This multidiscipline research combines models and theoretical guidance of Indonesia Broadcasting Commission in implementing ethical behavioral guidance toward television broadcasting programs as mass media, a case study at Trans7. This qualitative research examined on how both Television management and Indonesia Broadcasting Commission highlight and perceive behavioral acting of host relating to entertainment programs. In one hand, program producer is able to construct, construe, and reconstruct societal opinions and mindset to its program. On the other hand, Indonesia Broadcasting Commission (KPI) construes the television program overacting and unethical. KPI judges the behavior of the program host does not deserve to present to the society referring to the broadcasting regulations, especially broadcasting behavioral guidance and broadcasting program standard (P3-SPS). Analyzing the implications television broadcasting program is a matter of negative image towards national culture and social norms through significant participant observation. This phenomenon is alarming, considering the host of TV programs which in the long run will be able to influence social value system and national culture. As it is able to gain an extensive understanding towards the identity makeup and sense of television broadcasting programs that exist within Indonesian society.

Research on the adaptation process of students from other regions aim to answer fundamental things related to the adaptation process of students from other regions who are studying at Binus University. Appropriate adaptation process can help create conducive environment to achieve good quality of learning (good quality of education). With good adaptability, students are expected to graduate well too. Becoming excellent graduates are the dream of every student, parents and university as well as community and country. Research of adaptation process of students from other regions who are studying at Binus University was conducted with descriptive qualitative methodology, the data obtained through in-depth interviews in the field and then were exposed to inductive analysis through the stages planned. To support the study, data collection is done in the following way: observation, survey, search and find key informants, and conducted in-depth interviews. Once the data is collected and analyzed then the next step is to generate data on the final results report. Students who come from other regions view that the process of adaptation is important and should be done. What is important and should be done in an adaptation process includes several things, such as the distance between students’ new area of domicile to campus, social culture in students’ place of origin to the students’ new area of domicile, and the situation of environmental conditions (society) of students’ place of origin to students’ new domicile as well as individual specific views (attitudes and behaviors ). Students from other regions adapt in a variety of ways, ranging from respecting new area of domicile custom, getting involved in students’ activities in campus and to comply with regulations. Adaptation also needs to be done to the entire academic community, including with other related environment. From the results of the study also showed that students who come from other regions view adaptation process is associated with learning outcomes at the university.

Research goal is to analyze the crisis of event implementation image of Jakarta Fair 2013, done by JIExpo which changing from people orientation to business orientation. This research is motivated by the desire of the city government to restore the original concept of the event held for the people. Research used qualitative method approach to find out more about the communications made by the city government. Information and data were obtained through interviews conducted by the visitor and direct observation in the field. Triangulation was used to test the validity of research data. Source selection was done using purposive sampling technique. The analysis used the analysis of the reduction is to collect, dispose of, and process the information and then displays the data and drawing conclusions. Results achieved that the promotional activities undertaken by JIEXPO are able to attract many people's attention to come even though it is located quite far away and charged. However, the party criticized the government organization that is not after the populist concept. Conclusion from the research organization of this annual event remains one of alternative entertainment for society in general and in particular to the people of Jakarta and surrounding areas. However, the need to accommodate the delivery of PT JIEXPO small businesses to be able to participate in the annual event. There needs to be an open conversation that is a win-win solution between PT JIExpo with the city government.

Productivity of the company depends on a leader's attempt to control staff via two-way communication. Binus University as a university that relies on IT-based communication has several advantages: cost, distance, and time reduced. However there are also a few problems, such as unreadable nonverbal communication and lack of formality and respect between subordinates and superiors. This study aims to determine vertical and horizontal communication in Binus University which form leadership style based on company local wisdom so that the company may become an institution of higher education that counts. In addition, study aims to determine how corporate culture may establish the company local wisdom in Binus University. Study used descriptive-qualitative method by doing interview and observation to some key informants. Results show that Binus University implements vertical and horizontal flow of information for communication openly and equally within the university. Leadership in Binus always embeds culture that becomes values of Binusian which are composed of 5 points: trust in God, sense of belonging, sense of closing, benchmarking, and continuous improvement in every meeting between leaders and employees. Binus University has also implemented three components forming company local wisdom, namely transformational leadership, culture and corporate structure, and effective knowledge transfer method.

Discussion of the draft of National Security Act in the House of Representatives cannot be separated from the political charge. Politicization of policy formulation in the draft of National Security Act sometimes can lead to the policy distortion. The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the policy politicization of National Security Act draft. This study revealed that from the aspect of “all questions political questions”, the Parliament gives a political question in the framework of the process of policy control. In the second aspect, “all issues political issues”, issues that arise and become a concern are issues which are considered threaten the human rights and democracy. In the third, “all values political values”, the parliament is fighting for the human rights and democracy values. From the last aspect of “all decisions political decisions”, the parliament political decision for not approving the draft, because it is not in favor with the agenda of reformation and democracy. This study concluded that the politicization of policy in the Draft Law is still considered normal. Politicization occurred because policy adoption involves the executive and the legislature, in the context of political checks and balances.

Article presents an animated film related to ideological development in Cuba. This effort brings an understanding of ideology and cultural policy of Cuba as a communist state. Presentation begins with summary of the story, history and background, ideological concepts, and the movie Vampires in Havana itself. It is concluded that the film represents ideological disputes between capitalism and Marxism in Cuba, as well as giving an ideal perspective on how the world should work.

Article intended to find out the most frequent ambiguity that could be found in the sentences and the intended meaning. Data were taken from Kaskus and Facebook web sites, and then tests were given to students who had learned syntax and semantics to know their ability in noticing ambiguous sentences. The results show that there are among 13 sentences or phrases, 12 of them are lexically ambiguous and 1 sentence is structurally ambiguous. From the result, it can be concluded that there are many people making an ambiguous sentence without realizing it.

Towards information technology era, every organization is urged to be able to produce information related to its environment in order to survive and to compete. Information gathering process stage will cause to new concept as a basic for organization in its event planning. The purpose of the article is to acknowledge information function related to consumer behavior as organization communication with the public, analyse, produce, and use it for the interest of organization’s working planning. Every data and information in the article come from literature study by processing information from books and mass media. This research is set to determine the cause of late childhood smoking and whether the factor behind late child hood smoking is the same with teenagers. The background of this research are the findings of Tobacco Control Support Center that 3 out of 10 students are found to be smoking before reaching the age of 10. This research uses qualitative case study research through observation and in-depth direct interview towards 3 male subjects aged 11 who smokes every day. Results show that the 3 subjects smoke due to personal factor, friends, family and cigarette advertisements. Most of the factor behind the smoking behavior are found to be in the sociogenic motive category. Therefore, it could be concluded that the smoking behavior of the 3 subjects is not purely from the personal factor, but more of the environmental factor having big part in creating smoking behavior in the 3 subjects. Factors behind smoking behavior of the three late childhood subjects and teenagers have a lot in common. Friend factor is the first driving factor of smoking behavior on both late childhood and teenager.

Movie is one entertainment that is favored by most people. Scenery appearance and spectacular shoots made movie needs high budget for the production. There are shoots looking difficult and needing extra efforts, but obviously it could be solved by using latest technology. Such technology is a combination of 3D and digital painting or image so it could bring digital painting alive: matte painting, a breakthrough in visual effects and movie. The research is conducted through exploration from manipulated images, references and retrieved real images in the specific place. Camera movement is also an important frame to define how far the image will be seen in the camera. So, when it is applied, it has no images that less-showed in camera framing. Although it has limitation in 2D images taken from limited frame, digital matte painting is able to answer industry needs in entertainment to create things that look real.
