Abstract

Tourism development is essentially an effort to develop and utilize tourist objects and attractions that are realized, among others, in the form of beautiful natural wealth, diversity of flora and fauna, a plurality of cultural traditions and arts, and ancient relics. One of the cultural assets that become a tourist attraction is the museum. The museum is a legal institution helpful in preserving, maintaining, and providing knowledge about historical records to the general public. One of them is the Bukuran Cluster Museum located in Surakarta City and is one of the supporting museums of the Sangiran Museum, which is rich in human fossils. The museum's interior's technical requirements include the collection's arrangement, including exhibition layout, lighting, labels, air conditions, audiovisual equipment, paintings/dioramas, security, and circulation. Thus, this study is an analysis to determine the influence of the interior design of the Bukuran Cluster Museum on human behavior through the physical condition of the museum, as mentioned by the Directorate of Museums.

Abstract

Batik’s recognition as a world heritage by UNESCO has given a positive impetus to the batik industry. The encouragement, however, has yet to reach the batik canting cap (stamp) home industry, which is a supporting sector of stamped batik. Knowledge and expertise in making canting stamps are difficult to transfer to the next generation because the economic value is not promising. The raw material of the canting stamp, namely copper metal, has unique characteristics. In terms of visual appearance, the canting stamp has an aesthetic value for the interior. An experimental method is used in the research to produce interior material prototypes that are suitable for market conditions. The making of an interior elements model as a prototype reference uses computer programs and tools for design, which are known as computer-aided design (CAD) to reduce costs because it can provide a photorealistic visualization. The outcome is expected to encourage the growth of the canting stamp batik home industry, hence its economic value will increase. The ultimate goal is to increase employment by pushing canting stamp batik quantity production due to the demand for interior materials then will open up opportunities to regenerate the skills to make canting stamp batik.

Abstract

The revitalization of the railway station in Situbondo Regency is an effort to revitalize the function of the station and commercial function as a maintenance measure of a cultural heritage building in Situbondo Regency. This design aims to renew Situbondo Railway Station with facilities following the Indonesian Railway Station Service Standards. The design method includes input, synthesis/analysis, and output. This design uses the theme "Modern Meets Heritage," which is an effort to process the physical condition of building architecture as a heritage building in very rapid technological and design developments. The Interior Style used is the Art Deco interior style. Thus this design produces an interior design of a train station with hall facilities, counters, customer service, waiting rooms, executive waiting rooms, platforms, and other supporting facilities with aesthetic and good function value.
