Abstract

China and all societies are required to understand and practice the steps for self-protection and of prevention of infection transmission to others. Strategies to prevent Covid-19 infection can be applied by self-isolation or quarantine, promoting public health behaviors, such as: washing hands with soap or hand sanitizer, applying proper cough and sneezing ethics, and maintaining social distancing. This study aimed to determine the factors that influence Covid-19 prevention behavior among students in Banyuwangi Regency, East Java, Indonesia. This study was an observational analytic study and used a cross-sectional design. The sampling used purposive sampling; respondents who returned the online questionnaire were 138 people. Pearson chi square test was conducted to determine the correlation among the variables of gender, age, type of college and knowledge. The results of Pearson chi square test showed that there was an effect between type of college (p = 0,000) and knowledge (p = 0,000) in the efforts to handle, prevent, and care for Covid-19 patients. From the results of multivariate analysis, knowledge was the most influential (r = 0.721; CI = 3.466 - 7,680), which means that knowledge has an effect of 72.1% on student health behavior in efforts to prevent Covid-19. The role of governments and the dissemination of relevant information on social media will influence knowledge on health behavior.

Abstract

Fracture is a disruption of the normal discontinuity of bone and causes the surrounding tissue to be disrupted. Management of fractures is generally divided into recognition, reduction, retention, and rehabilitation. Exercises in the postoperative fracture patient rehabilitation program require patience and take a long time to achieve maximum cure. Nurses' therapeutic action in helping patients do rehabilitation exercises is by increasing the patient's self-efficacy to be independent in carrying out activities. Efforts to increase self-efficacy can be made through nursing interventions. This literature review aimed to explore the appropriate interventions on improving self-efficacy among postoperative fracture patients. Methods: This study was obtained from 4 databases, namely EBSCO, Key clinical, Willey, and Proquest, using inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results obtained. Decreased self-efficacy can occur in cases that require long action both for the healing process and chronic disease and when taking actions to maintain health, including post-surgery fractures. In conclusion, educational media will make it easier to provide interventions in increasing self-efficacy by paying attention to the factors that affect self-efficacy, namely master experience, vicarious experience, verbal persuasion, and emotional Arousal. The recommendation is that patients need support for adjusting the use of tools in providing education, providing logistics from samples in the application of education through technology media and to parents

Abstract

A prospective case-control study at the regional level was conducted in the pediatrics and neonatology department of Hassan II hospital in Agadir in Morocco from April 2016 to April 2018. In this study, we aimed to study congenital anomalies in the population of the study region regarding the frequency and highlight the associated risk factors. The types of congenital malformations have been classified according to the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10). Univariate analyzes were performed to identify the variables associated with the etiology of the malformations. Multiple logistic regression was used to characterize the associations between the MC, and the determining explanatory variables are taken into account simultaneously. The results found that congenital disabilities were significantly associated with the consanguinity level of the child, the prematurity of childbirth, the family history of CMs, the Body Mass index. (BMI) of the mother and the presence of a significant trauma during pregnancy. Our results have made it possible to highlight the existence of an association between a certain number of risk factors and the occurrence of congenital malformations

Abstract

Cesarean section (CS) is the most significant surgical intervention that affects the central nervous system and slows down the bowel movement after CS. Intervention in the early period after CS is needed to improved bowel function. This study aimed to determine the effect of chewing gum on the acceleration of hospitalized time among post-cesarean section patients at  Dewi Sartika Public Hospital. This quasi-experimental study was conducted with 72 patients divided into two groups of such as 36 for the intervention group, and 36 were the control group at Dewi Sartika Public Hospital. For data analysis, A paired T-test was used to describe the mean difference before and after receiving the intervention among the intervention group and the control group. After the 3-day intervention, there was a significant acceleration of hospitalization time in the intervention group (P<0.05) compared to before the intervention. Chewing gum is an effective intervention in accelerating the number of days of stay in post-cesarean section patients

Abstract

Anemia in pregnant women is a condition of red blood cells (erythrocytes) <11 gr/dl in trimesters III. It is unable to fulfill its function as a carrier of oxygen to all body tissues. Data obtained from the Cengkareng District Health Center recorded the number of anemia sufferers in third-trimester pregnant women in October 2019 as many as 40 people. This study aims to determine the factors associated with anemia incidence in third-trimester pregnant women in the Cengkareg District Health Center in 2019. This type of research is quantitative with a case-control research design to obtain field data of 80 respondents conducted by filling in medical records with total sampling techniques for case group respondents and control groups. The results of the Chi-Square test showed a relationship between nutritional status (p = 0.002), ANC visits (p = 0,000), parity (p = 0.022) and the incidence of anemia in third trimester pregnant women. It is expected that the public health center can further optimize programs for pregnant women so that they do not experience an increase in third-trimester pregnant women's anemia

Abstract

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a degenerative disease with long-term medication which needs home care service to enhance patients' obedience to medication compliance. The study aimed to investigate the effect of home care counseling on patients' medication adherence in prescribed medicine use. Methods:  The research design was quasi-experimental using pre-test post-test without control group approach. A total of 43 patients with type 2 DM at the outpatient unit of Sari Mutiara General Hospital were selected through consecutive sampling techniques. The patients were given counseling in medicine using home care visits over 24 times in July 2017 and September 2017. Results: Patient adherence evaluation on disease medication was carried out through questionnaire administration before the patient received counseling (pre-test) and received counseling (post-test). Data from the Questionnaire were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test with a confidence level was 95%. Before counseling, the average score of patients was 3.26. However, after counseling was carried out to the patients, the average score was 0.72. In conclusion, there was an increase in patient adherence, i.e., 2.54. It was also obtained that there was a significant difference in patients' adherence to medication use before and after receiving counseling in-home care, with a significance value of 0.000 (p<0.05). It indicated that home care counseling was effective in enhancing their medication adherence. It is suggested that healthcare practitioners carry out monitoring, particularly during therapy, to prevent diabetic complications
