Surgery can threaten the integrity of a person's body and soul so that it can cause a physiological response in preoperative patients, namely anxiety. Reducing anxiety before surgery is very important for patients, one of them with complementary therapy. Alternative treatments with complementary therapies, namely deep breath relaxation techniques and music therapy that can overcome preoperative patient anxiety levels. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of deep breath relaxation techniques and music therapy on reducing the anxiety level of preoperative patients. This study quasi experimental used a noneqiuvalent pre-test and post-test approach control group design involving 42 preoperative patients. Selected through technique non-probability sampling with method consecutive sampling divided into 2 groups, namely 21 respondents in the intervention group who were given deep breath relaxation technique and music therapy, while 21 respondents in the control group were only given music therapy without deep breathing relaxation techniques. Measurement of anxiety level was carried out twice before and after treatment, then the data were analyzed using Paired t test and Independent t test. Independent t test showed significant difference p value of 0.000 (<0.05) that the intervention group better well in lowering anxiety levels compared with the control group. In conclusion, deep breath relaxation techniques and music therapy effectively lowered anxiety level in preoperative patients.

The changing times have resulted in a greater variety of problems that cause stress and the weaker one's ability to cope with stress. This results in higher cases of suicide and a higher risk of suicide. Assessment of the risk of suicide is important to pay attention to cultural factors other than individual factors. Various attempts have been made to reduce the suicide rate. One of the efforts that can be done to reduce suicide rates is to increase individual self-efficacy. This study aims to determine how the relationship between self-efficacy and culture is related to the risk of suicide in adolescents in Langke Rembong District, Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. This study used a cross-sectional quantitative approach. The population in this study were adolescents in Manggarai Regency with a sample size of 274 people. Data collection was carried out using the Assessment of Suicidal Intention (ASI), Cultural Assessment of Risk for Suicide (CARS) General Self Efficacy Scale (GSES). The results showed a significant relationship between CARS and GSES with a p value of 0,000 and a significant relationship between ASI and GSES with a p value of 0.003.The results of the Manova test showed a significant relationship between self-efficacy and the risk of suicide using CARS and GSES. p value <0.05. Good self-efficacy can be a protective factor against suicide risk, vice versa, low self-efficacy can be a risk factor for suicide.

Abstract

Children with Special Needs (hearing and visual impairments) will experience the same sexual development, confusion, and sexual urges as some normal children. However, access to information to obtain knowledge about reproductive health is still lacking due to their limitations. It is happened because of the lack of attention and support from the government and the general public. It is necessary to identify reproductive health needs so that health service activities can be right on target and increase the reproductive health services in this group. This study aims to identify the reproductive health needs of children with special needs (hearing and visual impairments) in SLB Karya Murni Ruteng. This research is qualitative research with a phenomenological study approach. This research was conducted at SLB Karya Murni Ruteng from May to August 2020. Participants in this study were six hearing impairments children and seven visual impairments. The principle of sampling in qualitative research is to achieve data saturation means there are no new themes that showed up. The participants in this study were 13 people because they had received data saturation. Research data collection was carried out through Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on hearing impairments children, assisted by their teacher to translate the sign language proposed by the researcher. And for the visual impairment children, the research data were collected through in-depth interviews. Researchers used interview guidelines to assist researchers in asking research-oriented questions. Analysis of the data used in this study using content analysis. The analysis provides in narrative form started from coding each informant's statement that is relevant to the research, categorizing, and producing themes under the research objectives. The validated data carried out by triangulation of sources that confirming the answers with related parties so that there was the suitability of the answers given to the informants. The source of triangulation was taken from the teachers and principals of Karya Murni's SLB, who were always with them both at school and in the school dormitory. The results of the study explained that most children with special needs did not have a comprehensive understanding of Reproductive Health. The role of parents and educators is still not maximal in giving the understanding of reproductive health to children with special needs. Health services, especially reproductive health, which is currently being echoed by the central and regional governments, have not touched people with special needs
