Abstract

One spice that has many functions and benefits is pepper. Pepper is widely cultivated by farmers involved in farmer groups. The role of farmer groups as institutions is able to coordinate the marketing of black pepper so as to improve the bargaining position of farmers. The aims of this study were to the potential of black pepper farmer groups in East Lampung. To obtain the necessary data, this research uses a survey method. The data used in this research are primary and secondary data, which are then processed using qualitative methods. The main data was collected through direct observation at the research location as well as in-depth interviews with 21 administrators and members of the Sido Makmur farmer group, which were conducted using questionnaires from June to October 2022. Data analysis to answer the objectives using qualitative descriptive analysis To analyze problems and analysis potentials faced by farmer groups in increasing market expansion using qualitative descriptive analysis and Focus Discussion Groups (FGD) in order to find internal factors (strengths and weaknesses) and external factors (opportunities and challenges) faced by farmer groups Sido Makmur in increasing the expansion of the black pepper market. The characteristics of farmers include the average age of productive age, the average level of formal education of junior and senior high school graduates, the average area of land cultivated by farmers is above 1 ha, as well as internal and external factors as strategic analysis variables (internal factors: farmer's social capital consists of social networks and good trust, institutions, sufficient group capacity, group characteristics in the form of capital, profits, and limited resources, and external factors: External Factors Policy, where several stakeholders have been assisted in the transfer of science and technology).

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of product innovation, supply chain management, and product quality on customer satisfaction in the organic food sector. A quantitative approach was employed using survey data collected from 120 organic food consumers in the Jabodetabek area. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis to determine the impact of each variable. The findings indicate that all three factors product innovation, supply chain management, and product quality have a significant and positive influence on customer satisfaction. Notably, innovations in eco-friendly packaging, product variety, and transparency in supply chain operations contribute significantly to enhancing customer perceptions and trust. These results underscore the critical role of integrated management practices and continuous product development in sustaining customer loyalty and satisfaction in the growing organic food market.

Abstract

Revitalizing oil palm smallholder plantations is crucial for improving yields and ensuring long-term sustainable development. Nevertheless, smallholders face numerous challenges, including limited financial resources, scarce access to essential inputs, and limitations in technical expertise. This research seeks to explore both the potential and the challenges associated with the renewal of smallholder oil palm plantations, focusing specifically on improvements in productivity and sustainable practices. A qualitative literature review approach was employed, synthesizing insights from prior academic studies, policy reports, and relevant publications. The analysis, conducted through thematic synthesis, highlights key factors influencing financial, technical, and environmental dimensions in the rejuvenation process. Findings indicate that while rejuvenation holds considerable promise for improving yields and advancing sustainable practices, persistent barriers remain, such as restricted financing options, inadequate technical capacity building, and environmental management concerns. However, smallholders involved in cooperative frameworks or sustainable supply chain initiatives tend to experience positive developments in both productivity and ecological outcomes. The study concludes that successful rejuvenation efforts demand a holistic strategy integrating financial support, technical assistance, and environmentally responsible farming methods. Further studies are suggested to investigate the prolonged socioeconomic effects of plantation rejuvenation and its contribution to strengthening ecological stability and participatory land management. By combining disparate findings from earlier research, this study offers a novel and integrative framework synthesis and suggests a new multidisciplinary framework to direct smallholder oil palm revival projects in a sustainable and repeatable manner.

Abstract

The paper assessed the fresh beef products consumer preference and consumption pattern in Jalingo Emirate communities of Nigeria. A sample of 300 respondents was drawn through random sampling method, and analysed by the use of descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis. Findings showed that majority of the fresh beef consumers were males within the age range of 20-50 years, and mostly singles. A larger proportion (49.00%) of the beef consumers had secondary school certificates. Occupationally, 34.00% of the respondents were traders earning between N21,000 and N70,000 only. Majority (77.33%) of the respondents consumed less than 2.00kg of beef monthly in the area. Most (74.00%) of the beef consumers eat the commodity at home with 40.00% of them consuming it 1-3 times weekly. The major determinants of fresh beef and its products consumption were age, monthly expenditure on substitutes, monthly income, price of beef, frequency of consumption and gender. The most experienced challenges for the beef consumers include outrageous cost of beef, unhygienic method of preparation and unwholesomeness of the beef. Institutions intending to minimise these constraints should assiduously work toward resolving these raised issues in the communities of the Emirate.

Abstract

This research is intended to examine the impact of technology adoption in work processes, emotional intelligence, and digital competence on the performance of the employees in agribusiness companies. Adopting the quantitative strategy with the survey technique, data were obtained from the surveys with the responses of 180 agribusiness employees. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the help of the SmartPLS 4 program has been used as the technique to conduct the analysis. The findings reveal the significant influence of technology adoption in work processes towards employee performance. It also indicates the significant influence of emotional intelligence, which validates the significance of the management of emotions in the face of modern work dynamics. Digital competence is found to be an essential prerequisite in maximizing the efficiency and productivity in work, especially in the application of agricultural information systems and IoT-based technologies. This research offers managerial implications in the form of recommendations to management in the agribusiness to put more emphasis on technology training as well as the soft skill development of employees. The research also enriches the knowledge with the integration of technological as well as psychological orientations existing in the context of agribusiness, which has remained relatively under-theorized empirically.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of digital literacy, government policy, and infrastructure on coffee productivity in Kerinci Regency. A descriptive and explanatory research design was applied using a quantitative approach. The study population consisted of 117 registered coffee farmers, and a sample of 90 respondents was determined using the Slovin formula with a 5% margin of error. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and field observations, complemented by secondary sources. The findings show that all three factors significantly affect coffee productivity. Digital literacy enables farmers to access agricultural information, adopt modern technologies, and expand market opportunities. Infrastructure improves efficiency by reducing production and distribution costs while enhancing connectivity. Among the factors, government policy has the strongest effect, particularly through training, certification, subsidies, and market promotion. These findings highlight that government policy, digital literacy, and infrastructure collectively play a crucial role in enhancing the productivity and competitiveness of coffee farmers.
