Abstract

Dezh Mountain site is the site occupancy of Japanese colonial period in Kampung Solol, Salawati, where the site of Mount Dezh describe Japan’s political strategy in the control of Papua. As for the archaeological remains found on this site in the form of foundation of the house, ceramic fragments, and fragments bicycle rim. Other archaeological findings were found in the location of Kampung Solol are tools factory. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the forms of archaeological remains on the site of Mount Dezh and know the function of the archaeological remains. The method used in this study is the observation, literature and interviews ABSTRAKSitus Gunung Dezh adalah situs hunian masa kolonial Jepang di Kampung Solol, Pulau Salawati, keberadaan situs Gunung Dezh menggambarkan strategi politik Jepang dalam menguasai Papua. adapun tinggalan arkeologi yang ditemukan pada situs ini berupa fondasi rumah, fragmen keramik, dan fragmen pelek sepeda. Temuan arkelogi lainnya yang ditemukan di lokasi Kampung Solol adalah alat-alat pabrik. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan mengetahui bentuk-bentuk tinggalan arkeologi di situs Gunung Dezh dan mengetahui fungsi dari tinggalan arkeologi tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi lapangan, studi pustaka dan wawancara.

Abstract

Austronesian language speakers migrated to Southeast Asia and Indo-Pacific around 3500 years ago. Austronesian language speakers left traces of technology and cultures through the remains of artefacts. No exception in the area of South Sumatra also indicates the presence of the artefacts and cultures that characterize the Austronesian language speaking cultures. This paper will discuss the trail Austonesia speakers in South Sumatra through the remains of its culture.

Abstract

Raja Ampat is part of the province of West Papua which consists of four major islands, namely Pulau Waigeo, Salawati, Batanta and Misool and small islands in the vicinity. Misool Island is located in the southern part of the range of the Raja Ampat archipelago. The area is geographically possible to the cultural contacts with the Islamic community, such as Ternate and Tidore. Research with archaeological survey found some evidence of the influence of Islamic culture in the district of South Misool, West Misool, Misool Misool East and North. The findings in the form of manuscripts, musical instruments, tombs, mosques, the former palace, Klauster settlements, old wells and finding fragments of ceramics and pottery and stone swearing. In addition, at the time the site of Islam, during the later also received the Dutch colonial influence as evidenced by the discovery of a police station, the hostel employee Netherlands, and the Dutch administrative offices. This shows that the dimensions of the site are very diverse and its dynamics will be described in this paper.

Abstract

Prehistoric terminology of Indonesia, Wajak human life begins from approximately 40.000 years ago, artifact similar Sumatralith or often mentioned with hoabinhian term was found spread almost all over the archipelago. Based of homo sapiens sites dating and artifact hoabinhian was found on site Wajak approximately 40.000 years. There are still many problems of migration of peoples who inhabited the region of Southeast Asia and the Pacific that has not been completely answered.

Abstract

Ceramics in the presence of Misool Island, Raja Ampat attractive to explore, see the geographical position of the island which is on track trade traffic between the kingdom of Ternate, Tidore and kingdoms in the island of Misool. Ceramics found on the island of Misool derived from the Ching Dynasty, the Ming Dynasty, ceramic Europe, Japan and the Netherlands. Ceramic forms found them shape plate, bowl, and drain tube in fragmentary form. The purpose of this paper is to find out since when traded ceramics and ceramic forms were traded. The method used in this research is the data collection methods that include library research, field surveys while the data processing methods include shape analysis.AbstrakKeberadaan keramik di Pulau Misool Kabupaten Raja Ampat menarik untuk ditelusuri, melihat posisi geografis pulau tersebut yang berada pada jalur lintas perdagangan antara kerajaan Ternate, Tidore dan kerajaan yang ada di Pulau Misool. Keramik- keramik yang ditemukan di Pulau Misool berasal dari Dinasti Ching, Dinasti Ming, keramik Eropa, Jepang dan Belanda. Bentuk- bentuk keramik yang ditemukan diantaranya bentuk piring, mangkok, cepuk dan cerat dalam bentuk fragmentaris. Tujuan penulisan ini adalah untuk mengetahui sejak kapan perdagangan antara masyarakat pulau Misool dengan masyarakat pulau-pulau di sekitarnya dan bentuk-bentuk keramik apa saja yang diperdagangkan di pulau Misool. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode pengumpulan data yang meliputi studi pustaka, survei lapangan sedangkan metode pengolahan data meliputi analisis bentuk.

