Abstract

This research aims to find out the effect of problem based learning model with eksperiment method on the student’s results of learning physics of grade X SMAN 1 Gunungsari regency west Lombok in academic year 2014/2015. This research is a quasi eksperiment with pretest posttest control group design. The population of this research is students of grade X SMAN 1 Gunungsari, with cluster random sampling technique was obtained students of grade X5 as the experiment group and students of grade X2 as control group. The result of learning is analized by using t-test polled varians, was obtained 9,25 for thint and 1,99 for ttable with significant 5%. Because thint > ttable, then Ho will be rejected and Ha will be accepted. So can be concluded that available effect of problem based learning model with eksperiment method on the student’s results of learning physics of grade X SMAN 1 Gunungsari regency west Lombok in academic year 2014/2015.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of learning model Conceptual Understanding Procedures LKPD assisted on the ability of solving physics problems of high school students. This research is a quasi experimental research using untreated control group design with pretest and posttest. The population is all students of class XI IPA SMAN 4 Mataram. While the sampling using purposive sampling technique consisting of students class XI IPA 4 as experimental class and students of class XI IPA 1 as a control class. The problem solving capability data is obtained through a written test in the form of a description item. The result of hypothesis test analysis shows that there is influence of learning model of LKPD-assisted Conceptual Understanding Procedures toward the ability of problem solving physics.

Abstract

Misconception is one of the cause of students' learning difficulties, especially on physics. Misconceptions experienced by students needs to be diagnosed and its results used to improve learning. Its result should be delivered to students to help them learn better, so that these misconceptions can be corrected. In this regard, it should be developed diagnostic instruments which can provide information quickly and accurately one of them is a three-tier test. The aim of this study was to investigate whether the three-tier test able to identify student misconceptions. The sample of this study was 136 students of senior high school in Malang. Besides using written tests, interviews were conducted on several students to verify the results of the three-tier test. Conclusions of this study is the three-tier test that has been developed on Temperature and Heat topic is able to identify misconceptions students quickly and accurately.

Abstract

Scaffolding thinking approach is a specific method to facilitate students in determining cause and effect of phenomenon and identifying each cause happen in which assist are given. This research aims to investigate the effect of worksheet assisted causalitic thinking type 2a scaffolding modified approach toward student`s problem solving ability (PSA) and creativity among second grade student at SMAN 1 Mataram. This research is a quasi experimental with research design is pretest posttest control group. The population in this research are all students of XI Sains with sampling method is purposive sampling. Problem solving ablility measured using PSA test. Meanwhile, creativity measured using verbal and figural test. Problem solving ability and creativity analyzed using t-test separated varians with 5% significant level. The result of hypothesis test for problem solving ability is obtained tcount > ttable and for creativity obtained tcount < ttable. Based on the analysis result, it can be concluded that: (1) there is an effect of worksheet assisted causalitic thinking type 2a scaffolding modified approach toward the student`s problem solving ability in optical geometry. (2) there is no effect of worksheet assisted causalitic thinking type 2a scaffolding modified approach toward student`s creativity.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop a physics learning tools with Moodle that can be used on students in physics courses. The type of this research is Research and Development (R & D). Research and Development is a process or steps to develop a new product or refine an existing product, which can be accounted for. Broadly speaking, the R & D’s steps consisted of three stages, namely: preliminary study, design/model development, and model testing. The subject of this research is a student of Department of Physics Education at FPMIPA IKIP Mataram who is studying at Odd Semester Academic Year 2016/2017. Based on the validation of physics learning tools with Moodle, it obtained products that have been validated with a good categorized score and can be used for the next stage. The development of Moodle-based learning tools developed was complemented by textbooks, Moodle guides, and assessment instruments.

