Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Covid-19 also affects the agricultural sector, including the availability of staple food for rice farmer households in Muara Belida District, Muara Enim Regency, which is a suboptimal land. This study aimed to analyze the factors of land area, production and total household income which are suspected to affect the availability of staple food rice for rice farmers in Muara Belida District, Muara Enim Regency during the covid-19 pandemic. The method used is a survey method, data collection is carried out directly through interviews using questionnaires. Data processing using multiple linear regression analysis techniques. The results of the analysis show that in Muara Belida District based on the value of the Coefficient of Determination (R2), it is known that land area, production and household income of rice farmers simultaneously have an effect of 22.9% on Food Availability of Rice Farmers' Household Rice while the rest is influenced by other factors outside the variable. researched. Based on the results of the Communal Test (Test F) it is known that jointly land area, production and total household income have a joint effect on the availability of rice food for rice farmer households in Muara Belida District. While the results of the partial test (T test) of land area and production partially have no effect on the availability of staple food rice for farmer households, while the total income of farm households has a partial effect on the availability of staple food for household farmers. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there are other factors other than the variables of land area, production and total income of farm households that have a greater influence on the availability of rice for rice farmers of Lebak swamp rice farmers in Muara Belida sub-district during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Liquid organic fertilizer (Poc) from tofu liquid waste with banana hump decomposer in pokcay plant growth. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang  27 Oktober 2022. pp. 129-135.  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Tofu liquid waste can be used as a new alternative that can be used as liquid organic fertilizer because in the tofu liquid waste it has various nutrients needed for the plant growth process. Based on the research, it shows that the nutrient content in tofu liquid waste before and after liquid fertilizer is made does not meet the standard of liquid fertilizer. To improve the quality of tofu liquid waste as liquid fertilizer, one of them is the addition of local microorganisms (MOL) from banana hump. The specific purpose of the study was to determine the effect of liquid organic fertilizer from tofu liquid waste with the addition of a banana hump decomposer on pokcay plants. Liquid organic fertilizer is one of the efforts to improve the physical and chemical properties of the soil, one of which is Ultisol, so it is expected to increase the growth of pokcay plants to be applied. Ultisols include soils that have very low nutrients and high soil acidity. Poor macronutrient content. Therefore, researchers made efforts so that ultisols could increase the availability of soil nutrients. Liquid organic fertilizer has many advantages, namely the ease of application to soil and plants, which only needs to be watered. The results showed that there was an effect of the dose of liquid organic fertilizer sprinkled on the soil planted with pokcay on the growth, namely plant height, number of leaves, leaf green level, wet weight and dry weight.

In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 403-413. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Refugia plants have several benefits, including as a system mechanism that includes improving the availability of alternative foods such as pollen, nectar, and honeydew, shelters used by predatory insects to survive through changing seasons or shelter from environmental extremity factors or pesticides, and provide habitat for alternative hosts or prey. This observation activity aimed to identify the types of predatory insects on hybrid cultivated tembelekan (Lantana camara) plants and those that grow wild that come or land on the refugia at Sriwijaya University. Observations were made by direct observation method, then identified using the google lens application and reviewed with a literature study of the predatory insects found. Then the data that has been obtained is calculated using the species diversity index using the Shannon-Weiner index formula and the species evenness index using the Pielou's index. The results showed that there were 4 orders of predatory insects found in wild refugia, namely Araneae, Diptera, Odonata, and Hymenoptera. Meanwhile, in the cultivated hybrid refugia, there were 3 orders of predatory insects, namely Hymnoptera, Diptera, and Araneae with the highest abundance of individual insects in the order Hymenoptera. The diversity index value of predatory insects on cultivated refugia tembelekan was 1.131 while the diversity index value of wild-growing Lantana camara was 1.167. The evenness index value of predatory insect species in hybrid tembelekan was 0.582, while the value of wild-growing Lantana camara was 0.600. Thus, the diversity value of predatory insects in both refugia showed a value of 1 < H'< 3 which is moderate, where the distribution of the number of individuals of each species or general was moderate and the stability of the community was moderate. Efforts to utilize wild and cultivated hybrid refugia can maximize the conservation function of predatory insects.

Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Sweet corn is one of the most popular food commodities in the community. However, production is still relatively low. The study aimed to determine the concentration and uptake of N and P nutrients, the development of mycorrhizae, and the growth of several varieties of sweet corn added with bioameliorants. The experimental design used was a randomized block design consisting of four treatments of sweet corn varieties, namely P1: Bonanza variety, P2: Ganebo variety, P3: Golden Boy variety, and F4: Exotic Pertiwi variety. The variables observed in this study were: (1) soil nutrient concentration variables and plant nutrient uptake (N and P) at 42 days after planting (dap), (2) growth variables included: plant height and number of leaves at 14, 28, and 42, and weight of wet and dry root and shoot at 42 dap, and (3) mycorrhizal population variables included: number of spores and percentage of root infection at 42 dap. Observational data were analyzed using analysis of variance followed by the Tukey’s HSD (Honestly Least Significant Difference) test at a significant level of 5%. The results showed that the Golden Boy variety with 25 t ha-1 bioameliorant made from local raw materials gave the highest plant height, number of leaves, wet and dry biomass weight of roots and shoots. While the concentration of total N nutrients, available soil P, plant N and P nutrient uptake, as well as the number of spores, and the highest percentage of mycorrhizal colonization were obtained in the Bonanza F1.

In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 234-242.  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The study was conducted to determine the effect of treatment of dolomite lime and urea fertilizer on CO2 gas emissions in rice plants on peat soil. The research was carried out at the ATC Greenhouse, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya, from March to June 2020.The research design was a Completely Randomized Factorial Design (RALF) with two factors, namely dolomite lime and urea fertilizer.Observations of gas emissions were carried out in various vegetative, generative and production phases. Gas capture is carried out with a closed chamber and then inserted into a vacuum tube. Carbon dioxide gas analysis was carried out in the laboratory of the Agricultural Environmental Research Institute, Ministry of Agriculture, Pati, Central Java. The results showed that the increase in urea fertilizer application decreased CO2 gas emissions at 30 DAP, 84 DAP and 100 DAP, but on the contrary there was an increase at 70 DAP. The lowest CO2 emissions in the vegetative, primordia, generative and production phases were U2D0, U2D2, U0D2 and U1D2, respectively.

In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 337-345.  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The coconut product that has high added value as a raw material for cosmetics and medicine was Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO). The objective of this research was to determine effect of the concentration induced VCO and the speed of stirring on the VCO and protein characteristics of coconut milk cream. The experiment used a Factorial Completely Randomized Design with two factors. The first factor was VCO concentration consisting of 3 levels (5%, 7%, and 10%) and the second factor was stirring speed consisting of 3 levels (500, 700, and 900 rpm). The parameters were yield, moisture, free fatty acids, degree of clarity and peroxide number for VCO and yield, moisture, ash and protein content for protein. The results for VCO showed that the concentration of induced VCO had a significant effect on the yield, stirring speed had a significant effect on the value of free fatty acids, the interaction of the two treatment factors had a significant effect on the value of the degree of clarity. The best treatment for VCO was induced VCO concentration of 5% and stirring speed of 500 rpm. For protein: the interaction of the induced VCO and stirring speed  had significant effect on water and protein content. The best treatment for protein was obtained in the 10% induced VCO concentration and stirring speed of 900 rpm.

Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).In an effort to develop farming systems and rice plant institutions in an area, it is necessary to approach the relationship between farmer groups and other supporting institutions. With the establishment of good institutional cooperation, problems faced by farmers can be submitted and it is hoped that technology diffusion will occur through related institutions or institutions in the region. By empowering institutions that support the adoption of technology provided to farmer groups FSA (Farming System Analysis) in the form of cooperation, it will help solve the problems faced by farmers. Based on this thought, it is necessary to study the analysis of institutional engineering supporting rice farming technology. This activity was carried out in the village of Rawa Medang, Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency, with the aimed of finding effective treatments/interventions and increasing empowerment, as well as institutional cooperation to ensure the adoption of sustainable rice farming system technology. The methodology used in this activity is by applying the Participatory Research Appraisal (PRA) method, to explore the problems faced by rice farmers. Alternative interventions are the formation of several farmer groups or can be called Gapoktan which is named Joint Venture, a brief discussion about the rice farming system, seeing the urgent needs of farmer groups, and connecting them with supporting institutions. Based on the results of the PRA, the prioritized problems are (1) Acid sulphate soil, (2) Water management, (3), rat/planthopper pests, (4) Labor, (5) Capital, (6) Technical guidance for rice and rice plants. (7) Obtain subsidized fertilizer. The aimed is to find effective treatments/interventions and increase empowerment, as well as institutional cooperation to ensure the adoption of sustainable rice farming system technology.

(Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 293-301. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Plastic litter degrade very slowly in the natural environment. The different characteristics of plastic waste are one of the determining factors in the decomposition process. This study aimed to investigate the type, abundance and characteristics plastic waste in Segara Anakan Lagoon. Plastic waste was taken from Segara Anakan Lagoon on August, 2020 using survey method. Sample was collected from 1x1 meter transect. Analysis of the data used is descriptive analysis. The results showed that we found 7 types of plastics waste, i.e. PET, HDPE, PVC, LDPE, PP, PS, and OTHER. The highest plastic waste abundance was found in station 2 (82,67 items/m2), and the lowest was in station 9 (1,67 items/m2). PP is the dominant type of plastic with a total of 839 items (71.5%) followed by LDPE with a total of 189 items (16.1%), while PVC and PS were found in lowest number, with each of them 6 items (0.5%). The characteristics of plastic waste in Segara Anakan based on the type of plastic waste at station 2 have different types with other stations and the differences are clearly illustrated.

In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang  27 Oktober 2022. pp. 469-479.  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The issue of climate change has become a real environmental phenomenon and is recognized as one of the biggest threats to human life. Currently, the earth's surface temperature (global) continues to increase every year. In this regard, the Climate Village Program (PROKLIM) is one of the community-based national program efforts to prevent rising greenhouse gas emissions and prevent the impact of climate change with proactive adaptation and mitigation actions that contribute to national development efforts. The purpose of this activity is to build an environmentally friendly climate village, especially in the RW.01 area, Jatinegara Kaum village. This area in RW.01 is very congested, if it is raining, the access road to residents' houses is full of puddles and lacks of open areas. This community service activity includes socialization, practice, and assistance in making compost and eco enzyme as well as planting 200 trees in pots made from used tires as an application of the mitigation concept. From the results of the activities obtained, it shows that the community is willing to be actively involved in realizing the proklim in the RW.01 area which is indicated by the community being able to process their household waste by separating waste according to its type and processing the waste into compost. In addition, the people of the village of Jatinegara, the RW.01 have also started greening the environment by planting various kinds of plants.

Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Vermicompost is an organic fertilizer that can improve soil physical properties including structure, porosity, soil permeability and improve soil chemical properties because it contains macro and micro nutrients. This study aimed to examine the role of vermicompost in increasing the growth and production of upland rice plants of Dayang Rindu variety. This research was conducted in Musi Rawas Regency at an altitude of 103 meter above sea level, from February to June 2021. The study used an experimental method with a non-factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 5 treatments and 5 replications, namely (V0) without vermicompost/control, (V1) 22.5 grams/polybag, (V2) 45 grams/polybag, (V3) 67.5 grams/polybag, (V4) 90 grams/polybag. The observed variables included plant height, total tillers, number of panicles per clump, production per clump, weight of 1000 grains, root length and root weight. The data was analyzed used analyses of variance and  Tukey’s honestly significant different  test. The results showed that the application of vermicompost can increase the growth and production of upland rice plants of the Dayang Rindu variety. The vermicompost treatment of 90 grams/polybag resulted in the best growth and production of upland rice plants.
