Abstract

Abstract: Advances in information technology — like a double-edged knife — bring benefits and harm to human life. To increase benefits and reduce harm, literacy is needed as the ability to use information effectively, efficiently and responsibly. The study of information literacy so far has revolved around developing standards and implementing them in the fields of education, employment and civil society. In this context, this article explores one dimension of information literacy, namely the nature of information and its implications for human life according to the Qur'an. To discuss this, a thematic-contextual interpretation approach is used. With this approach the understanding is obtained that information is not only instrumental in meeting human needs materially, but also spiritually. Information enables humans to understand the nature of their lives in their relationship with God, the universe, other people, and even the end of their destiny in life.الملخص: إن التقدم في تكنولوجيا المعلومات - مثل السكين ذو الحدين - يجلب الفوائد والأضرار للحياة البشرية. لزيادة الفوائد وتقليل الضرر ، هناك حاجة إلى محو الأمية المعلوماتية مثل القدرة على استخدام المعلومات بفعالية وكفاءة ومسؤولية. تمحورت دراسة محو الأمية المعلوماتية حتى الآن حول تطوير المعايير وتنفيذها في مجالات التعليم والتوظيف والمجتمع المدني. في هذا السياق ، تستكشف هذه المقالة أحد أبعاد محو الأمية المعلوماتية ، وهي طبيعة المعلومات وتداعياتها على حياة الإنسان وفقًا للقرآن. لمناقشة هذا ، يتم استخدام نهج التفسير الموضوعي السياقي. باستخدام هذا النهج ، يتم الحصول على الفهم بأن المعلومات ليست مفيدة فقط في تلبية احتياجات الإنسان ماديًا ، ولكن أيضًا روحانيًا. تمكن المعلومات البشر من فهم طبيعة حياتهم في علاقتهم بالله والكون والأشخاص الآخرين وحتى نهاية مصيرهم في الحياة.Abstrak: Kemajuan teknologi informasi—bagai sebilah pisau bermata dua—mendatangkan manfaat sekaligus mudarat bagi kehidupan manusia. Untuk meningkatkan manfaat dan menekan mudarat, diperlukan literasi informasi sebagai kemampuan untuk memanfaatkan informasi secara efektif, efisien, dan bertanggung jawab. Kajian tentang literasi informasi sejauh ini berkisar kepada penyusunan standar dan implementasinya dalam bidang pendidikan, pekerjaan, dan masyarakat sipil. Dalam konteks tersebut, artikel ini mengeksplorasi salah satu dimensi dari literasi informasi, yaitu sifat-sifat dasar informasi dan implikasinya bagi kehidupan manusia menurut al-Qur’an. Untuk membahasnya, digunakan pendekatan tafsir tematik-kontekstual. Dengan pendekatan ini diperoleh pengertian bahwa informasi tidak hanya bernilai instrumental dalam memenuhi kebutuhan manusia secara material, tetapi juga secara spiritual. Informasi memungkinkan manusia untuk memahami hakikat kehidupannya dalam relasinya dengan Tuhan, alam semesta, orang lain, dan bahkan kesudahan nasibnya dalam kehidupan.

Abstract

Abstract: Al-Fârâbî had mystical doctrines which are different from those of other philosophers, such as Shuhrawardi, al-H{allâj, al-Bust}ami, as well as Ibn 'Arabî. Al-Fârâbî’s mystical doctrines indeed are unique but very few researchers who had seriously studied them. In that context, this paper seeks to discuss mystical doctrines of Al-Fârâbî. Discussion is directed to the basic assumptions, their structures, and their relevances for contemporary religious life. This study found that the basic assumptions underlying mystical Al-Fârâbî are the view of wujûd and man's relationship with God. According to Al-Fârâbî an attempt to obtain happiness is by tapping soul of nâmiyah (plant life) and soul of h}assiyah (animal spirit) in order to achieve  soul of nât}iqah (soul of thinking). Through soul of nât}iqah, someone will be able to reach a gifted reason ('aql al-mustafâd). With the attainment of the gifted reason, someone will be in touch with 'Aql Fa'âl (Tenth Intellect), as a reason in wujûd rûh}iyah which serves as an intermediary between the nature of rûh}iyah with the nature of mâdiyah. Al-Fârâbî is theoretical mystics rather than practical one. Instead of the sufism of subjugation, the sufism of Al-Fârâbî is of awareness and of theoretical one.  Al-Fârâbî memiliki ajaran mistik yang berbeda dengan filosof lain, seperti Shuhrawardi, al-H{allâj, al-Bust}ami, dan juga Ibnu 'Arabî. Ajaran mistik Al-Fârâbî sesungguhnya unik namun sangat sedikit para peneliti yang mengkajinya secara serius. Dalam konteks itulah, tulisan ini berupaya membahas ajaran mistik Al-Fârâbî. Pembahasan diarahkan kepada asumsi dasar, konstruksi ajaran, dan implikasi ajaran mistik Al-Fârâbî, serta relevansinya bagi kehidupan keberagamaan kontemporer. Kajian ini menemukan bahwa asumsi dasar yang melandasi ajaran mistik Al-Fârâbî adalah pandangannya tentang wujûd dan hubungan manusia dengan Tuhan. Menurut Al-Fârâbî, usaha untuk memperoleh kebahagiaan dilakukan dengan cara menekan jiwa nâmiyah (jiwa tumbuh-tumbuhan) dan jiwa h}assiyah (jiwa binatang) agar dicapai jiwa nât}iqah (jiwa berpikir). Melalui jiwa nât}iqah, seseorang akan bisa mencapai akal terlimpah (‘aql al-mustafâd). Dengan pencapaian akal terlimpah, seseorang akan bisa berhubungan dengan ‘Aql Fa’âl (Akal Kesepuluh), sebagai akal dalam wujûd rûh}iyah yang bertugas sebagai perantara antara alam rûh}iyah dengan alam mâdiyah. Ajaran mistik Al-Fârâbî adalah ajaran mistik penalaran bukan sekedar tindakan praktis. Tasawuf Al-Fârâbî adalah tasawuf kesadaran bukan penundukan dan bercorak teoritis. Keywords: mistik Islam, filsafat Islam, Alfârâbi, tasawuf.

