Abstract

Background: Anxiety is a condition that makes a person uncomfortable, related to feelings that are uncertain and helpless. Anxiety in nursing students is generally related to lectures, such as fear of failing the exam, lack of free time, and long hours of study. These anxieties can cause students to not be able to act properly and even cause a failure in the exam. Anxiety facing an exam is a problem that needs to be overcome. Student anxiety can be handled with relaxation techniques. Autogenic relaxation comes from oneself in the form of short words or sentences or thoughts that usually make the mind calm. This study aims to determine the effect of autogenic relaxation on the anxiety of nursing students when facing an exam. Methodology: This quantitative study used a quasi-experimental design, pretest-posttest design. The sampling technique with purposive sampling consisted of 23 respondents. Results: Category anxiety before being given intervention, 4 respondents (17%) with moderate anxiety, and 19 respondents (83%) with severe anxiety but after the intervention, there was a decrease in anxiety, namely 3 respondents with mild anxiety, 17 respondents with moderate anxiety and 3 respondents with severe anxiety. The results showed that the average level of anxiety before the intervention was 31.61 while the average level of anxiety after the intervention was 24.96. The results of the statistical test (Paired Sample T-Test) shows p-Value 0,000 (ie 0,000 < 0,005). Conclusion: There is an influence of autogenic relaxation on anxiety levels. Suggestion: Advise nursing students to practice relaxation techniques to reduce anxiety when taking an exam

Abstract

Pesticides of organophosphate type are mostly used on farming because they are easier to resolve in nature, but there was a possibility of high frequency that they were an agent that caused neurological diseases amongst farmers especially in developing countries. The factors influencing the occurrence of pesticide poisonings are internal and external factors, including age, knowledge level, work period as a sprayer, and spraying frequency. The purpose of this research is to analyze the risk factors that cause organophosphate pesticide poisonings on Chinese cabbage farmers in Semangat Village Karo Regency. The methods that are used in this research are with the observational method and cross-sectional approach, with the population of all Chinese cabbage farmers in Semangat Village Karo Regency. The taking of samples uses simple random sampling technique as much as 50 samples, the instruments that are used in this research is using Thermo Indiko for cholinesterase levels inspection and lists of questions for the farmers. The results show that there is no significant correlation between age and organophosphate pesticide poisoning on Chinese cabbage farmers (p > 0,05). Meanwhile, for other factors such as the relation between knowledge, the relation between work period as a sprayer, and the relation between spraying frequency with the level of pesticide poisoning show that there is a significant correlation (p < 0,05). Research results also show that the most dominant variable related to organophosphate pesticide poisoning on Chinese cabbage farmers is spraying frequency (p-value = 0,000 dan odds ratio = 7,707), which means that spraying frequency > 2 times a week has the opportunity of 7,707 bigger risks of organophosphate pesticide poisoning abnormality on Chinese cabbage farmers than with spraying frequency of ≤ 2 times a week

Abstract

A large number of people who do not know that the mind is not calm or relaxed is closely related to the rise in blood pressure or hypertension. Hypertension until now is still one of the major health problems in public health in developed countries and in developing countries. Hypertension can be treated with pharmacological and nonpharmacological treatments. One of nonpharmacologic treatment is autogenic relaxation to hypertension blood pressure. The method used by the writer is Quasi Eksperimen Design with pre and post, which is a design that gives treatment to the group, then observed before and after implementation. The population of all elderly with hypertension, the sample consists of 10 respondents. Independent variable is autogenic relaxation and the dependent variable is hypertension in parent or elderly. The data collected through observation was analyzed by paired t-test statistic with significance level α = 0,05. The result of the analysis showed that there was a change of mean pressure between before and after autogenic relaxation therapy with significant systole value at p-Value = 0,04 (α <0,05) and diastol significant value at p-Value = 0,01 ( α <0.05) so that there is an autogenic relaxation effect on the decrease in blood pressure in the elderly patients with hypertension. In conclusion, seeing the results of this study then this autogenic relaxation therapy can be used as an alternative therapy in treating blood pressure problems in elderly or parents in addition to treatment therapy.

Abstract

Infertility is a situation where a woman is not experiencing a pregnancy after marrying within 1 years or more though it has sexual intercourse as much as 2-3 times a week. This research aims to analyze the risk factors for the occurrence of infertility on couples of fertile age research is using design case control. The location of the research conducted in the Stella Maris Hospital 2018. The population in this research is the whole fertile couples who visit during the period April-August 2018, that as many as 150 people. The amount of sample (Case and control) taken comparable 1:1, 40 cases: 40 controls, so that the overall number of samples is 80 samples. Data collection research done using primary data obtained by dividing the questionnaire to respondents, secondary data obtained from records or reports from the Stella Maris Hospital. Data processing is started from the editing, coding, entry, the tabulating. Data analysis using the chisquare test with bivariate and multivariate with logistic regression test. The research results show that there is a relationship age (p = 0.000; OR = 6.6), menstruation cycle (p = 0.005; or = 4.7), companion disease (p = 0,011; OR = 4.6), stress (p = 0.012; OR = 5.9), impaired sperm function (p = 0.002; OR = 8.2). The most dominant variable effect on the incidence of infertility is a malfunctioning of the sperm (p = 0.006; OR = 6.9 95% 1,780-31,313). There for thus to fertile couples Stella Maris Hospital suggestion, to further improve the attention and understanding early on about the risk factors associated with the incidence of infertility interfetilitas genesis so that it can be more minimized
