Abstract

Persatuan dan kesatuan bangsa sangat penting dalam sebuah negara bangsa (nation state). Indonesia dihadapkan pada persoalan heterogenitas suku, bahasa, ras, agama, dan kedaerahan yang menjadi tantangan dalam membangunan budaya politik nasional. Oleh karena itu tujuan artikle ini adalah untuk mengkaji ikatan primordial dalam proses national and character building. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi literatur. Sementara teknis analisanya menggunakan analisis isi. Kebutuhan data diambil dari berbagai sumber, baik buku, jurnal, maupun dokumen cetak dan digital. Temuan penelitian menunjukan bahwa (1) Primordialisme menjadi unsur yang paling penting dalam kenakaragaman bangsa dan berperan dalam menumbuhkan patriotisme, namun menjadi tantangan ketika membangun budaya nasional, (2) negara melakukan berbagai upaya dalam mempersatukan keragaman memalui berbagai kebijakan seperti monitisasi ideologi yang cenderung mengarah ke totaliter. Hal tersebut berimplikasi pada marginalisasi dan eliminasi yang menghambat kebebasan yang penting dalam membangun kreativitas dan inovasi dalam negara demokrasi.           Unity and diversity is the most urgent thing in a nation-state (nation-state). Indonesia is faced with the problem of ethnic, linguistic, racial, religious, and regional heterogeneity which is a challenge in building a national political culture. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to examine primordial bonds in the process of national and character building. This study used a qualitative approach with a systematic literature method. While the technical analysis used content analysis. Data needs were taken from various sources, books, journals, and documents, both printed and digital. The research findings show that: (1) Primordialism is the most important element in the diversity of the nation and play a role in fostering patriotism, but it becomes a challenge when building a national culture. (2) The state makes various efforts to unite diversity through various policies such as ideology uniformity which tends to lead to totalitarian. This has implications for marginalization and elimination that hinder freedom which is important in building creativity and innovation in a democratic country.

Abstract

Saat ini, sensivitas budaya di bidang psikoterapi menjadi isu yang penting karena tumbuhnya kesadaran bahwa berbagai praktik yang dilakukan selama ini bersifat Eurosentris. Para ahli mengabaikan fakta keberagaman latar belakang budaya pasien. Padahal, banyak terapis yang menangani pasien dari berbagai latar belakang budaya menyadari adanya keunikan budaya pada setiap pasiennya. Sayangnya, belum banyak riset yang berusaha memahami dan menggali kekayaan budaya yang ada dalam cerita rakyat dan dimanfaatkan dalam bidang terapi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeksripsikan arketipe peran Ibu dalam cerita rakyat nusantara dan signifikansinya sebagai mental budaya masyarakat dapat berkontribusi terhadap terapi lintas budaya. Penelitian menggunakan 288 cerita rakyat Nusantara. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis isi dan studi dokumen. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan dalam imajinasi kolektif masyarakat Nusantara, Ibu arketipe peran Ibu termanifestasi dalam bentuk peran Ibu yang baik, Ibu yang buruk, dan peran Ibu yang bertransformasi. Ibu tidak hanya menjadi sosok protagonis yang memberikan perlindungan, kehidupan, dan kesejahteraan, tetapi juga menjadi antagonis yang mampu menjadi sosok menakutkan bagi anaknya. Dalam oposisi biner ini, sosok Ibu juga mampu bertranformasi dengan mengubah peranannya sesuai dengan konteks situasi yang menyertainya, yaitu Ibu protagonis menjadi sosok antagonis yang diakibatkan oleh ketidakpatuhan anaknya atau hadirnya pihak ketiga. Ketiga arketipe peran Ibu tersebut merupakan gambaran dari imajinasi kolektif masyarakat Nusantara dalam menggambarkan peran Ibu dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Gambaran ini dapat dimanfaatkan dalam bidang terapi, khususnya dalam proses terapi yang melibatkan pasien anak-anak atau Ibu. Arketipe peran Ibu dapat menjadi gambaran mengenai nilai-nilai yang melekat pada sosok Ibu dan menjadi mental budaya masyarakat Nusantara.   Currently, cultural sensitivity in the field of psychotherapy has become an important issue due to the growing awareness that various practices carried out so far are Eurocentric. Experts ignore the fact that the patient's cultural background is diverse. In fact, many therapists who treat patients from various cultural backgrounds are aware of the cultural uniqueness of each patient. Unfortunately, not much research has tried to understand and explore the cultural richness that exists in folklore and is used in the field of therapy. This study aims to describe the archetype of the mother in the folklore of the archipelago and its significance as a community mental culture that can contrIbute to cross-cultural therapy. The study used 240 Indonesian folk tales. The analytical method used is content analysis and document study. The results of the study show that in the collective imagination of the people of the archipelago, the archetypal mother role is manifested in the form of a good mother role, a bad mother, and a transformed mother role. Mother is not only a protagonist who provides protection, life, and welfare, but also becomes an antagonist who can become a frightening figure for her child. In this binary opposition, the mother figure is also able to transform by changing her role according to the context of the accompanying situation, namely the protagonist's mother becomes an antagonist figure caused by the disobedience of her child or the presence of a third party. The three archetypes of the mother's role are an illustration of the collective imagination of the Indonesian people in describing the role of mothers in everyday life. This picture can be used in the field of therapy, especially in the therapeutic process involving children or mothers. The archetype of the mother's role can be an illustration of the values ​​attached to the mother figure and become the cultural mentality of the Indonesian people.

