. Liquid grade 1 smoke from coconut shell was not detected of benzo (A) pyrene after passing the zeolite filtration process. The values ??of phenol content, acidity, pH value and undetectable benzo(A)pyrene compound on liquid smoke are indicate that zeolite filtration is very optimal and produces liquid smoke with good quality.

Abstract

Fish is easily damaged food because it contains high protein and water content up to 80%, and high nutrient content so that fish is a good medium for the growth of bacteria and other microorganisms. Therefore the handling of fish that necessary to be done in order to maintain this quality of fish and extend the self life of fish without reduce the nutritional percentage with maximum. Handling fresh fish with distribution of liquid smoke can reduce the deterioration speed of fish quality,  foremost in reduction microbe activity and chemistry reaction such as decomposition of protein. The purpose of this study was to determine the concentration of liquid smoke and storage time in fresh fish. This research uses experimental method with variables 0-48 hours with different concentrations. The main tools used are pyrolysis reactor and distillation process, with bamboo raw material. The analyzes used the GC-MS tool, and the parameters measured included: phenol content, rendement, pH value and benzopirene levels. The results of this study indicate that the use of bamboo liquid smoke that is more effective and optimal to be applied to fresh fish is with a concentration of 4% on a saving of 12 hours with phenol content of 3.45% and pH value 3.52.

Abstract

Jackfruit sweets are one of the jackfruit processing with drying technology application to extend the shelf life, strengthen the aroma and taste, increase nutritional value, and increase the selling value of jackfruit. The problem with partners is the color of products that experience browning and do not have standard packaging. The method of carrying out the activities was carried out in a participatory manner through a series of programs, namely (1) technical guidance activities, (2) intensive business assistance with emphasis on improving product quality, formulating marketing strategies, and implementing business bookkeeping, and (3) facilitating product packaging design. The results of the activity showed that the community partnership program conducted in the sweets jackfruit business group was able to provide some improvements both in terms of candied jackfruit production and business management. The quality of the product produced is better in terms of appearance and packaging.

Abstract

Sugar cane is a type of herbaceous plant which contains a lot of sugar. This study aims to determine the results of% pol (sugarcane purification) and% brix (sugarcane concentration) from sugarcane raw materials if using hydrolic press and jeffco wet dessentegrator methods. The results of this study indicate that% pol and% brix use the unstable hydrolic press and jeffco wet dessegrator method because the sugar cane used is not sugar cane which is usually used in the milling season.

Abstract

The wall is designed as a non-structural filler component but is used as a support load on it. When exposed to high earthquake vibrations, there will be diagonal cracks accompanied by a reduction in strength because Indonesia is a country that has the potential to cause earthquakes. There needs to be repairs and reinforcement on the damaged part, one of which is using a chicken wire reinforcement. This study used experimental descriptive with test specimens in the form of brick wall measuring 50 cm x 50 cm, thickness of 14 cm, and in the middle of plaster planted chicken wire. In the crack gap was given mortar. The result of study are (1) test of shear diagonal strength of brick wall without reinforcement of chicken wire obtained a mean value of 1,16 kg / cm2; (2) test of shear diagonal strength of brick wall with chicken wire strengthening obtained a mean value of 1,21 kg / cm2; (3) test of shear diagonal strength of brick wall repair with reinforced chicken wire obtained a mean value of 4.04 kg / cm2; and (4) there was significant different score at ? = 0,05 of brick wall without reinforcement, with reinforcement, and repair with chicken wire strengthening.

Abstract

Indonesia has more than 80 thousand villages as the smallest administrative unit of the Republic of Indonesia. Each village needs at least three to four bridges to cross the river, and to access other facilities. The many bridge needs are not accompanied by the state budget allocated to the construction of bridges in villages. One alternative bridge construction is from wood material is also a renewable material. Constraints in the use of wood for building construction are the scarcity of wood with large dimensions. To overcome this problem, there is engineering wood (engineering wood), one of which is the box beam. Box beams are proven to increase the inertia of a material when compared to conventional wooden beams with the same cross-sectional area. This study aims to find a comparison of the strengths between conventional wooden bridges and wooden bridges using Camper box beam elements. The results of this study indicate that from the comparison of box beams and ordinary wood beams it turns out that the box beam produces a voltage of 0.129 MPa and a conventional beam of 0.142 MPa. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the box beam has a higher compressive strength than solid wood with the same cross-sectional area. And can be a recommendation for the selection of short span bridge structures for Rural because it is more economical and strong.

