Abstract

Hidayat WH, Romansah E , Andriyani L, Kusuma MW, Kusuma ML, Thosin T, Umayah A, Gunawan B, Arsi A. 2022. Inventory of pest insects and predatory insects in long beans crops (Vigna sinensis L.) in Ogan Ilir District, South Sumatera. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 414-422. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Pest control on long bean plants by utilizing natural enemies is part of a control method that emphasizes ecological aspects that are safe and recommended. This study aimed to determine the presence and availability of insect pests and predatory insects in long bean plantations. The types of traps used in this study were Pitfall Trap, Yellow Trap, and Sweep Net. Observations and sampling were carried out in the vegetative phase of long bean plants in three villages: Tanjung Seteko, Tanjung Pering and Permata Villages. Then, the trapped insects were put into vials that had been given 70% alcohol and identified using identification guidebooks and journals. Based on the results of the research, the insect pests found were Agelastica alni, Aphis craccivora, Aulocophora similis, Aulacophora femoralis, Bactrocera triyoni, Bactrocera dorsalis, Nezara viridula, Proxys punctulatus, Riptortus linearis, Sehirus cenctus, Spodoptera litoralis, Maruca vitrata, Brachyplatys subaeneus, Dissosteira carolina. While the predatory insects found were Coccinella transversalis, Pantala flavescens, Proctacanthus milbertii, Stagmomantis carolina, Anax parthenope, Odontoponera denticulate and Oecophylla smaradigna. The highest number of insects obtained were from pests with a total of 14 species with the most from the order Hemiptera. Thus, the availability of insect pests and predators in long bean plantations is different because farmers apply synthetic insecticides so that pest insect species dominate. Based on the observations and analysis of the results, the authors suggest that this research can be redeveloped by making observations in two phases, namely the vegetative and generative phases.

Rokhmah DN, Supriadi H.  2022. Arabica Coffee Yield Under Several Types of Shade Trees. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang  27 Oktober 2022. pp. 97-104. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Arabica coffee plantation in Perhutani land is generally under several types of shade trees, so the potential for soil fertility under each type of shade tree will be different. Differences in soil fertility in coffee plantations under several types of shade trees will cause variations in coffee yield. This study aimed to analyze the yield of Arabica coffee plants on several types of shade trees. The research was conducted in Pangalengan, Bandung Regency, West Java Province, from January to December 2020 using the survey method. The plant sample population was Arabica coffee grown under four types of shade trees, namely: pine (Pinus merkusii), red cedar (Toona sureni), tembusu (Fagraea fragrans), and rainbow eucalyptus (Eucalyptus deglupta). Determination of the research location was carried out purposively according to the type of plant that had been determined as a shade plant. Meanwhile, the determination of coffee plants as an example of observation was carried out by simple random sampling. The results showed that the litter of leda, suren, and tembusu trees has the potential to contribute quite a lot of organic matter seen from the production of litter per month which is quite high with high nutrient content and can decompose faster. While the pine shade has less litter and a longer decomposition process. The highest yield of Arabica coffee cherry was in the shade of Leda (4.82 kg/tree), then tembusu (3.86 kg/tree), pine (2.27 kg/tree), and suren (2.18 kg/tree).

Abstract

Yamin M, Arbi M, Januarti I, Sari YP, Pramalia RP. 2022. The relationship between work time allocation and economic conditions of the swamp land farmers on Kemaro Island. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang  27 Oktober 2022. pp. 243-253.  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The level of soil fertility and agricultural infrastructure in swam is relatively lower than the irrigated paddy fields. So that the allocation of working time greatly affects the success of the farming business. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between the allocation of working time and the economic conditions of farmers on Kemaro Island, Palembang City. This study has used a survey method with simple random sampling. The number of samples that have been taken is 44 respondents or 55% of the population. The results of this study showed that the total allocation of working time for farmer families was 367.12 HOK / year. In detail, the allocation for agriculture is 56.06 HOK/year and 311.06 HOK/year allocation for non-agricultural. The socioeconomic condition of farming families is relatively low, as evidenced by the fact that 36% of farming families are below the poverty line and the rest are close to poor.  There is a significant relationship between the allocation of working time and the economic conditions of the farming family. It can be concluded that the condition of farmers on tidal lands with a low level of soil fertility, infrastructure and technology, the allocation of working time is an important factor for improving the socioeconomic conditions of farmer families. There is a significant relationship between the allocation of working time and the income of farmer’s family.