Abstract

Abstract: Abu> Isḥāq al-Shāṭibī,  a 14th century Muslim scholar is famous of his idea of maqāṣid shari>'ah. He succeeded in formulating fundamental values in the Qur'an. He is also known to have a different view of the Qur'an compared to the other uṣūl al-fiqh scholars. This article describes the Shāṭib’s view of the Sufism idea that the Qur'an conveys ẓāhir and bāṭin’s meaning. Shāṭibī concludes that the term zāhir is an understanding of original text as apprehended by the Arabs at the time of the emerge of the Qur'an. Meanwhile, bāṭin’s meaning is the real purpose of the Qur'an that Allah intends to. Shāṭibī  believes that leading to the understanding of the meaning of bāṭin can be done through tadabbur, as written by Abū Naṣr al-Sarrāj in al-Lumā'. Moreover, Shāṭib applied this idea in formulating the concept of maqāṣid shari>’ah. Although, he acknowledged the validity of interpretation by the meaning of bāṭin, Shāṭibī offers two requirements, namely, first, the meaning of bāṭin is conveyed in accordance to the ẓāhir text and it is not deviated from the rules of arabic language. Second, the conveyed meaning is supported by another verse clearly indicating the real meaning of bāṭin. Both requirements reflect the principles of the originality of Qurán and the absolute verses containing al-uṣūl al-kulliyyah. كان أبو ملخص:إسحاق الشاطبي مفكرا مسلما في القرن الرابع عشر، ويعرف حتى اليوم بفكرته عن مقاصد الشريعة. وحصل الشاطبي على صياغة القيم الأساسية في القرآن الكريم. ومن المعروف أيضا أن لديه وجهة نظر عن القرآن التي تختلف عن معظم الفقهاء الآخرين. و فى هذه المقالة شرح الشاطبي عن الفكرة الصوفية بأن القرآن له معنى باطن ومعنى ظاهر. واستنتج الشاطبي إلى أن مصطلح معنى الظاهر هو فهم النص الخالص، وهذا كما يفهمه العرب في وقت نزوله. وأما المعنى الباطن هو الهدف الحقيقي للقرآن الذي أراده الله. واستنتج الباحث أن الشاطبي وافق على هذه الفكرة. والطريقة التي يمكن أن يؤدي إلى فهم معنى الباطن هو طريقة التدبّر، وهذا كما كتبه أبو نصر السراج في اللمع. وأشار أنه وافق بهذه الطريقة لأنه قد استخدمها لصياغة مفهوم مقاصد الشريعة. وهو يقدم شرطين فى استخدام هذه الطريقة. أولا، أن يكون إنتاج المعنى الباطن وفقا لظاهر النص ولا ينحرف عن قواعد اللغة العربية. ثانيا، المعنى المنتج مناسب بآية أخرى التي تشير إلى صحة المعنى الباطن الذي تم حصوله. كل من هذه الشروط تصور عن المبادئ التي حصلها الشاطبي على أن القرآن الكريم عربي وإطلاق الآيات التي تحتوي على الأصول الكلية. Abstrak: Abu> Isḥāq al-Shāṭibī, sarjana Muslim abad ke-14 dikenal hingga kini dengan gagasan maqāṣid sharī‘ah. Ia berhasil merumuskan nilai-nilai fundamental dalam al-Qur’an. Ia juga dikenal memiliki pandangan terhadap al-Qur’an yang berbeda dengan kebanyakan ulama uṣūl fiqh lain. Dalam tulisan ini dijelaskan pandangan Shāṭibī mengenai gagasan kaum sufi bahwa al-Qur’an memiliki makna ẓāhir dan makna bāṭin. Mengenai konsep makna ẓāhir dan bāṭin, Shāṭibī menyimpulkan bahwa yang dimaksud ẓāhir adalah pemahaman terhadap teks murni sebagaimana yang dipahami orang Arab pada masa turunnya al-Qur’an. Sementara itu, yang dimaksud bāṭin adalah maksud al-Qur’an sebenarnya yang dikehendaki Allah. Setelah dilakukan penelitian, disimpulkan bahwa Shāṭibī setuju dengan gagasan ini. Adapun metode yang diakui Shāṭibī dapat mengantar menuju pemahaman makna bāṭin adalah dengan tadabbur, sebagaimana yang ditulis oleh Abū Naṣr al-Sarrāj dalam al-Lumāʻ. Penerimaan Shāṭibī terhadap metode ini tidak lepas dari fakta bahwa ia juga menggunakan metode yang sama untuk merumuskan konsep maqāṣid sharīʻah. Meski mengakui keabsahan penafsiran dengan makna bāṭin, Shāṭibī mengajukan dua syarat. Pertama, makna bāṭin yang dihasilkan sesuai dengan kondisi teks secara ẓāhir dan tidak melenceng dari kaidah-kaidah bahasa arab. Kedua, makna yang dihasilkan didukung oleh ayat lain secara jelas yang menunjukkan kebenaran makna bāṭin yang diperoleh. Kedua syarat ini mencerminkan prinsip yang dibangunnya yakni kearaban al-Qur’an dan mutlaknya ayat-ayat yang berisi al-uṣūl al-kulliyyah. Keywords: Hermeneutika, Tafsir Sufi, Maqāṣid Sharīʻah, Makna ẓāhir dan bāṭin.