Abstract

Syair lagu merupakan rangkaian dan tatanan kata indah yang diberi notasi dan dilagukan. Syair lagu memuat simbol-simbol pesan yang hendak disampaikan pencipta kepada pendengarnya. Simbol dalam syair lagu tidak mudah dimengerti dan perlu penafsiran. Pencipta lagu menggunakan simbol verbal pada syair lagu guna mewakili segala hal terkait dengan maksud, harapan, perasaan serta kondisi yang terjadi di lingkungan fisik  serta menerjemahkan kehidupan di dunia yang diketahuinya. Untuk memahami sistem tanda yang menggambarkan budaya kemaritiman dalam syair lagu digunakan pendekatan semiotik.  Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif  kualitatif, mengkaji bahasa berupa tanda atau simbol dalam syair lagu kemaritiman. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan mendokumentasikan  lagu di Museum Musik Indonesia (MMI) di Malang serta eksplorasi di internet. Data berupa aspek kebahasaan yang mengandung sistem tanda budaya kemaritiman dari 14 lagu. Tujuan penelitian mendeskripsikan bentuk penanda dan petanda budaya kemaritiman pada syair lagu dan aspek budaya kemaritiman masyarakat Indonesia. Hasil penelitian ditemukan penanda dan petanda yang menunjukkan budaya kemaritiman pada syair lagu kemaritiman serta  empat aspek sistem budaya masyarakat maritim meliputi, sistem mata pencaharian hidup, sistem peralatan hidup dan teknologi, sistem pengetahuan, dan sistem keorganisasian sosial. Lagu-lagu kemaritiman Indonesia merepresentasikan budaya kemaritiman masyarakat pesisir melalui simbol tanda yang ada. Untuk itu, lagu merupakan rekaman budaya masyarakat di masanya.   Song verse is a series and arrangement of beautiful words that are noted and performed. The song verse contains symbols of the message that the creator wants to convey to his listener. The symbols in the verse of the song are not easy to understand and need interpretation. The songwriter uses verbal symbols in the song's verse to represent everything related to the intentions, expectations, feelings and conditions that occur in the physical environment and translate life in the world he knows. To understand the sign system that describes maritime culture in song verse, a semiotic approach is used.  This research is qualitative descriptive, studying the language in the form of signs or symbols in maritime song verse. Data collection techniques by documenting songs at the Indonesian Music Museum (MMI) in Malang as well as exploration on the internet. Data in the form of language aspects that contain a maritime cultural sign system of 14 songs. The purpose of the study describes the form of markers and signs of maritime culture in song verses and aspects of maritime culture of Indonesian society. The results of the study found markers and signs that show maritime culture in maritime song verses as well as four aspects of the maritime community cultural system including, livelihood system, living equipment system and technology, knowledge system, and social organization system. Indonesian maritime songs represent the maritime culture of coastal communities through the symbol of existing signs. For this reason, the song is a recording of the culture of the people of his time.

