Abstract

Sub soil is soil under the top soil layer, with low fertility. The use of sub soil as an Arabica coffee seedling planting media needs to be considered because the top soil layer has been much reduced by erosion or run off. Needs modification in sub-soil soils to increase fertility. Increased sub soil fertility can be done using organic materials, both solid and liquid. Coffee seedling using the right planting media will determine the growth and production of coffee in the field later. The purpose of this study was to determine the use of subsoil growing media with the addition of organic material for the growth of Arabica coffee seeds. The experiment was conducted at the Ciparanje Experimental Field, Faculty of Agriculture, Padjadjaran University, Sumedang Regency, in March to June 2019 with altitude of ± 780 meters above sea level. The experiment used a randomized block design (RBD) with 9 treatments repeated three times. The treatments are as follows: 100% topsoil; subsoil 100%; topsoil: chicken manure (2: 1); subsoil: chicken manure (1: 1); subsoil: chicken manure (2: 1); subsoil: chicken manure (3: 1); subsoil + 25% coconut water; subsoil + 50% coconut water; subsoil + 75% coconut water. The results showed that the modification of subsoil with the addition of organic matter affected the growth of Arabica coffee seedlings on stem diameter variables of 8 MST and leaf chlorophyll index of 16 MST. Subsoil media with the addition of chicken manure (3: 1) had a good effect on leaf chlorophyll index and subsoil media with 25% coconut water had a good effect on the diameter of Arabica coffee seedling stems. Subsoil can replace topsoil by adding organic matter.

Abstract

The research has aim at to know relationship between  the socio economic factors and managerial competence and and it’s infuence to the breeder’s income.    The method was  used by survey technique toward the breeders.  The Sampling technique was used by simple random sampling method by using slovin formula, carried out 70 units. The data was analyze by the  path analyze to  verify  the hypothesis. The result of the research that was the relationship strongly between  the influence of socio economic factors and managerial competence shown by the coeficient of corellation r = 0,77.  The economic factors has  the indicators : age, formal education, knowledge, experience, dependency ratio,  motivation of business and scale of business has gained 78,53% citeria good.  Managerial competence of breeder has  indicators: data recording,  milking technique , livestock health, feed, mating,cowshed, man power and marketing  obtained   78,94 %,  criteria good.  The  socio economic factors and managerial competence of breeder give  a positive influence to the breeder income.    The contribution of managerial competence  shown greater than The  socio economic factors. Each other contribution are  33,11 % and  20,70 %.

Abstract

Flower cabbage is a vegetable crop that is widely consumed by the people of Indonesia. For growth, it can be helped by providing egg shells that are environmentally friendly when compared with chemical fertilizers. This study used a Randomized Block Design with five doses of eggshell treatment (0,6,12,18,24 grams / plant) with five replications each. The results of the research are: The application of eggshell fertilizer which has a significant influence on the number of leaves aged 35 dd, and on the flower weight per plant. And the dose of eggshell fertilizer that gives the best treatment E (2.0 g / plant) with a yield of 301.53 g / plant.

Abstract

The important thing in coffee plantation ventures is when preparing coffee seeds such as Sigarar debt and line S 795. Planting Media plays an important role to get good seeds. Bioaktivator Gliocladium sp which is a fungus that can accelerate the process of decomposition of organic matter in nature. The method of research used is experimental design. Research conducted in Plantation PPPPTK Agriculture Cianjur Ministry of Education and Culture. The research draft using a separate tile experiment (Split Plot design) consists of two treatments. The first treatment (main plot) consists of 2 of the Varitas Sigarar debt and line S 795. The second treatment (plot) consists of 5 levels. There are 10 treatment combinations and each of them is 3 repeats so there are 30 units of trial. The number of seeds in research 1500 plants. The free variable i.e. the main tile (v) consists of 2 levels namely V1 = Debt Sigarar Varieties v2 = varieties of line S 795. Child Tile (d) consists of 5 levels ie D0 = 0 gr/kg media cropping (control), D1 = 1 gr/kg of media cropping, D2 = 2 G gr/kg of media planting, D3 = 3 gr/kg of media planting, D4 = 4 gr/kg of planting media. The use of Sigararutang varieties and lines 795 S and the bioactivator dose of Gliocladiun there is no interaction. The results of the self-test varieties all the parameters do not differ real only on the high parameter plant variety line S 795 gives a different plant height than the Sigararutang varieties.  Self-test result dose of bioaktiovator Gliocladium SP dose 4 gr/kg of medium gives high results on all parameters. On the parameters of wet-weights plant dose Bioaktiovator Gliocladium sp not differ in real. Optimum dose of Bioaktiovator Gliocladium sp which produces maximum dry weight respectively on each coffee varieties at a dose of 4 gr/kg of media on the Sigararutang varieties provide a dry weight of 2.42 grams, higher than in line S 795 of 2.24 grams.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the performance of Indonesian maize and tuber production and forward linkages with the agro-industry sector. Through this research it can be seen the role of maize and tuber commodities in the Indonesian economy. The results showed that corn production increased by 91.24% during the period 2000-2013, with an average growth of 5.22% per year. Tuber production consisting of cassava increased by 27.44% over the period 2000-2013 with an average growth of 2.91% per year, and sweet potatoes increased by 30.59% with an average of 2.18% per year. The domestic output of the corn sector increased from Rp. 855,554 million in 1985 to Rp. 74,817,036 million in 2008 and the tuber sector increased from Rp. 1,798,023 million in 2000 to Rp. 29,209,547 million in 2008. Transactions in the corn sector line and tubers showed a significant increase during the 1985-2008 period, from six transactions to 14 transactions. An increase in the forward linkages between the corn sector and the agro-industry sector from 0.188 to 0.258 in the period 2005-2008, showed an increase in the contribution of the corn sector as an intermediate input for the agro-industry sectors, while in the tuber sector there was no increase.