Abstract

The issue of religious tolerance is one of the important issues in the last decade, especially among Indonesian Muslims. Basically, Islam through the concept of morals teaches compassion for humans as well as adherents of other religions. However, on the other hand, many Muslims then limit themselves to giving a positive attitude towards other religions because of fears of violating the faith. How the attitude of Islam towards other religions has been studied in the scientific study of Islam itself. However, most of the studies carried out were case studies and comparisons. While research in Islamic psychology also began to study a lot about behavior between religious groups, such as the construct of group favoritism. But not many have used the basis of a strong Islamic study as its justification. This study tries to conduct an integrative study between the study of literature from Islamic law with empirical studies of psychology. The literature study is carried out by conducting a study and comparison of various relevant references. Empirical studies were conducted by distributing questionnaires to several Islamic adolescents in Jabodetabek on a scale of group religiosity and favoritism. Furthermore, an analysis will be carried out by comparing and correlating the results of the literature and empirical studies. While the results of this study indicate that there is no group favoritism in Islam, because brotherhood for a Muslim is not only limited to fellow Muslims, but also to fellow non-Muslims or even other creatures of God.

Abstract

AbstractSubjectivist approach to the Qur’anic interpretation is essentially an attempt to contextualize the literal meaning of the Qur'anic text in the current context. Therefore, this approach does not use historical components to support the interpretation of the Qur'an. As a result, hadits, occasions of revelation (asbâb al-nuzûl) and the history of the Prophet (sîrah) are not used as source of the interpretation. Moreover, the interpretation using the subjectivist approach emphasizes more on the textual exploration of the Qur'anic verses by adhering to the logic and language of the Qur'an itself. Thus, the result of such interpretation fully represents the subjectivity of interpreter in exploring the meaning of Qur’anic text without the need to consider the objectivity of the meaning of the text. The subjectivist approach to the Qur’anic interpretation is shown by Edip Yuksel et. al. in their work Quran: A Reformist Translation, as a renewal in the field of translation and interpretation of the Qur'an in which the humanist principles of interpretation does not distinguish gender. Therefore, the application of their interpretation of the gender verses, as I have described in this study, will be relevant. Pendekatan subyektivis dalam penafsiran al-Qur’an pada dasarnya adalah upaya untuk kontekstualisasi makna literal teks Al-Qur'an ke dalam konteks saat ini. Oleh karena itu, pendekatan ini tidak menggunakan komponen sejarah untuk mendukung penafsiran al-Qur'an. Akibatnya, hadits, kesempatan wahyu (asbâb al-nuzûl) dan sejarah Nabi (sîrah). Selain itu, penafsiran dengan pendekatan subyektif lebih menekankan pada eksplorasi tekstual dari ayat-ayat Al-Qur'an dengan mengikuti logika dan bahasa Al-Qur'an itu sendiri. Dengan demikian, hasil interpretasi tersebut sepenuhnya dipengaruhi subyektivitas penafsir dalam mengeksplorasi makna teks al-Quran tanpa perlu mempertimbangkan objektivitas makna teks. Adapun pendekatan subyektif dengan penafsiran Alquran ditunjukkan oleh Edip Yuksel dkk. dalam karya mereka Quran: A Reformist Translation (Quran: Sebuah Terjemahan Reformis) sebagai pembaruan di bidang penerjemahan dan penafsiran al-Qur'an yang di dalamnya prinsip-prinsip humanis interpretasi tidak membedakan gender. Oleh karena itu, penerapan interpretasi mereka atas ayat-ayat gender, saya jelaskan dalam penelitian ini, akan menjadi relevan . Keywords: subjectivist approach, Qur’an reformist, gender interpretation

