Abstract

Agricultural development in rural areas not only increases production, but also increases people's income, opens up more job opportunities, and improves welfare. This research aims to analyze farmer household income, farmer household expenditure, and the level of welfare of rice farmer households in Cadaskertajaya Village, Telagasari District, Karawang Regency. The research method used is Mix Method, with primary and secondary data types. Primary data was collected through interviews using questionnaires from 47 rice farmers. Secondary data was obtained from the Central Statistics Agency, Karawang Regency Agricultural Service, Cadaskertajaya Village, and other institutions. Samples were taken using the proportional random sampling method, with the criteria being farmer owners and farm workers. Data analysis uses the Directorate of Land Use's criteria poverty line for household income, the Sayogyo criteria poverty line for household expenditure, and welfare indicators from BPS. The research results show that the average household income of rice farmers in Cadaskertajaya Village is IDR 34,582,351.69 per year and IDR 8,124,446.81 per capita per year. The household expenditure of rice farmers is IDR 25,380,255.32 per year and IDR 8,413,937.59 per capita per year. Based on the poverty line criteria of the Directorate of Land Use, 53.19% of farmers are not poor, and according to the Sayogyo criteria, 82.61% are not poor. The welfare level is calculated using 11 indicators from BPS, with the highest score being 33 and the lowest score being 27, which is still included in the high welfare category.

Abstract

The research was carried out in an experimental garden at the Faculty of Agriculture, Padjadjaran University, Jatinagor District, Sumedang Regency. The altitude of the place is 700 meters above sea level. This research was conducted from May to August 2022. The purpose of this study is to determine the interaction of foliar nutrition and fertilizer type on the growth and yield of large red chili plants (Capsicum annum L). The environmental design of this research is a Split Plot Design which consists of two treatments and is repeated four times. The main plot is the administration of a foliar nutrient solution (F) consisting of two levels: f0 (without administration) and f1 (one-time 10-day administration). The plot is a type of fertilizer (P) consisting of three levels: p1 cow manure 4 t ha-1 p2, Soil Conditioner Growth Booster (SCGB) 6 kg ha-1 and p3 ameliorant plus 4 t ha-1. The data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance with Duncan's double-spacing advanced test at a rate of 5%. The results showed that there was an interaction with growth (Plant height 1 Week After Planting (WAP), 2 WAP, 3 WAP, Number of leaves 3 WAP, stem diameter 2 WAP, 3 WAP, 4 WAP, 5 WAP) and yield (Weight per fruit). The best results were shown in foliar nutrition and SCGB administration against plant height growth of 2 WAP, 3 WAP, leaf count of 3 WAP and stem diameter of 3 WAP as well as foliar nutrition and ameliorant plus feeding of 5 WAP stem diameter. Types of ameliorant plus fertilizers that were not fed foliar nutrition show the best results against plant height growth of 1 WAP stem diameter of 2 WAP, 4 WAP and weight yield per fruit.

Abstract

Nursery planting media in smallholder oil palm plantations that are attacked by stem rot disease caused by Ganoderma sp do not receive special attention and it is not uncommon for farmers to use land around their oil palm plantations that is attacked by Ganoderma. This research aims to modify planting media infected with Ganoderma spp with Trichoderma spp input in the planting media for oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) nurseries in the Pre-Nursery. The research was conducted in the Greenhouse of the Indonesian Palm Oil Technology Institute in March 2024. Planting media material from the Ganoderma-infested People's palm oil plantations was taken from Kwala Pesilam village, Padang Tualang sub-district, Langkat district, North Sumatra Province. The design used in the research was a non-factorial Randomized Design with 5 (five) treatment levels, namely T01 (positive control) using soil infected with Ganoderma spp, T02 (negative control) using sterile soil, T1 = 5 grams of Trichoderma, T2 = 10 grams of Tricodherma and T3 = 15 grams of Trichoderma. The research results the application of Trichoderma 10 g/seed doses gave good results on average growth of oil palm seedlings and diseasesin seedlings are dominates by anthacnose

Abstract

Rice is a food crop that is widely consumed by Indonesian people. Water availability and environmental conditions greatly influence the growth of rice plants, so that climate change can affect the production and productivity of rice plants. Efforts to anticipate a decline in rice production and productivity due to climate change require a study by identifying climate variabels, analyzing the correlation between climate and rice plants, and identifying solutions to adapt to climate change. The research was conducted in Karawang Regency using quantitative-descriptive methods, with the data analyzed being climate variabels including rainfall, temperature, humidity from 1991-2022 and rice plant variabels including rice production and productivity from 1991-2022. The analysis was carried out using trend analysis, correlation, regression, auto-regressive integrated moving average methods, and farmer interviews as analyses of adaptation strategies. The results of the research show that climate change has occurred in Karawang Regency as indicated by a decrease in rainfall intensity of 41.84 mm, a decrease in humidity percentage of 4.69%, and an increase in temperature of 〖0,92 〗^o C, and the climate type according to Oldeman is type D2, or there is no change in Oldeman’s Agroclimate zone. The results of interviews for adaptations include rotating crop planting, managing planting time, using seeds that are resistant to pest attacks, paying attention to the type of fertilizer used, controlling pests using insecticides or natural predators, and pumping water for irrigation channels.

Abstract

Abiotic stresses caused by climate change can affect on the growth of coffee trees. The application of liquid Trichoderma spp. might stimulate growth and enhance plant defense mechanisms in suboptimal conditions. The purpose of this study was to Evaluating the physiological responses of Robusta coffee seedlings BP 939 and BP 308 and obtaining Robusta coffee seedlings that produce the best physiological responses under drought stress conditions against Trichoderma spp. applications in liquid medium. The experiment was carried out using a Randomized Group Design (RAG) with 8 treatments repeated 4 times, namely : coffea clone BP 939 control; coffea clone BP 308 control.; coffea clone BP 939 Trichoderma spp.; coffea clone BP 308 Trichoderma spp.; coffea clone BP 939 with drought; coffea clone BP 308 with drought; coffea clone BP 939 with drought + Trichoderma spp.; coffea clone BP 308 with drought + Trichoderma spp. The experiment results show that the application of Trichoderma spp. in liquid medium does not exhibit significant physiological responses, and the Robusta coffee seedlings of clones BP 939 and BP 308 show the same effect under drought stress conditions. However, the Robusta coffee clone BP 308 treated with Trichoderma spp. showed significant physiological responses at 12 hours after treatment.
