Abstract

Mallory-Weiss syndrome (MWS), which is characterized by bleeding due to mucosal rupture at the gastroesophageal junction, accounts for 1% to 4% of cases with upper gastrointestinal system (GIS) bleeding. Mallory-Weiss tear (MWS) is characterized by longitudinal mucosal lacerations (intra-mural dissection) in the distal esophagus and proximal stomach. These tears usually result from a sudden increase in intra-abdominal pressure. During pregnancy, MWS can develop because of hyperemesis gravidarum in the first trimester, and the volume of bleeding is such that it can be controlled through spontaneous hemostasis. However, reports of third trimester pregnancies complicated by MWS are rare

Abstract

The birth process is a physiological event. Every mother who will give birth will experience pain as a manifestation of the baby's birth process. The effects of pain experienced by the mother will cause anxiety which often has a negative impact on birth outcomes. Many ways to deal with anxiety during labor are related to reducing pain, but only a few have researched the effect of spiritual guidance on reducing this pain. This study aims to assess the effect of spiritual guidance on the level of anxiety in mothers in the first stage of active labor. This study used a one-group pretest and post-test pre-experimental design on 71 mothers in the first active phase of labor. Anxiety levels were measured using the Hamilton Rating Scale for Anxiety (HSRA). The statistical analysis used is Wilcoxon. The results of the study found that there was a decrease in anxiety from before and after being given spiritual support to mothers in the first stage of labor. It is very important to provide childbirth support such as spiritual guidance to birth mothers in reducing their anxiety levels

Abstract

Exclusive breasfeeding is one of the Sustainable Development Goals programs that aim to provide good nutrition for babies naturally. Given the far-reaching benefits of exclusive breastfeeding for babies, mothers and the economy, concerted efforts are needed to meet the World Health Assembly (WHA) target of at least 50% exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months by 2025. The exclusive breastfeeding coverage rate is still far from the expectations removed. This is to be expected as only 1 in 2 babies under 6 months are exclusively breastfed. This shows that almost 50% of Indonesia's child population does not receive the nutrition they need in the first two years of life. The WHO reports that more than 40% of infants were introduced to complementary foods before the age of 6 months and were given food that did not meet their nutritional needs. The aim of this study is to analyze factors related with successful in exclusive breastfeeding during a pandemic. This research is an observational, analytic, cross-sectional study. The sample in this study were mothers whom have toddlers aged 6-18 months from January 2020 to July 2021. The number of samples is 138 people. Data analysis will use the Chi Square test, fisher, and logistic regression. The results showed that the spacing pregnancy (p value = 0.010), Covid-19 infection during delivery or breastfeeding (p value = 0.017), and knowledge (p value = 0.013) had a significant relationship with exclusive breastfeeding. The dominant factor influencing exclusive breastfeeding is knowledge. The probability of logistic regression is seen with a value of 0.99

Bivariate analysis in the form of categorical correlative using t-test, The research population was all students of the Bachelor of Midwifery Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Andalas University, semester III. The sample is part or representative of the population studied. Based on the statistical approach, the sample size is determined by the statistical model that will be used to test the hypothesis. In this study the statistical test that will be used is the t-test for paired data. How to take samples using total sampling. Control group students were equipped with clinical skills with knowledge, general skills and special skills.
