Abstract

Japanese Business Correspondence is a course that is given by 7 Japanese language study institutions all around Jabodetabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi). Each institution has their own uniqueness which can be seen in course unit composition. The research method used in this research is survey. The result of this research is that most institutions teach the general correspondence rather than business correspondence. It is also found that there are 2 institutions having uniqueness compared with the other five institutions. The two institutions are STBA LIA and BINUS University. The speciality of STBA LIA is the subject related to verbal correspondence. Meanwhile, BINUS University is more specialized in email-format correspondence.

Abstract

When a brand will communicate with people through visual media, then a visual communication designer will act as the sender in meaningful visual. A vehicle product assurance, Autocillin, will launch its brand; therefore it needs to presence visual identity of Autocillin, which is able to change people’s perception about assurance and also to represent brand image according to its ideals and hopes with its philosophy. Research method uses theory approach of semiotic theory from Peirce with its developing on icon, index and symbol. It also uses semiotic theory from Charles Morris of its semiotic processes: syntax, semantic, and pragmatic; and Roland Barthes approach of semiotic analysis towards design. It will be concluded that through visual identity, Autocillin could answer needs in communicating unprecedented experience of its consumers and change people’s perception of vehicle assurance. Through sign approach, Autocillin is ready to interact and compete with other brands.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to acquire, collect and analyze data needed to realize the design of short animated 3D films with a folklore theme which is presented  with a visually appeal to interest spectators, especially children, so the moral message can be conveyed. The research method is to survey directly to the field, namely the cultural center of Indonesia TMII, playground and library. In addition to the literature media such as books, magazines and journals and supported with references from the internet media relating to the topic. Results to be achieved are for the moral message conveyed in this animated folklore film can be received and understood by the audience, especially children. Conclusion at the present time, visual communications media such as movies and television shows are very popular among children. So by using the medium of animated films, children will be more interested and may like local folklore again, since local productions are not of lesser quality than the outside impressions.

Abstract

 The purpose of this study was to examine several aspects that affected the development history of Gedung Kesenian Jakarta, in terms of function, space program and building design. Another thing is to obtain complete data and analyze the development of GKJ based on the historical period. This study will described in terms of history and different functions of building since period of British occupation in Batavia, the arrival of the Dutch until the present era. Besides, it will review the phenomenon of changes in building related to ecology, environment, and current technology equipments. This research is based on data literartures and interviews with the GKJ. In conclusion, this study will discuss the existence of GKJ in relation to local identity, supporting factors of the changes, development and the existence of current GKJ conditions.

Abstract

Collection of antique furniture is the most dominant type collection belongs to the Jakarta History Museum. The museum building is located in tourist areas Kotatua Jakarta, which became the center of historic and cultural development of the city. The purpose of this research is to determine the condition of furniture in the museum's collections so that the rescue of cultural heritage and history associated with the city through the exhibition can be done well. Methods of research conducted by collecting data from various literature sources, surveys and interviews with the management of Jakarta History Museum as a resource. Unfortunately, the furniture collection is currently not maintained and not well protected so that the high historical value of cultural heritage and history of the city of Jakarta is almost negligible. Conclusion from this research is to realign of the furniture collection at the Museum of History of Jakarta.

Abstract

The research is regarding 4 class cycle about interdisciplinary teaching technique of literature teaching in BINUS International School Simprug, Jakarta. The interdisplinary teaching is done in grade 10 in 3 subjects of Indonesian Language and Literature, Computer (IT), and Visual Arts. The teaching topic is Ma Yan, a novel about Muslim teenager who struggles for education in Zhang Jiashu, a remote village in China. This teaching climax is talk show with the writer of Ma Yan and its publisher followed with visual arts show from the students. The observation result shows that talent and involvement of students are high through the learning materials, proved by assignments done in time and their antusiasm towards their projects and assignments.

Abstract

In studying the Japanese language there are many things that must be understood such as verbs, particles, adjectives and conjunctions. From existing various conjunctions, the author conducted an analysis of the conjunctions yue ni and shitagatte which has the same meaning but different in its use. The research method used was literature research method is to retrieve data from the Japanese newspaper website asahi.com. The purpose of this study is to investigate the function of conjunctions yue ni and shitagatte and know when to use shitagatte and when to use yue ni. After conducting an analysis of the 3 articles in which contains shitagatte and 3 articles in which contains yue ni, the authors conclude that the sentence after shitagatte only emphasize on the effect or outcome of the sentence before shitagatte, while on sentences after yue ni, in addition to a result or the results also contained elements of desire.

Abstract

Case study in Institution X is purposed to see connection between new employee selection result as psychological test and employee interview in KPI, a competencies and total score after working at least 1 year. This case study related to how important the connection between the two variables, especially related to validity from existing selection test. This research uses quantitative method (statistical calculation) with gathering main data in Institution X, with descriptive and correlation method. Subjects are 160 employees selected on 2008 and have been through performance evaluation on 2009, in different positions and levels. The general result shows that there is no significant connection between test result and employees’ performance result in KPI, competencies and total score. Suggestion for this study is by giving test tools renovation for selecting new employees.

Abstract

Every organization, require maintenance or improvement of performance for institutional sustainability. To maintain or improve performance, various kinds of business or methods developed. Various methodologies always involves a person or human element in organizations. Deepening and understanding of performance, will greatly assist the organization. When talking about performance in an organizational context, it is not sufficient if we only look at the paradigm in which individual capabilities we need to also look at the paradigm of interactions between individuals. To this we can turn to the model developed from HPT. From the discussion we propose a model that combines these two things, namely, the performance of (K) = individual resources (SDI) + interaction effectiveness (EI).

Nowadays, editing technology has entered the digital age. Technology will demonstrate the evidence of processing analog to digital data has become simpler since editing technology has been integrated in the society in all aspects. Understanding the technique of processing analog to digital data is important in producing a video. To utilize this technology, the introduction of equipments is fundamental to understand the features. The next phase is the capturing process that supports the preparation in editing process from scene to scene; therefore, it will become a watchable video.