Abstract

Abstract: Spiritual intelligence (SQ) is the highest intelligence of human beings. There is correlation between spiritual intelligence and Allah. On the other word, someone who has spiritual intelligence should have highest relationship with Allah S. W. T.  Then, its relationship affected interaction among others because of Allah aided. Tarekat Qodiriah wa Naqsyabandia is one of the spiritual activities and it held at Masjid Al Bukhari Mojoroto Gelanglor Sukorejo Ponorogo. This activity is expected to increase spiritual intelligence of the pilgrims.To uncover those phenomenon, this study formulate the problem as follows 1) How is the implementation of Tarekat Qodiriah wa Naqsyabandiah at Masjid Al Bukhori Mojoroto Gelanglor Sukorejo Ponorogo ? 2) How are the pilgrims whose join Tarekat Qodiriah wa Naqsyabandiah at Masjid Al Bukhori Mojoroto Gelanglor Sukorejo Ponorogo? 3) What are the roles of Tarekat Qodiriah wa Naqsyabandiah to increase spiritual intelligence of the pilgrims in Pondok Pesantren Darul Ulum Poncol, Magetan?. This study conducted Descriptive Qualitative approach. Interview, observation, documentation were used to collect the data.Those found that (a) the implementation of Tarekat Qodiriah wa Naqsyabandiah at Masjid Al Bukhari Mojoroto Gelanglor Sukorejo Ponorogo is held thirty-five a days on Minggu (Sunday) Wage.  Furthermore, their activities are dzikir, istighosah, khususiah, reviewing Kitab, and manaqib. (b) There are diverse social stratification of the followers such high, low, and medium stratum.  They are almost 30 years old. (C) The activities of Tarekat Qadiriah wa Naqsabandiah at Masjid Al Bukhari Mojoroto Gelanglor Sukorejo Ponorogo have important roles in increasing Spiritual Intelligence, because the main sets of this activity provides one’s moral and social intelligences, able to manage themselves and have good relationship among others. Abstract

Abstract: Meritocracy is considered as a balance political system between the two aristocracy and plutocracy. Dispute it’s weaknesses, meritocracy can become solution for political chaos in our country. Al-Qur’an also talks about principles of meritocracy. This article is written to elaborate these principles through interpretation on al-Nu>r, 24: 55; al-Isra>’, 17: 84 and al-Tawbah, 9: 128. It is concluded that al-Qur’an agrees with the basic idea of meritocracy, it is to give an authority or to commend or to praise some one based on his or her achievements. Some of Qur’anic principles of meritocracy are: (1) capability, (2) morality, (3) professionality, (4) careness and responsibility  toward duties.  Keywords: Meritokrasi, al-Qur’an, Profesionalisme dan Etika Politik

Abstract

Abstract: This aim is to find career indecision model based on gender differences. Theoretically, model shows variables of gender roles, family support, career decision making self-efficacy, and willingness affect on career indecision results in both gender groups. Questionnaire was used to collect the data and the samples were 120 male and 260 female. Then the data was analyzed by SEM (Structural Equation Modeling). Then those indicated that there is distinguishes models on career indecision either male or female. Gender roles and family supports are not dominant factor that affect career indecision for male. While for female, career indecision is affected by gender roles and family supports. In addition, family supports affect the females’ willingness directly and in contrary with male. Then, this study suggests taking to heart on students’ cultural conditions when consulting students’ career.

Abstract

To carry out economic and political expansion in various countries, China has also exerted various public diplomacy efforts to maintain its image. Indonesia as one of the most important destinations is not an exception. This research aims to analyze various strategies adopted by China to sustain its positive image among Muslims in Indonesia. This study uses a qualitative method using the conceptual framework of public diplomacy. Data were collected from primary and secondary sources on the Indonesian government, the Chinese government, as well as Muslim groups in Indonesia from 2000 to 2019. This research shows that China, during the Xi Jinping era, has actively been carrying out public diplomacy activities specifically directed toward Muslims in Indonesia through official representatives, educational and cultural institutions, and Confucius Institutes.
