Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Tree legume supplementation is a solution to improve the quality of rations in traditional ruminant rearing systems, because they contain high nutrients. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the physical and phytochemical quality of bento grass based rations through the combination of Lamtoro and Indigofera leaves. This research was conducted for 3 months at the Animal Feed Nutrition Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments consisted of R0 (70%  Bento Rayap Grass + 30% Concentrate), R1 (40% Bento Rayap Grass + 30% Concentrate + 30%  Leucaena leaves), R2 (40% Bento Rayap Grass + 30% Concentrate + 30% Indigofera) , R3 ( 40%  Bento Rayap Grass + 30% Concentrate + 15% Leucaena leaves + 15% Indigofera). Parameters observed in the physical quality test were specific gravity (SG), pile density (PD), water absorption (WA) and moisture content (MC). Phytochemical analysis consists of tannins and saponins. The results of this study showed that the treatment had a significant effect (P<0.05) on SG, PD, WA, tannin and saponins while the MC had no significant effect (P>0.05). Furthermore, the lowest content of SG (0.47 g/ml) and WA (381.71%) was obtained at R2, the highest PD (0.23 g/cm3) at R1. The highest concentration of tannins (3.16%) and saponins (2.08%) was obtained at R1. The conclusion of this study showed that the combination of 40% Bento Rayap grass + 30% concentrate + 30% Leucaena leaves could improve the physical and phytochemical quality of the ration.

Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).This study aimed to determine the effect of the concentration of the addition of snakehead fish bone meal on the physical and chemical properties of corn tortillas. The study used a completely randomized non-factorial design (RALNF) with one treatment factor and was repeated three times. The treatment factor was the concentration of addition of snakehead fish bone meal (0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, 8% and 10%). The parameters observed in this study were physical parameters (hardness and color) and chemical parameters (moisture content, ash content, calcium content and protein content). The results showed that the concentration of the addition of snakehead fish bone meal had a significant effect on hardness, color (lightness, redness, yellowness), moisture content, ash content, calcium content and protein content. The higher the concentration of snakehead fish bone meal used, the higher the value of hardness, ash content, calcium content and protein content while the water content will decrease. The color value shows a fluctuating graph due to the Maillard reaction during the frying process. The average value of hardness, ash content, calcium content and protein content increased based on the concentration treatment of snakehead fish bone meal 268,07 gf to 434,20 gf, 2,73% to 7,95%, 0,02 % to 3,62% and 11,21% to 20,16%. While the average value of the water content of corn tortillas decreased based on the addition of concentration treatment with the addition of snakehead fish bone meal by 6,99% to 1,97%.

Abstract

Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The increase in rice production confronted: (1) The problem of continuing the conversion of fertile agricultural lands (paddy fields) to uses other than rice farming, and (2) The challenge of increasing sustainable rice production. One of the solutions is optimizing the use of swamp land. Writing this paper aimed to provide an overview of swamp land in Jambi Province in terms of: (1) utilization for rice farming, and; (2). Adoption of Integrated Crop Management (PTT) technology innovations. The use of swamp land in Jambi Province is not optimal, most of it is only planted once a year with local rice, aged within 5-7 months, simple cultivation techniques, minimal maintenance, and production of 2-3 t gkp/ha. One of the innovations to increase rice productivity and production in swamp land is Integrated Crop Management (PTT) for rice. In an effort to accelerate the mass diffusion of PTT rice technology innovations, the Ministry of Agriculture implemented the Integrated Crop Management Field School Program, abbreviated as SL-PTT, the program started in 2008. During this program it has been proven to be able to increase rice productivity. After this program ends, the opportunity to be adopted, fully implemented by farmers and diffused to other places tends to depend on the perceptions of farmers that are formed.

This survey aimed to determine the effectiveness of giving stimulants to rubber plants (Hevea brasiliensis). The type of stimulant used is 30 ml of Ethrel and 60 ml of water then mix into a bowl, then stir until evenly distributed. Then apply the stimulant liquid to the tapping stream, smearing is done in the same direction, from top to bottom. The results of this survey indicate that giving stimulants can increase latex productivity in rubber plants. Rubber trees that have been given stimulants can produce more latex than rubber trees that are not given stimulants. A rubber tree given a stimulant will produce a full bowl of latex in less than a day. Meanwhile, rubber trees that are not given stimulants need 2-3 days to get one cup of latex. So the conclusion of this survey proves that the use of stimulants on rubber plants is much more effective than rubber that is not given stimulants. The use of stimulants must pay attention to the right dose, because excessive use of stimulants or not in accordance with the dose will cause diseases in rubber plants such as dry tapping grooves.

Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).In citrus plants, the koksi beetle acts as a natural enemy for pests, they will eat insects such as aphids, caterpillars, and other plant-destroying insects. This study aimed to inventory the species of koksi beetle in Indralaya Mulia Village, Pemulutan Village, North Indralaya Village, Ogan Ilir Regency. The method carried out in this observation uses a random survey method which is carried out by direct observation. The results showed that the koksi beetle in the first, second and third fields were different in each observation, the koksi beetle found on citrus plants, namely Coleomagilla macullata, Coccidulinae, Novius cardinalis, was found on the leaves and also on the young twigs, namely below the surface. leaves, the data used using primary data and secondary data. Secondary data were obtained from literature reference sources. While the primary data obtained from observations in the field. The data obtained will be presented in the form of a table. So the population of the koksi beetle in the three villages has different species, this is influenced by the presence of abiotic and biotic factors that are around the land. To find out more detailed data from the koksi beetle on citrus trees, an inventory of the koksi beetle can be used.

Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Chili and eggplant were two famous vegetable crops in Pringsewu Lampung and their cultivation practice were intensively using synthetic mulch, inorganic fertilizer, and synthetic pesticides, that may affect to arthropods communities. The purpose of this research was to study diversity and abundance of arthropod community inhabited canopy crop of chili and eggplant in Pringsewu, Lampung.  Sampling of arthropods by yellow sticky trap and ground cloth methods on 4, 6, and 10 weeks after planting of chili and eggplant crops were conducted in district of Adiluwih, Pringsewu, province of Lampung on May until August 2022.  Identification of arthropods into taxon of family was done in Plant Pest Laboratory, University of Lampung. The result show that the abundance of arthropod that indicated by total individual that were caught were 905 on Chili and 1399 on eggplant respectively.  Taxonomic diversity of arthropod on chili were 8 order, 34 families with Shannon index of 2.38 and Simpsons Index of 0.84, while on eggplant were 8 order and 32 families with Shannon Index of 2.58 and Simpsons Index of 0.89. The functional groups of arthropods on Chili consisted of 14 families of herbivore and 20 families of non-herbivore, while on eggplant there were 14 families of herbivore and 18 families of non-herbivore arthropods. Base on Sorenson Index, the similarities of arthropods communities on chili and eggplant was 0.76. Diversity and abundance of arthropods both on chili and eggplant was higher on 6 than 4 and 10 weeks after planting crop old. Total individual of herbivore arthropods was higher than non-herbivore.

This area plays an important role in maintaining fish production. This study aimed  to analyze the relationship between the existence of fishery-protected areas and the original local government revenue of Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. The method used is a desk study. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively. The results of the study show that revenue from L3S in sub-districts that have fishery-protected areas is higher than in those that do not. Jejawi District has the most fishery-protected areas, contributing the most to OKI Regency's original local government revenue. To increase L3S revenue, it is recommended to add the number of fishery-protected areas.

The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 7 treatmens and 4 replication, each replication consisted of two eggs. The treatmens consisted of T0 (without guava leaf extract and chitosan liquid), T1 (immersion with guava leaf extract 0,5%), T2  (immersion with guava leaf extract 1 %), T3 (immersion with guava leaf extract 1,5%), T4 (immersion with 0,5% chitosan liquid ), T5 (immersion with 1% chitosan liquid ), T4 (immersion with 1,5% chitosan liquid ).  The observed variables were egg weight loss, albumen pH, yolk pH and haugh unit. The results showed that the treatment with guava leaf extract and chitosan liquid had a significant effect (P < 0,05) on egg weight loss, albumen pH, haught unit and had no effect on yolk pH (P > 0,05).  The conclusion of this study was that the immersion treatment with chitosan liquid showed lower egg weight loss and albumen pH than other treatments, but a dose of 1,5% chitosan liquid showed a Haugh unit value of 83,89 which was the highest significant (P < 0,05) of all treatmens.

Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The location of the source of cocoa seeds, which is far from the nursery, needs a proper seed storage process to prevent seed damage due to the delay in sowing. During storage, cocoa seeds undergo various processes that affect the content of their food reserves and have an impact on seed germination and vigor. The decrease in seed viability due to storage is unavoidable, but maintaining its vigor can be achieved by using appropriate planting media with the application of organic fertilizers and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF). This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of organic fertilizers and AMF application on planting media in improving the vigor of deteriorated cocoa seeds due to storage. The experiment was conducted at the Indonesian Industrial and Beverage Crops Research Institute, Sukabumi, West Java, from January to August 2020. The research design used was a split-split plot with three replications. The main plot is the application of organic fertilizers, consisting of: without organic fertilizers and with organic fertilizers. Sub-plots were seed storage, consisting of: without storage and two weeks of storage, while sub-plots were AMF applications, consisting of: without AMF, AMF A, and AMF B. The parameter observed was the vigor of cocoa seedlings. The experiment results showed that the application of organic fertilizers was able to increase the number of leaves, shoot dry weight, and root loss ratio in deteriorated seedlings that were stored for two weeks. AMF application was able to increase the leaf width in seeds that were not stored, but AMF did not improve the vigor of seeds that underwent storage.Keywords: media tanam, penyimpanan benih, pertumbuhan benih.

Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Gambir coffee has a high content of chlorogenic acid so it is very good for health, but it is necessary to improve the taste because of its bitter taste so palm sugar is chosen because it has a lower glycemic index of 35 and vegetable creamer which contains high saturated fatty acids so it is more stable to oxygen and oxygen. long term rancidity. This research aimed to determine the effect of addition palm sugar and vegetable creamer to the chemical and sensory characteristics of gambir coffee. This research used a Factorial Completely Randomized Design (RALF) with 3 factors and was repeated 3 times. Treatment factors include the addition of palm sugar and vegetable creamer with concentrations (b/b) of 20g, namely 20% (4g), 40% (8g) and 60% (12g). Parameters observed included chemical characteristics (moisture content, ash content, total phenol, antioxidant activity, total sugar and pH) and sensory characteristics using a preference test, included color, aroma and taste. The results showed that the addition of palm sugar and vegetable creamer was significantly affected the ash content, total phenol, antioxidant activity, total sugar, pH, and taste on sensory parameters. Gambir coffee with the addition of palm sugar 40% (8g) and vegetable creamer 60% (12g)  was the best treatment with preference test (2.92 for color; 3 for aroma and 2.92 for taste). and chemical characteristics was in accordance with SNI standard for ground coffee, namely water content 5.82%; ash content 4.09%; total phenol 17.32 mgGAE/g; IC50 140.82 ppm; total sugar 11.70% and pH 8.17.