Abstract

Tribhuwana Tunggadewi University Malang has many departments and SMEs, each Department or UKM has its own organizations, so that it requires facilities / places to accommodate every member of the existing organization. The provision of the place must be done by redesigning one of the buildings in the university, namely the 3rd floor parking building shaking the 3rd floor parking building underutilized as a parking lot due to its high building which is located on the 3rd floor. The redesign was done by calculating the strength of the building before and after the building was redesigned and calculating the RAB (planned budget costs) after being redesigned. Profile data is taken / measured directly in the research location, so that secondary data can be obtained either from measurements or interview processes. In the existing condition, the gording uses profile C 75.40.15.3.2 the gording used does not meet the requirements, so the recording is planned to return C 100.50.5. after calculating the load, ie dead load, live load, wind load, analyzing using stadpro is done so that the moments that occur in each direction will be obtained both in the direction of x direction and z direction. In the column, the addition is done in the middle of the portal with profile C 100.50.5 and in each column, the beams are added with a profile of WF 150.75.5.7 to avoid slackness in the center of the portal and can endanger the user above.

Abstract

The retaining wall is a component of the main building structure for highways and other environmental buildings that relate to contoured land or land that has different elevations. Briefly the retaining wall is a wall built to hold the soil mass above the structure or building that is made. There are several types of retaining walls that are often used in the field of building construction such as gravity retaining walls, cantilever retaining walls, counterfort retaining walls, and butters retaining walls. The purpose of this research is to analyze the stability of the rolling force, shear and soil carrying capacity. The dimensions of this retaining wall were built with a length (b) 22 meters and height (h) = 7 meters, base width (B) = 5 meters, normal water surface conditions without earthquakes, stability against bolster force = 1.7> 1.5 ( safe), shear force = 1.7> 1.5 (safe), flood water surface conditions without earthquake, stability against bolster force = 1.6> 1.5 (safe), shear force = 1.7> 1, 5 (safe) and soil support force = 250.6 <qa = 7174.42 (safe). The retaining wall is planned to require Rp. 126,000,000.00 / m3.

Abstract

Intersection is one part of the road that is the area where traffic conflicts occur. The existence of this conflict will result in interference with the movement of the vehicle. This situation is generally known as traffic flow congestion. Geometric condition of unmarked intersection on Mertojoyo - Joyo Utomo roads of Merjosari village Malang city, conflicts often occur which are caused by the approaching width which is less proportional to the current of the vehicle, so it is necessary to analyze. The purpose of this study is to determine the size of the intersection capacity, intersection performance and alternative intersection improvement directions. The method used in analyzing this perverse performance refers to the Indonesian highway Capacity Manual 1997 (MKJI 1997). To analyze this crossing, the average traffic data collected during 12 working days is taken. Based on the recapitulation of traffic volume for 12 working days, the highest QTotal was 2994 smp/hour which occurred on Saturday period 17.00 - 18.00. Based on the results of data analysis of traffic flow on a busy Saturday, the period 17.15-18.15, obtained QTotal = 2994 Smp / Hour, capacity value (C) = 2135.98 smp/hour the degree of saturation (DS) = 1.381 > 0.75 values suggested MKJI 1997. Alternative installation of prohibited traffic signs turn right on the main road, C = 2693,829 smp/hour, degree of saturation (DS) = 1,112 > 0,75. Alternative widening on main roads and minor roads and the installation of prohibited traffic signs turn right on the main road, obtained C = 3178,378 smp/hour, DS = 0,94 > 0,75. Alternative two-phase signaling and widening on the main road and minor road, the capacity of each approach < 0.75 is obtained, thus overcoming the problem at this intersection.

Abstract

Tribhuwana Tunggadewi University is one of the campuses in Malang City which is located on Jl. Telaga Warna, Tlogomas. The Unitri campus has several lecture buildings, namely building A (Rectorate), building B (lecture hall), building C (lecture hall) and building D (lecture hall). Building D is divided into several lecture halls, including D3 and D4 rooms. This research was conducted in the D33 lecture hall and D41 lecture hall in the D building. In this D building still uses a lot of windows that serve to facilitate light illumination and natural air entering. The purpose of his research was to find out the air conditioning system in the lecture hall in Building D, Analyze the air conditioning system according to SNI 03-6572-2001 in the lecture hall in Building D and provide a solution for the air conditioning system in the lecture hall in Building D. Data collection methods used with how to conduct observations and direct surveys at locations in the form of primary data and secondary data. From the results of the analysis above, it is obtained the comfort level of the lecture room based on the results of temperature measurements which prove that the temperature in the room does not meet SNI 03-6572-2001 and the results of respondent responses also show that many feel uncomfortable with the conditions of the lecture room D33 and D41.