Abstract

Coconut water contains natural auxin growth regulators which are useful in stimulating root cuttings. This study aims to obtain the optimum of concentration of coconut water on the roses of cutting. The research was conducted from August to October 2018, in Pasir Sereh Village, Cihideung Village, Parompong District, West Bandung Regency, West Java Province. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 6 treatments and 4 replications, namely A (Control), B (Concentration of 10% Coconut Water), C (Concentration of 20% Coconut Water), D (30% Concentration of Coconut Water), E (40% Concentration of Coconut Water), F (50% Concentration of Coconut Water). The parameters measured in this study were germination age, number of shoots, number of leaves, leaf area, root length, and root volume. The results showed no concentration optimum of coconut water which had a good effect on the growth shoot and root of stem cuttings of roses. At concentrations of 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, and 50%, the growth shoot and root of rose cuttings was not different effect that without treatment.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of EC value (Electrical Conductivity) which is able to provide the best production of Red Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) Red Rapid Variety on the Floating Raft Hydroponic System. The experiment was conducted in a green house located in Sukaluyu Village, Telukjambe Timur District, Karawang Regency, from October to December 2016. The study used a randomized block design, consisting of 4 treatments, repeated 6 times, namely A (EC 0.5 - 1.5 mS / cm), B (EC 1.5 - 2.5 mS / cm), C (EC 2 , 5 - 3,5 mS / cm), D (EC 3,5 - 4,5 mS / cm) Data were analyzed using analysis of variance and further tests with Duncans multiple range test at 5% level. The number of plants for each treatment plot was 6 plants. The experimental results show that different EC (Electrical Conductivity) values have significantly different effects on the average plant height, 7, 14, 21, 28, 35 and 42 HST, the average number of leaves 21, 28, 35 and 42 HST , average stem diameter 7, 14, 21, 28, 35 and 42 days, average leaf area per plant, and average fresh weight per plant. The EC value of 3.5 - 4.5 mS / cm gives the highest production on the average fresh weight per lettuce plant (158.66 g), equivalent to 31.73 tons / ha.

Abstract

Subterranean termites are a group of termite that causes economical loss in the timber and crop cultivation business. In Indonesia, subterranean termites are found attacking garden plants and forest plants such as coconut tree, cocoa tree, palm oil tree, and pine tree. Besides, subterranean termites also damage a lot of construction buildings which are made from wood. In Indonesia, it is difficult to effectively prevent the growth of subterranean termite. One of methods to improve wood durability towards subterranean termite threat is to preserve the wood. Sengon tree bark extract, soursop leaf and tobacco leaf are considered to be used as natural preservatives. This research is aimed to find out the effect of extractives of sengon wood, soursop leaf, and tobacco leaf on the mortality of subterranean termite, and this research is aimed to find out which extract substance that has the most retention, mostly affects subterranean termite mortality, and has the least weight loss. This research used an experimental method carried out in the laboratory, using a complete randomized design design, with four treatments that were repeated five times.\ The results showed that the extractives of sengon bark, soursop leaves and tobacco leaves had an effect on reducing the mortality rate of soil termites but were not significantly different in the retention rate. However, tobacco leaf extractive substance has the most effect in reducing the intensity of subterranean termite invasion and causing the least damage.
