Abstract

Profit growth is considered very important for companies because it can be used to predict future business strategies. In addition, profit growth cannot be separated from the company's financial performance as reflected in financial ratios. This research aims to determine and analyze the influence of the current ratio, debt-to-equity ratio, net profit margin, and total asset turnover toward profit growth. The population in this study was 79 property & real estate companies for three years, while the sample was obtained through a purposive sampling method, namely 20 companies. The data analysis technique used in this research is multiple regression analysis using Eviews 9 software. The results showed that partially, CR and NPM had no significant effect on profit growth, while DER and TAT had a significant effect on profit growth. Simultaneously, all independent variables, namely CR, DER, NPM, and TAT affect profit growth. The predictive ability of the four independent variables simultaneously amounted to 33.8%. This shows the predictive ability of financial ratios on profit growth and can influence investors’ investment decisions.

Abstract

The phenomenon of online transportation in Indonesia has indeed been rampant for the last ten years due to increasingly sophisticated technological developments. The presence of PT Gojek Indonesia as a startup engaged in the field of online transportation has received a positive response from Gen-Z circles. This can be seen from the several services that PT Gojek Indonesia continues to develop so that in the end, there are 22 on-demand services that users can enjoy. This study aims to determine the indicators of Gen-Z consumer needs preferences in measuring brand alignment and how PT Gojek Indonesia will carry out the strategy to create the brand identity and brand advocacy for Gen-Z. The quantitative method used in this research uses the Partial Least Square Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM) analysis technique. The critical finding of this study is that three exogenous variables (Brand Alignment, Brand Identity, and Brand Advocacy) positively and significantly affect consumer needs. However, this study has yet to explore consumer needs by adopting a comprehensive theory. Therefore, future research on brand alignment, identity, and advocacy, should discuss in more detail the sides of consumer needs by taking into account relevant theories, such as Maslow’s theory of markets and consumer behavior.

Abstract

The manufacturing sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) has experienced a decline in performance that could be attributed to its ownership structure. Besides, Indonesian manufacturing companies rank highly among foreign debt borrowers, with a total debt of US$ 392.6 billion, as reported by Bank Indonesia's Foreign Debt Statistics (SULNI) emphasizing the importance of analyzing their capital structure to understand their financial health, as it is influenced by their debt and capital holdings. This study aims to thoroughly examine the pivotal roles of ownership structure and capital structure in shaping the future trajectory of companies in Indonesia's manufacturing sector, with a specific focus on how their financial decision-making affects their performance. This study analyzed data from 97 listed companies on the IDX over five years (2017-2021) using a statistical method called panel regression. The findings indicate that the way a company is owned does not significantly influence its performance. However, the study does uncover that capital structure, measured by DAR, negatively impacts ROA without affecting ROE. On the other hand, the capital structure measured by DER negatively impacts ROE without affecting ROA. Firm size plays a significant and positive role in influencing company performance as a control variable.