Abstract

This research is aimed to tests (1) the effect of cooperative model learning in group investigation (GI) type toward the students learning physics result observed from students’ learning technique, (2) the effect of students learning strategy toward students’ learning physics result, (3) the interaction of cooperative model learning in group investigation (GI) type toward students learning strategy toward students learning physics result. This type of research is quasi experiment with factorial design  research program. The population of this research is all of the XI IPA class of SMAN 8 Mataram. The source sample of this research is using cluster random sampling technique.  Hence, XI IPA 3 class has been chosen as experiment class and XI IPA 5 as control class. The collecting data of students’ learning result done by using multiple choice questions with 74.1 mean score of experiment class and 65,4 mean score for control class and measure students’ learning strategy by giving learning strategy questionnaire. Hypothesis tested using ANAVA two ways with 5% significant standard. The result of first hypothesis shows that 22,85 for fcount that bigger than 4,03 ftable means that there is a effect of cooperative model learning in group investigation (GI) type toward students’ learning physics result. While the second hypothesis shows that 25,05 fcount bigger than 4,03 ftable there is a effect of cooperative model learning in group investigation (GI) type toward students’ learning physics result. Last, hypothesis shows that 4,57 fcount bigger than 3,18 ftable means there is an the interaction of cooperative model learning in group investigation (GI) type toward students’ learning strategy toword students realning physics result.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the results of the implementation of learning methods namely real experiments and virtual experiments on learning physics in SMAN 1 Kediri. In the real experiment method three-dimensional media is used, whereas in the virtual experiment method computer simulation in the form of Physics Education Technology (PhET) is used. Learning tools used consist of syllabus, learning implementation plans, subject matter books, learning media, student worksheets, and learning outcome tests. Test subjects are limited to learning devices using learning methods namely real experiments and virtual experiments are students of Class XI Science 1 in SMA 1 Kediri Academic Year 2017/2018. The learning model applied is inquiry with 6 stages, namely identification and formulation of problems, formulation of hypotheses, data collection, data interpretation, development of conclusions, repetition. Learning activities are carried out in 4 meetings. Assessment of the implementation of learning using a scale of 4 with criteria that is a score of 12 to 16 including very good criteria, a score of 8 to 11 including good criteria, scores 4 to 7 including poor criteria, and scores less than 4 including bad criteria. Based on the data analysis obtained the average value of learning implementation for 4 meetings is equal to 14. Thus it can be concluded that the implementation of learning methods namely real experiments and virtual experiments on learning Physics at SMAN 1 Kediri are very good criteria.

Abstract

In-situ permeability is an important factor in determining whether an economical drilling oil wells to be mined. Therefore, the calculation in determining the true value of permeability with an attempt to take a further decision, whether the industry is continued or not. Research through study literature is obtained a mathematical modeling from Matheu and Toksoz's work which contains the components of acoustic wavesattenuation factor and rock permeability factor. Furthermore, by combining some of the concepts and theories, mathematical models are used for acoustic field data logs and other data which are required to get permeability. Data from the acoustic log is analyzed to determine the time delay for P, S and Stoneley waves, then determination of the speed, frequency and attenuation factor, especially for wave Stoneley. In this permeability calculations, it is assumed that the condition of the rock formations in the area of measurement is a permeable rock and contains fractures. The results show that the permeability in measurement area at a depth position indicates suitable with the data of rock state.

Abstract

This class action research aims to enhance the learning outcomes of the 6th graders of SD Negeri 6 Mataram in their science lesson by corporating Science KIT in teaching and learning activities inside the classroom. The research was conducted in 2 cycles, each of which included 4 different steps, namely, Planning, Action, Observation, and Reflection. After the research, it is shown that the average learning outcomes and classical completeness for the first cycle are 84,7 and 84%, while the average learning outcomes and classical completeness for the second cycle are 88,4 and 94% respectively. This thus shows an improvement in the students’ learning outcomes, especially related to electrical and thermal energy. This conclusion is drawn after looking at the fact that 94% of the students score more than 75 in the test. This result is only obtained after the science KIT has already been applied in Science Lesson inside the classroom.

Abstract

This is an experimental research. This research aim to examine the effect of ASSURE learning model and prior knowledge on science learning outcome in class VIII of SMPN 22 Mataram. The population is entire students in class VIII SMPN 22 Mataram with VIIIB as experiment class and VIIIC as control class. Both divided into high and low prior knowldege group. This research use factorial design 2x2. Hypothesis test use two ways anava. We got that (1) learning model take significant effect on learning outcome that ASSURE model get higher score than konventional model, (2) prior knowledge take significant effect on learning out come that higher prior knowledge get higher score than the low one, and (3) there is no interaction between learning model and prior knowledge on learning outcome. N-Gain test shown that high prior knowledge of ASSURE class get most improvement result and low pior knowledge of conventional class get worst. It is better to continue this ASSURE learning model in research using another student characterictic analyze. High prior knowledge experiment class get improvement result in all sub-chapter. Low prior knowledge experiment class and high prior knowledge control class get most improvement in wave characteristic. Low prior knowledge control class get most improvement in vibration characteristic.
