Abstract

This research sees an overview of honesty as the basis of students’ moral virtue who had taken courses Character Building at Bina Nusantara University. An honest person is one who has the power of the heart goes to the rules and principles of righteous living. Gea, Wulandari, & Babari (2002) conclude that if people have the virtue of honesty, they will not lie or cheat, even though they had the opportunity to do so. Moral virtue is a permanent and stable trend. Virtue is a good trait ingrained in one. The virtue relates to the will, as it relates to the will of the intent or motivation of the performer to be very important, so it is definitely virtuous behaviors with good intentions. The virtue is gained through the process of getting used to and practices. Virtue makes people be good personally (Bertens, 2002). By doing honest means the individual is said to have a moral virtue. The results were distributed to students who got the courses. From the results of the data on the questionnaire distributed to the students who got CB courses as 161 people, results of their honesty are not low. Most of the honesty they got was 61.7%, while the highest honesty is 38.3%.

Abstract

PT. Tigamata Indonesia is a company engaged in the service of graphic design or creative industries. PT Tigamata Indonesia is not a new company, because before using the name of PT Tigamata Indonesia, this company has become a business entity that already has quite a lot of customer. Thus, PT. Indonesian Tigamata need public relations to manage communications with customers. The purpose of this study was to determine the public relations strategy of PT. Tigamata Indonesia in the communication between the company and the customer. The method used is qualitative-descriptive. Data were analyzed by using a technique that consists of data collection, data reduction, data display and conclusion. The results showed PT. Tigamata Indonesia has done public relations strategy in the form of communication through various media to build relationships with customers. The conclusion of this study is PT. Tigamata Indonesia has not reached a clear public relations strategy because of the lack of knowledge of the field of public relations company. It takes a more structured system of communication so that communication can be managed better and achieve maximum results. Therefore, PT. Tigamata Indonesia needs the concept of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) to enhance public relations strategy that is already owned by the company.

Abstract

Nowadays, technology has developed in many different disciplines. One of the technologies that have been used in design interior is AutoCAD software used in technical drawing. This AutoCAD software has been well-known by drafters. Advantages of this software are small period time of working, drawing with precisely measurement; and it is environmental friendly because it uses digital data that can reduce paper use. Drawing decorative ornament is one of difficulties that have been avoided by students to draw. Therefore the purpose of this article is to give information about steps of drawing decorative element using AutoCAD for their technical drawing in interior design. The article used literature study and website of professional institutions about AutoCAD as an additional source to be explanations about pattern of each ornament. Results of using this technique in AutoCAD will minimize time consuming, and it will help students draw the Indonesian archipelago decorative ornament.

Abstract

The researcher classified whistleblowing system, its protection in Indonesia, and compared it with practices in the United States of America (USA). The researcher used the qualitative descriptive method with secondary data, such as legislation, news, articles from competent internet sources, journals, books and presentation materials that related to whistleblowers. It finds that whistleblowing has been proven as one of most effective way to nurture good corporate government. On the other hand, it demands the proper protection for its blowers. This research suggested Indonesian government to improve whistleblowing system through comprehensive legislations and coordination among related institutions. Witness and Victim Protection Agency (Lembaga Perlindungan Saksi dan Korban/LPSK) have a vital role in improving support for the reporters.

Abstract

Fiedler has theory which is called “contingency model”. According to him, if an organization attempts to achieve group effectiveness through leadership, then there is a need to assess the leader according to an underlying trait, assess the situation faced by the leader, and construct a proper match between the two. With Fiedler model, researchers were doing assessment to one of the student organization in Bina Nusantara University, which is BNCC 22nd student committee. The result of the research is that student organization in this case two committees from BNCC show two different results. The first one does not fit with Fiedler model, which is the “people oriented” leader can make an effective leadership, and the second one with “people oriented” leader seems not effective to lead the committee with more old member of the organization.

Abstract

The article investigates the internal communication in the two branches of foreign banks in Kelapa Gading from the perspectives of two-way symmetrical communication and internal marketing. The second problem investigated is the effectiveness of the use of email as a means of internal communication. Data were collected through interviews and literature. The results showed that the perception of employees not in accordance with the concept of two-way communication and internal marketing, but this policy has led the organization to these concepts. In the use of email, employee perceptions still see that the email is an effective internal communication media despite having many weaknesses.

Abstract

This study describes how scents can be a trigger for the memories about relationships. Scents inhaled do not only awaken a person's thoughts and feelings about the beautiful and fun memories in the past, but can trigger emotions also, especially the emotion of love ending up in miserable way, without power to strengthen it. Change is constant, as well as scent, its existence can always be a trigger of the emotional memories of love that is still tethered. Scents send specific messages of communication. They are associated with attraction and often trigger emotional romantic feelings. What can be triggered by scent or what sort of emotions that can be caused by a particular scent really depends on the experience, memories, and, to some extent, cultural background because every culture has various mapping on scent. Scent is closely linked to perception. In communications, scent is classified as artifactual communication or nonverbal communication. Olfactics or olfactory communication, or the study of scent is very important in a variety of communication situations. Olfactics in communications is to attract people's attention, to complement the flavors and tastes, to recall the events of emotional situations, and to form an image of one self and identity. Scents specifically trigger the memories of romantic feelings and affect a person’s feelings. This study analyzed the love relationships experienced by informants who have had romantic relationship for at least one year. The paradigm used in this study is positivism, with descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are in-depth interview and observation.

Mori Ogai is a welknown Japanese author in the modern Japanese literature, that is literatures that reflect a modern society living. This modern society tries to disclose social status and raise freedom and righyt equality as the basic of modern life. One of his novels, Takase Bune clarifies Mori Ogai views on Euthanasia (Anrakushi). Article presents the views of a prominent writer as well as medical practitioner on the Japanese Army on Euthanasia practice.

This article analyzes an Indonesian version of Contemporary Chinese teaching material. It is found that in this teaching material there are several problems relating to the content of text, translation, and context of text if it is used by Indonesian students. Therefore, it needs to consider “five elements” of language, cultural, and teaching principles in compiling the Chinese teaching materials for Indonesian students.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper was to make people aware of the new concept design of the food court that influence the ambiance and related to the attractiveness factors. The method of documentation of the interior element was done by the analysis to the food court in Senayan City. It was expected to be a comparison of the previous design before the renovation (Food Studio) in connection with the modernization and renewal of the design (Delicaè). Some design elements such as floor wall and ceiling that applied must bear a lasting impression and be an inbuilt piece of the decoration that linked to scale, style, and color. This research was potentially contributed to shopping malls attractiveness factors and their impact on shoppers’ satisfaction in shopping malls in Jakarta and outside the city. It can be concluded that updating the design is very important if the shopping malls do not want to left-behind in this modern area. The comparison has been made between old-design with the new one that is found out that people nowadays are very open-minded about design and do care about attractive things in shopping malls.
