Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of economic growth on the level of development inequality between provinces in Indonesia. The research method used is multiple linear regression analysis with OLS (ordinary least squares). The results of the analysis show that the inequality of economic development between provinces in Indonesia in 2005-2019 is relatively high because every year there is a significant increase, this fact is in line with the Neoclassical theory. Economic growth, poverty rate and population have a positive effect on inequality in economic development. The policy implication is that the provincial government in Indonesia should pay attention to sectors that absorb labor as a contribution to the level of economic growth and empower small communities.

Abstract

The study aims to determine the effect of the money supply and exchange rates on rice prices with inflation as an intervening variable. Secondary data is time series 2015-2019 from BPS and BI, and is analyzed using a path analysis model which is an extension of multiple linear regression. The results showed that the money supply had a negative and significant effect on inflation, while the exchange rate had a positive and insignificant effect on inflation. Another finding is that the money supply has a positive and significant effect on rice prices, the exchange rate has a negative and insignificant effect on rice prices, and inflation has a negative and significant effect on rice prices. The third finding is that inflation as an intervening variable only mediates the money supply to the price of rice.

Abstract

In making a decision to buy shares in the stock market, an investor must know the analytical methods involved in stock investing. One of the methods used is technical analysis. This study aims to determine the comparison of stock returns generated using the Bollinger Band, Parabolic SAR, and Stochastic Oscillator indicators. This type of research is a quantitative approach with a comparative method. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, in order to obtain 14 companies. The results show that the indicators of Bollinger Band, Parabolic SAR, and Stochastic Oscillator can be used as guidelines in determining the buying and selling of stocks to get optimal returns.

The data used collected from the monthly reports of Islamic mutual funds for the period 2016-2018, and then analyzed using panel data regression method. The total number of data was 44 from Indonesia and 46 from Malaysia. The results of statistical tests show that the operational performance and size of Islamic mutual funds have no effect on the performance of Islamic mutual funds both in Indonesia and in Malaysia. Meanwhile, the age of mutual funds is proven to have a significant negative effect on the performance of Islamic mutual funds in Indonesia, but on the contrary it is identified as having a significant positive effect on the performance of Islamic mutual funds in Malaysia. Furthermore, this study did not find any significant differences between the performance of Islamic mutual funds in Indonesia and Malaysia

Abstract

This study aims to determine government policies and their impact on plastic waste management in Jayapura City in 2017-2020. The study was conducted at the Environmental and Cleanliness Office. Using qualitative data analysis methods, the study involved 230 community respondents. The results indicate that the majority of the public consider the Jayapura City government's policy on plastic waste management to have been able to reduce the amount of plastic waste. However, there are still many community members who think that the provincial government has not been able to fully reduce the amount of plastic waste, and believe that the policy is not able to reduce plastic waste in the city. Based on the results obtained, it is hoped that this policy can also be applied in traditional markets so that it can further reduce the use of plastic bags and reduce plastic waste in Jayapura City.

Abstract

The paradigm of development of a country today is not only measured by the rate of economic growth, but also by paying attention to human development. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of minimum wages, poverty and unemployment on the Human Development Index (HDI) in districts/cities in East Java Province. The method used is panel data regression in 38 districts/cities in East Java in 2010/2018. The results showed partially, the minimum wage has a positive and significant effect, poverty has a negative but not significant effect, and unemployment has a negative and significant effect, toward HDI. Simultaneously, the results found that the three independent variables (i.e.: minimum wage, poverty and unemployment) had a significant effect on HDI.

Abstract

This article is based on the results of research, focused on the activities of hawker traders along Cut Nyak Dhien Street, Langsa City. There are more than seventy street vendors with various types of merchandise. The research aims to determine the role of the informal sector street vendors of economically weak groups in obtaining employment, the prospect of developing a culinary tourism business on family economic growth, and additional sources of local revenue. Data obtained through observation, interviews and documentation, and then processed using descriptive analysis techniques. The analysis results showed that street vendors in urban areas are a popular alternative to work. This condition is in synergy with the government program that arranges this area as a center for culinary tourism and is very helpful for traders to increase family income, as well as having an impact on increasing visitors and increasing local income.

Abstract

Population growth and development can lead to excesses for the emergence of slum areas, which are often seen as a potential problem in urban areas. To reduce the problems of housing and slum areas, one of the government programs is the City Without Slum (in Indonesia called KOTAKU) program. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the program in Langsa City and identify the inhibiting factors of this program. 166 respondents were all village chiefs in Langsa City, community members who were directly or indirectly involved in the program, as well as other stakeholders. Primary data were collected through a questionnaire. The effectiveness evaluation is calculated using the mean value as a percentage of each indicator. The results found that the KOTAKU program was considered effective as an effort to reduce slum settlements in Langsa City. However, several factors were identified that were the main obstacles in the implementation of the program.

Abstract

The performance of the midwife as part of the human resources owned by the hospital will affect the performance of the health service institution concerned as a whole. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of individual characteristics (including age, years of service, employment status, skills, and motivation) and extrinsic factors (including rewards, workload, supervision, and training) on the performance of midwives. This explanatory survey research used all of the midwives who served in the inpatient obstetrics room at Langsa Hospital, amounting to 47 people as respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed by logistic regression method. The results showed that employment status, skills and motivation from individual characteristics as well as supervision and training from extrinsic factors had a significant effect on the performance of midwives. Furthermore, motivation was identified as the dominant variable influencing the performance of midwives.