Abstract

Mistisisme dalam tataran masyarakat Jawa menjadi salah satu hal yang tidak dapat dipisahkan dalam setiap perilaku yang terjadi di tengah masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan praktik mistisisme Jawa dalam novel Mantra Pejinak Ular karya Kuntowijoyo. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, pendekatan yang digunakan adalah sosiologi sastra. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah novel Mantra Pejinak Ular karya Kuntowijoyo yang diterbitkan oleh Penerbit Buku Kompas. Data dalam penelitian ini mencakup satuan cerita yang terwujud dalam dialog, monolog, paragraf, sekuen cerita, bagian kalimat, maupun narasi tokoh yang menggambarkan praktik mistisisme Jawa dalam novel Mantra Pejinak Ular karya Kuntowijoyo. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan langkah (a) membaca sumber data; (b) unitizing (mengambil data yang tepat dengan cara menandai teks; serta (c) mencatat dan menginventarisasi teks yang relevan. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan flow model of analysis yang dikemukakan oleh Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam novel Mantra Pejinak Ular karya Kuntowijoyo menunjukkan praktik mistisisme Jawa pada tingkatan sarengat/syariat dan tingkatan hakekat. Praktik mistisisme Jawa pada tingkatan sarengat/syariat dibuktikan dengan (1) percaya pada benda mitologi dan (2) percaya pada mitos-mitos. Pada tingkatan hakekat dibuktikan dengan ibadah yang dilakukan untuk menemui Tuhan dalam bentuk salat istikharah. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa praktik mistisisme Jawa yang dominan dilakukan oleh masyarakat Jawa dalam novel Mantra Pejinak Ular karya Kuntowijoyo adalah pada tingkatan sarengat/syariat dan hakekat.                                     Mysticism at the level of Javanese society is one thing that cannot be separated in every behavior that occurs in society. This study aims to describe the practice of Javanese mysticism in the novel Mantra Pejinak Ular by Kuntowijoyo. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method, the approach used is the sociology of literature. The data source in this study is the novel Mantra Pejinak Snake by Kuntowijoyo published by Kompas Book Publishers. The data in this study include story units that are manifested in dialogues, monologues, paragraphs, story sequences, sentence sections, and character narratives that describe the practice of Javanese mysticism in the novel Mantra Pejinak Ular by Kuntowijoyo. Data collection is done by steps (a) reading the data source; (b) unitizing (taking the right data by marking the text; and (c) recording and inventorying relevant texts. Data analysis was carried out using the flow model of analysis proposed by Miles and Huberman. The results showed that in the novel Mantra Pejinak Ular Kuntowijoyo's work shows the practice of Javanese mysticism at the sarengat/syariat level and the essence level. The practice of Javanese mysticism at the sarengat/syariat level is proven by (1) believing in mythological objects and (2) believing in myths. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that the dominant practice of Javanese mysticism carried out by the Javanese people in the novel Mantra Pejinak Ular by Kuntowijoyo is at the level of sarengat/syariat and essence.

Abstract

Main problem is whether gender justice and equality in art performance, mainly in traditional art performance, have become central issues in efforts to socialize and as a gender mainstream in Education, Law, Economy, Politic, and Social.   In general and traditional art performance, woman always involved, especially the main actresses in various art performances, they are adored both as ‘diva or idol’ who  are  able  to  attract  people  and  also  are  humiliated  because,  in  some occasions,  she  shows  her  over-sensuality  so  that  it  humiliates  her  dignity  as  a woman.  The  both  positions  generate  a  number  of  questions  about  position  of gender mainstream and its advocating.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to obtain a correlation between social support perception and successful aging among elderly Javanese people. This research was conducted by using quantitative correlational design. The method was intended to determine the contribution social support on successful aging. Subject of this research was the elderly whose the member of some elderly organization in Solo and Malang. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling based on the prescribed criteria of research subjects. Then, the collected data were then analyzed by using Pearson Correlation Method. The findings of this research showed that there was a significance positive correlation between social support perception and successful aging among Javanese people.

Abstract

Various problems related to the growth of coastel area are rapidly relative, definitely the handling steps immediately should be concepted. In addition of what have been predicted, in this time one demage of the coastel area is demaged of mangrove, so that why the conservation in coastel area extremely needed because there are several benefits for society. Mangrove Center of Tuban (MCT) is one of institute that has been developing the conservation of coastel area. The purpose in this research is understanding the values of Islam in social construction of coastel area conservation in Tuban Mangroves Center, utilised the qualitative research with phenomenological approach, use the analysis techniques of research phenomenological Creswell data, did in Jenu village- Jenu subdistricts regency of Tuban. The existency of conservation activities surely not released to the process of social construction. The concept of social construction is the meaning of each individul process for each areas and each outside aspect consist of Externalitation process,Objectivation, and internalitation. Start from the activities, planting of mangrove that planted everyday, be a habits, have an institute other socialitation to make some conservations. Conservation activities as a realization of values in religion (Islam), pay attention to some areas not liberated from the verses of the holy Qur’an (QS Al Isra (17): 44).

Abstract

The construction of the hotel that was opposed by the users of water resource triggered the emergence of social movement. While inititating movement, they initiated the programs of community empowerment as well. It means that the community empowerment is one of strategies of movement. Then, besides focusing on cultural activities, the other activities are the optimization of youth potentials and the care about community activities. In this context, the ecological cultural is joined by the other community interests. This strategy is effective because the empowerment stimulated the development of social network and local culture. The critic of this empowerment is culture is not a central of activities. The culture is still used as instrument for the conservation of environment. This stance is always questioned and criticized by the environmental and cultural activists in Malang Town. This article will describe the model of cultural ecological empowerment in Batu City that is described from the emergence of community empowerment, the forms of the community empowerment, the form of social changes after interventions, and the strengths and weaknesses of this empowerment. This article utilized the descriptive research method with ethnographical approach. Meanwhile, the used sampling is purposive sampling with eight subjects of research are activists of Nawakalam Gemulo, community based organization in Cangar Hamlet, Bulukerto Village, Batu City.