Abstract

This paper aims to propose a discussion about the existence of Saccharum spp in Papua which is based on archaeological and ethnographic study. The academic discipline such as literary studies, archaeology, ecology etc been so intensely involved in answering the question about the origins of Saccharum spp. Unpublished research together with some previously published results also etnography data is provide in this paper to explore the possibility and an explanation of cultural process especially the the influence of the Hobcene period in the introduction for the growth of plants, such as Saccharum spp. it is concluded that Papua has long played a key role in the development of plants including Saccharum spp. AbstrakTulisan ini bertujuan untuk mendlskusikan mengenai keberadaan jenis Saccharum.spp di Papua yang didasarican pada data arkeologi dan juga data etnografi. Penelitian mengenai Saccharum spp telah lama menjadi bahan penelitian oleh beberapa disiplin ilmu seperti: arkeologi, lingkungan, bahasa dan lain sebagainya telah sangat aktif dalam menjawab berbagai macam pertanyaan terutama terkait dengan asai usul dari tanaman Saccharum spp. Adapun data yang diulas dalam tuiisan ini yakni berasal dari beberapa tulisan baik itu yang pemah dipublikasikan, tulisan yang tidak dipublikasikan dan juga tidak tertinggal data etnografl. Data-data ini dlmaksudkan untuk memberikan penjeiasan serta kemungkinan atas prosea budaya dari tumbuhan termasuk Saccharum spp baik yang ditemukan dalam situs-situs arkeologi maupun yang digunakan dalam suku-suku yang ada di Papua sekarang ini. Kesimpulan yang ditarik dalam tulisan ini adalah adanya kemungkinan yang menjelaskan tentang peranan Papua pada masa lalu sebagai tempat asal tumbuh kembangnya beberapa jenis tumbuhan termasuk Saccharum spp.

Abstract

This essay will explain about the form of the utilization of the cave karas thathas lasted in the past. The path of activity seen with the fi nding in the form of anartifact and ecofak that is concerned the environment and the presence of an imageon walls and ceilings caveman. In this research using a qualitative approach witha descriptive method. The technique of collecting data through study of literature,observation, and excavation. Next the data has got processed until the conclusionsand advice found. The fi ndings results excavation and observation in the karascave then noted and done a summation after classifi ed.Based on the results ofthis research, the analysis showed that the cave had been utilized as a Karas cavedwelling. These fi ndings indicate the utilization of cave dwelling on aspects as Karashorizontal as well as vertical side burial. In addition, the existence of human bonefragments and the fi ndings of the existence of the pictures on the cave’s wall showsa connection with the utilization of space in the karas cave. Thus the existence ofarchaeological fi ndings related to the cultural process in utilizing space in Karascave.ABSTRAKTulisan ini mengungkapkan tentang bentuk pemanfaatan gua Karas yangtelah berlangsung pada masa lalu. Jejak aktifi tas terlihat dengan adanya temuanberupa artefak dan ekofak yang berkaitan lingkungan maupun adanya gambarpada dinding dan langit-langit gua. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatankualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui studi pustaka,observasi, dan ekskavasi. Selanjutnya data yang diperoleh diolah sampai padapenyusunan interpretasi hingga pada kesimpulan dan saran. Temuan hasil ekskavasidan observasi di gua Karas kemudian dicatat dan dilakukan penjumlahan setelahdiklasifi kasikan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dari penelitian ini, memperlihatkan bahwagua Karas pernah dimanfaatkan sebagai gua hunian. Temuan tersebut menunjukkanpemanfaatan gua Karas sebagai hunian pada aspek horizontal sekaligus sebagaipenguburan pada sisi vertikal. Selain itu, adanya temuan fragmen tulang manusiadan keberadaan gambar pada dinding gua menunjukkan adanya hubungan denganpemanfaatan ruang di gua Karas. Dengan demikian keberadaan temuan arkeologisberkaitan dengan proses budaya dalam memanfaatkan ruang di gua Karas.
