Abstract

The World Health Organization (WHO) defines healthy aging as the process of developing and maintaining functional abilities that enable well-being in old age. Aging describes the influence on cells at the biological level caused by the impact of the accumulation of various molecular and cellular damage over time. One of the efforts of the physiotherapy program in conducting this activity aims to provide education and an elderly gymnastics program to raise awareness about the importance of physiotherapy and how to perform simple exercises at home, the presence of physiotherapists who can provide periodic services at the Posyandu, including evaluating physical conditions and providing interventions that are appropriate to the condition of the disease. The method used in this activity is to conduct counseling, education, and intervention, then the data is processed quantitatively. The results measured the quality of life using WHOQOL. The WHOQOL score before was 68.33+5.423 and afterward, it was 86.06+4.439, indicating an improvement in the quality of life after the elderly gymnastics program. Abstract

This activity aims to train and assist several MSMEs in Padang City in utilizing the SIAPIK Application in their business. SIAPIK application is an application from Bank Indonesia for web-based accounting records designed to make it easier for MSMEs to carry out financial records. The methods used in this activity include socialization sessions, direct training and regular mentoring. Activities began with two days of socialization and training at the Bank Indonesia Building, West Sumatra, on 15-16 September 2023, followed by intensive assistance for three months until the end of December 2023. Socialization was conducted to introduce the SIAPIK Application and its benefits, while direct training provided MSMEs with an understanding of how to use the application—three months of assistance ensured that MSMEs could implement accounting records independently. The results of this activity show that all participants are proficient in using the SIAPIK Application. However, even though they have been provided with training and assistance, not all MSMEs carry out financial records regularly and comprehensively. This shows that there are internal obstacles among MSMEs that must be overcome. The conclusion from this activity is that intensive training and mentoring are very effective in improving the ability of MSMEs to use the SIAPIK Application. However, additional efforts are needed to achieve consistent financial records, such as providing incentives or ongoing support. The next recommended activity is to hold periodic follow-up sessions to monitor developments and motivate MSMEs to continue carrying out financial records in a disciplined manner using the SIAPIK Application.

Abstract

Community health education is crucial, including education on the rational use of antibiotics, as well as halal food and medicine. Additionally, providing free medical treatment has a significant impact, encouraging the community to prioritize health and maintain it as a primary concern. This community service project was conducted in the Desa Perkampungan Adat Sijunjung. The objective of this activity is to maintain and improve the community's health status. One way to achieve this is through community service activities. The service involved educational sessions on medicines and health, as well as free medical treatment, in collaboration with the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Andalas. The education targeted pregnant women and the elderly, focusing on proper medication selection, rational use of antibiotics, and education on halal medicines and food. Free medical treatment involved specialist doctors and pharmacists, who also provided counseling on medications to patients. The results of the activity showed high community enthusiasm, with more than 100 prescriptions filled. The education on the rational use of medications, particularly antibiotics, is expected to increase community awareness and knowledge. This activity also highlights the importance of pharmacists in providing patient-oriented pharmaceutical services, as well as the importance of promotional and preventive efforts in maintaining public health. It can be concluded that free medical treatment is expected to encourage the community to be more health-conscious and less fearful of seeking medical care.

Abstract

Beef cattle are one of the livestock animals that produce meat with high economic value. In general, development faces many challenges because cattle farming is still managed traditionally by the community. Good Farming Practices (GFP) are guidelines for farmers in conducting livestock farming businesses. The objectives of this activity are: to increase the community's knowledge about the application of good farming practices (GFP) to beef cattle to improve production performance and increase community income. This activity was conducted with the Mak Uniang Livestock Group in Rindang Alam, Koto Luar Village, Pauh District, Padang City. The method used is PRA (Participatory Rural Appraisal), where partner lecturers directly act as facilitators and can immediately facilitate the community/partners in the implementation of activities. The learning method used to achieve the target activities is the participatory method. The partners of this activity are the Mak Uniang livestock group and the community in Rindang Alam, Koto Luar Village, Pauh District, Padang City. The stages of the activity include socialization/extension, which consists of presenting material and discussions. The material provided includes good livestock management (good farming practices). This activity received a very positive response and enthusiasm from the farmers. This is reflected in the farmers' interest in asking questions and their desire for technical guidance to promote sustainable farming. Additionally, the results of this activity show an increase in knowledge, understanding, and skills of the partners in implementing good farming practices (GFP) for beef cattle. The farmers have even committed to implementing what was conveyed by the speakers regarding the application of good farming to their cattle.