Abstract

Agustin NA, Syafutri MI, Yanuriati A, Malahayati N, Aryani D, Airlangga T. 2022. Decreasing oxalate levels of taro beneng (Xanthosoma undipes K. Koch) starch at various NaCl concentrations and soaking time. In: Herlinda S. et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 199-207. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Starch is a group of polysaccharides composed of amylose and amylopectin. Taro beneng (Xanthosoma undipes K. Koch) is one of local commodity tubers that has the potential to be used as starch. The problem with taro beneng is content of oxalate which is in water soluble (oxalic acid) and insoluble (calcium oxalate) forms. This study aimed to determine the effect of NaCl concentrations and soaking time on reducing oxalate levels and oxalate reduction values of taro beneng starch. This study used a Factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two treatment factors, namely NaCl concentrations (5%; 7.5% and 10%) and soaking time (30 minutes; 60 minutes and 90 minutes). The results showed that the difference in NaCl concentrations and soaking time had significant effect on the decrease in oxalate levels and the increase in oxalate reduction values of taro beneng starch. Taro beneng starch soaked for 90 minutes in 10% NaCl solution was the best treatment, because it had the lowest oxalate level (2700 ppm) and the highest reduction value (93.18%).

Qanita Z, Septiani D, Salsabilla S, Rizkiya K, Sari SY, Anggara F. 2022. Manajement of Lime plantation (Citrus aurantifolia swingle) in The Village of Palem Raya, Village of Tanjung Pering, Village of Seri Bandung, Ogan Ilir Regency, Sumatera Selatan Province. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 302-308.  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Ogan Ilir Regency is one of the lime (Citrus aurantifolia swingle) producing areas in South Sumatera, with farmers who grow lime as a household garden business for their daily life, now turning to the plantation business. However, the lack of attention from the owner in the sustainability of this plantation, so that plantation processing does not get optimal results. This survey activity aimed to determine the management of lime plantations in Palem Raya Village, Tanjung Pering Village, and Seribandung Village. The method used is direct interviews with the perpetrators and the lime garden cultivation. The results of the survey that we conducted in the 3 villages showed that lime plants experienced less than optimal productivity in terms of fruit and stem growth because they were not taken care of by their owners. Lack of care by garden owners such as not cleaning new shoots so that plants absorb nutrients optimally, applying fertilizers are not in accordance with plant needs, and pests that attack limes such as fruit flies, aphids and leafhoppers. The conclusion from this survey is the productivity of the citrus plantations in the 3 villages is less than optimal, where in the three locations the fruit produced is still experiencing a lot of damage because it is not taken care of. The advice we can give is for lime plantation farmers to do more maintenance by clearing the land, giving fertilizers at the right dose and time, and giving pesticides regularly. So that optimal product results are obtained.

Abstract

Ariyani GP, Hower H, Tamrin T, Pratama F. 2022. DSSC’s electrical performance from dye of bungur leaf (lagerstroemis speciosa) with varied dye concentration. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 105-112. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Dye Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC) can convert solar energy into electrical energy using organic matter (dye) as a sensitizer, but it necessary to innovate on dye so that resulting efficiency is optimal. The purpose of this research was to determine the electrical performance of Dye Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC) with varied dye concentrations of Bungur Leaf Extract (Lagerstroemis speciosa). The research methods included the preparation of the DSSC structure, the preparation and assembly of the DSSC, and DSSC analysis. The chlorophyll content in the leaves of Bungur was calculated based on the absorbance characteristics at wavelengths of 649 nm and 665 nm. The results of the measurement of chlorophyll levels in Bungur leaves were directly proportional to the addition of concentration. The higher the solvent concentration, the more chlorophyll would bind dye. At concentrations of 2% to 8%, the efficiency increased with the values respectively 0.0018%, 0.0047%, 0.0054%, and 0.0114%. Afterwards, at the highest concentration of 10%, the efficiency decreased by 0.0050%. The chlorophyll content in the leaf dye affected the performance of DSSC at a certain concentration limit which was due to the accumulation of dye molecules in the TiO2 pores.
