Abstract

The objective of this research was to create a closed-domain of automated question answering system specifically for events called Eve. Automated Question Answering System (QAS) is a system that accepts question input in the form of natural language. The question will be processed through modules to finally return the most appropriate answer to the corresponding question instead of returning a full document as an output. Thescope of the events was those which were organized by Students Association of Computer Science (HIMTI) in Bina Nusantara University. It consisted of 3 main modules namely query processing, information retrieval, and information extraction. Meanwhile, the approaches used in this system included question classification, document indexing, named entity recognition and others. For the results, the system can answer 63 questions for word matching technique, and 32 questions for word similarity technique out of 94 questions correctly.

Abstract

This research aimed to categorize questions posted in Opini.id. N-gram and Bag of Concept (BOC) were used as the lexical features. Those were combined with Naïve Bayes, Support Vector Machine (SVM), and J48 Tree as the classification method. The experiments were done by using data from online media portal to categorize questions posted by user. Based on the experiments, the best accuracy is 96,5%. It is obtained by using the combination of Bigram Trigram Keyword (BTK) features with J48 Tree as classifier. Meanwhile, the combination of Unigram Bigram (UB) and Unigram Bigram Keyword (UBK) with attribute selection in WEKA achieves the accuracy of 95,94% by using SVM as the classifier.

Abstract

The variation in illumination is one of the main challenging problem for face recognition. It has been proven that in face recognition, differences caused by illumination variations are more significant than differences between individuals. Recognizing face reliably across changes in pose and illumination using PCA has proved to be a much harder problem because eigenfaces method comparing the intensity of the pixel. To solve this problem, this research proposes an online face recognition system using improved PCA for a service robot in indoor environment based on stereo vision. Tested images are improved by generating random values for varying the intensity of face images. A program for online training is also developed where the tested images are captured real-time from camera. Varying illumination in tested images will increase the accuracy using ITS face database which its accuracy is 95.5 %, higher than ATT face database?s as 95.4% and Indian face database?s as 72%. The results from this experiment are still evaluated to be improved in the future.

Abstract

This research aimed to explore the correlation or influence factors between the background of female passengers with perceived ease of use factors in Online Transportation Application (OTA). This research was explanatory and descriptive (causal) research. The respondents were the female users of OTA. The total of respondents was 408 people. SPSS applications were used to process the data. Then, the cross-tabulation was to find the correlation or influence factors. In the end, the researchers find 19 factors that are essential for future research.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to find the effect of the combination of soybean and pumpkin seeds on the chemical characteristics of pumpkin seed tempeh. The pumpkin seed tempeh samples were analyzed for its water, ash, protein, fat, carbohydrate and crude fiber. Meanwhile, support data were isoflavone and zinc. Sensory hedonic was conducted by 25 untrained panelists for selecting the best formulation of soybean and pumpkin seeds in tempeh. The result shows the formulation of soybean and pumpkin seeds in various combinations (100:0, 85:15, 70:30, 55:45, and 40:60). It gives a significant effect on the water, protein, fat, carbohydrate, and crude fiber. Moreover, all acceptance on pumpkin seed tempeh is on the level of ? = 0,01 and ? = 0,05. The best combination of soybean and pumpkin seeds is 40:60, with chemical analysis results which are water (33,7%), ash (5,31%), protein (65,65%), fat (54,57%), carbohydrate (5,94%), crude fiber (14,06%) (db), zinc (30,05 ppm), and isoflavones (42,10 mg/100g). Chemical characteristics of the selective pumpkin seed tempeh have fulfilled SNI 3144-2015 regarding water, protein and fat.

Abstract

This research aimed to provide a theoretical framework for intrinsically nonlinear models with two additive error terms. To achieve this, an iterative Gauss-Newton via Taylor Series expansion procedures for Estimated Generalized Least Square (EGLS) technique was adopted. This technique was applied in estimating the parameters of an intrinsically nonlinear split-plot design model where the variance components were unknown. The unknown variance components were estimated via Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) method. To achieve the numerical stability in the iterative process of estimating the parameters, Householder QR decomposition was used. The results show that EGLS method presented in this research is available and applicable to estimate linear fixed, random, and mixed-effect models. However, in practical situations, the functional form of the mean in the model is often nonlinear due to the dynamics involved in the system process.

Abstract

The students? academic performance is one of important evaluation factors in accreditation. It is interesting to explore the factors which give impact to the academic achievement or performance. This research put academic performance as the research problem. Since this research was combining two disciplines: information systems (IS) and educational management (EM), it set Internet Use (representing IS) and self-esteem (representing EM) as factors impacting the academic performance. Moreover, this research used the quantitative method. Based on the quantitative research model, the research used primary data collected from students of ABFI Institute of Perbanas, Jakarta. The data was calculated using a statistical tool called SPSS. The descriptive statistics was also applied to describe the variables, and regression technique was for describing the relationship between the variables. After analyzing the data, the research finds that self-esteem affects the academic performance significantly and positively, but the Internet use does not impact the academic performance significantly.

Abstract

This research applied information system by using Supply Chain Management (SCM) in the pharmaceutical warehouse in Mamasa Regency. The scope of the research was maximized on pharmaceutical warehouse operations and drug distribution to clinics. This research did not focus on cost, profit, lead time, and procurement costs. This system was built using PHP programming language and MySQL database. System development process used waterfall method. It consisted of requirement analysis, system analysis, design, development, and testing. The test system used the xampp 6.2 servers with a black box testing method that involved the pharmaceutical warehouse staff as the end user. The results demonstrate technologies that can be used by physicians to submit drug requests faster and report on real-time drug use (LPLPO). For pharmaceutical warehouses, this system is useful for drug availability, drug management, and response information. This technology can help the health department to perform its role as a supervisory or controlling function (internal controls) of the drugs. This research also gives a recommendation for the pharmaceutical warehouse management in providing benefits for the institutions/companies involved. This research has an insight for the management to realize the importance of Information Technology (IT) to support daily operational activities.
