Abstract

The research was motivated by the lack of optimal learning which focuses on developing elementary school students' Mathematical problem-solving abilities. The aim of this research is to describe problems related to the development of elementary school students' mathematical problem-solving abilities based on teachers' views. Qualitative descriptive is the method in this research with research subjects being five elementary school teachers in Padang City. The instrument used in the form of a validated questionnaire refers to four indicators, namely learning innovation (learning by problem-solving), non-routine questions, implementing problem-solving steps using metacognitive guidance techniques, and implementing learning using models. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. It was found that the problems faced by teachers in developing mathematical problem-solving abilities in elementary schools resulted: in (1) low students' ability to understand problems; (2) low students' self-confidence in solving problems; (3) students' thinking and analytical abilities. students' abilities are weak; (4) students are not yet accustomed to learning that develops problem-solving skills, as evidenced by students having difficulty determining what steps to take when facing problems; and (6) teachers have difficulty conditioning students who are noisy when given mathematical problems.

Abstract

Blora has enormous local historical potential. For example, the Hisyudindricus elephant fossil is the only ancient elephant fossil in the world that was found intact in the tropics. Also Kidang caveman fossils, Homo Sapiens from Ngandong, the History of the 5th Sultan of Demak (Duke Aryo Penangsang from Jipang Panolan), Saminism movement, oil history, R.M. Tirto Adhi Suryo (Father of the National Press) and Pramoedya Ananta Toer. The potential of local history has not been conveyed in learning systematically so the benefits of local history as character building, local identity characteristics, pride in the past and awareness of appreciation in students do not grow. Therefore, efforts are made to use the CTL approach to teach local history in sixth-grade elementary school. During the implementation of learning, research was carried out using a quantitative approach. The experimental design used was Post Test Only Control Group Design in the control and experimental classes. The comparison of the averages of the two classes was tested using the "t-test" and the results were that the CTL model was significantly used to integrate local history in sixth-grade elementary school.

Abstract

Understanding by Design (UBD) is a recommended learning model in the independent learning curriculum. The issue in this study is that Indonesia is a country of a million disasters so it is important to have broad insights related to disasters and their mitigation. The reality is that students still lack insight into disasters and their mitigation. The purpose of the study was to improve the disaster literacy of students using the UBD learning model with pop-up book media. Quantitative methods were used in the study. This study uses a quasi-experimental design, namely a non-equivalent Control Group Design. Data collection techniques using tests and observations Analysis used in this study using Inferential statistics of T-test test. The population in this study was SD N Percobaan Padang, West Sumatra which had a sample of 42 students divided into a control class and an experimental class. The result of the application of the UBD model is the result of statistical analysis with a t-test showing that the value of the t coefficient is 19,252 with a df of 20 and a p-value of 0.00. The coefficient is p-value<y= 0.05.  Demikian, it can be concluded that the test rejects H0 or accepts H1.  The test results have a significant influence on UBD's learning model with pop-up book media on increasing student disaster literacy. The conclusion of this study is to use the UBD learning model with pop-up book media to increase disaster literacy in elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of internalizing disciplinary character values to foster a positive culture in the school environment. The type of this research was a Mixed-methods experimental design with the subjects SD Negeri 11 and 36 Lubuklinggau students to collect data by applying internalization of disciplinary character values in school. The instruments are interview forms, questionnaires of students' knowledge and attitudes, and questionnaires internalizing disciplinary character values. Data reduction, data presentation, data analysis, interpretation, conclusion drawing and verification are all steps in the analysis of qualitative data. Quantitative data from the experimental class to the control class were evaluated as descriptive statistics. The findings show that empirical models in the development of student disciplinary character require consistency because, in schools, teachers are not used to collaborating with students to correct existing mistakes but can only provide punishment. Respondents (75.00%) rated the interaction, internalization of discipline, class agreement criteria, teacher control, more than half of respondents (56.25%), and positive discipline (86.11%). The RAI Index score was 6.60. This study offers important insights into the roles of classroom agreement, teacher control, and positive discipline in predicting different types of value regulation, including external, introjection, identified, and integrated regulation. This is an intriguing finding.
