Abstract

The Ziarah tradition is one of the traditions of the Indonesian people that is often being held before Ramadan. The great influence of the existence of the Arab communities in the Palembang brought a tradition known to various countries so that it became religious tourism, namely the Ziarah Kubra. Ziarah Kubra  is one of the traditions of the people of Palembang city which is being held every 10 days before Ramadan by visiting the graves of the ulama and leaders of the Palembang Darussalam Sultanate. The purpose of this research is to find out how the emergence of the Ziarah Kubra carried out by the Arab communities in Palembang and to find out how the development of the Ziarah Kubra tradition in the people of Palembang city from 1970-2013. The method used in this research is the historical method. This research has shown that the tradition of the Ziarah Kubra has been brought by the people of Palembang has been developed every year, where's this tradition was only practiced by the Arab communities in the Palembang and relatives of the Palembang Sultanate. Then this tradition began to be open to the public in 1970 and was designated become the religious tourism by the Palembang city government in 2013. So that the people of Palembang continue.

Abstract

This research focuses on what is the adab in al-Ghazali's curriculum, and how can Imam al-Ghazali's curriculum of adab be a way of life for the alpha generation. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with the type of literature research and justification. The primary data source of this research is the book of Bidayatul Hidayah by Imam al-Ghazali. The results of the study found that the adab curriculum consisted of outward and inner adab. Here's the description; the etiquette of waking up from sleep, the etiquette of entering the toilet, wudhu etiquette, bathing etiquette, the etiquette of going and entering the mosque, the etiquette of self-preparation for salat, the etiquette wants to sleep, the etiquette of prayer, the etiquette of makmum, friday etiquette, the etiquette of fasting, the etiquette of guarding the eyes, the etiquette of guarding the ears, the etiquette of guarding the tongue, the etiquette of keeping the stomach, the etiquette of guarding the genitals, the etiquette of keeping two hands and two feet, abandoning hasad, abandon riya's nature, abandoning the nature of ujub, the etiquette with Allah SWT, student etiquette, the etiquette towards parents, the etiquette towards unknown persons, the etiquette towards close friends, the etiquette towards known people. Imam al-Ghazali justifies that if he practices the outward and inner adab, his faith will increase, and become a civilized person. So that the alpha generation who practice this inner and outer adab in their daily lives will become civilized individuals.

Abstract

Within Indonesian context, religious pluralism has been a polemic among Islamic scholars. Some are not agreed because they assume all religions are equal. Whilst others are agreed with understanding religious pluralism as a form of respect and belief in other religions. This paper discusses the concept of religious pluralism in the Qur'an. By using the thematic method and the maqashidi interpretation approach in the Indonesian context, it is concluded that the Qur'an recognizes religious plurality and recommends committing good for non-Muslims as long as they do not interfere. In Indonesia, the concept of religious pluralism is a social fact that invariably exists and requires interfaith coexistence by maintaining the specific characteristics or teachings of each religion. Seven efforts have at least been made to address religious pluralism in Indonesia which are establishing brotherhood (ukhuwah), egalitarianism (al-musawah), the principles of justice (al-'adalah), the principles of tolerance (tasamuh), the principles of mutual respect, cooperation and friendship, the principles of peaceful co-existence, and wise-constructive-transformative dialogues.

Abstract

The unresolved gender problem is caused by a less critical interpretation. This article aims to find gender relations based on the thoughts of Husein Muhammad and Nasaruddin Umar. This study used a comparative method and a qualitative approach with three formulations of the problem; First, what are the views of Husein Muhammad and Nasaruddin Umar toward women? Second, what are the thoughts of the two figures toward the verse on the creation of women, women's social roles, and polygamy? Third, how is the actualization of the character's thoughts on women in Indonesia? This study found that women are human beings who are equal and balanced with men through their rights and obligations as human beings. On the other hand, the differences between men and women are biologically non-exchangeable, but these differences are not discriminatory, but a way to partner with each other, work together and complement each other in goodness. The most striking thing in the comparison of interpretations was in the concept of understanding the verse, and both of them make a classification and contextual theory to understand the gender verses. The significance of Husein Muhammad and Nasaruddin Umar's thoughts can be seen in the results of their interpretations that are friendly to women and gender so that they can form knowledge of gender interpretation and civilization that is more precise and equal.

Abstract

Abstract: This study discusses the Manhaj bin al-S{ala>h} (kitab 'Ulu>m Al-Hadith Li Ibn al-S{ala>h}). In discussing it, the writer focused on biography of Ibn al-S{ala>h}, his teachers, the response of the scholars, students, his works, and kita>b ‘Ulu>m al-H{adith Li Ibn al-S{ala>h}. The purpose of this study was to determine Ibn al-S{ala>h, history of his life in demanding science, until he became a prominent scholar who became a model for subsequent scholars in the discipline of 'science ‘ilmu h{adith. This research conducted "qualitative" or library with the approach of examining original source kita>b namely, “kita>b ‘Ulu>m al-Hadith Li Ibn al-S{ala>h}” that researchers using the original source in discovering new theories. The results showed that “Manhaj bin al-S{ala>h} in kita>b‘ulum found; (1) kita>b ‘ulu>m al-H{adith is the best than others which written by experts of h{Adith; (2) The discussion is not structured to systematize currently; (3) kita>b to be literature for hadith disciplines. The implications is kita>b includes particulars contained in various kita>b previously and covering all branches of h{adith science. Abstract

Abstract: Violence in the name of Islam is increasingly worrying. Mass murder, kidnapping and terror have spread throughout the world, including Indonesia. One of factors that caused those conditions is human failure in modern era. They lose their vision and spirituality. They learned divinity and religious doctrines instantly. It means that they just leaned those doctrines on the surface. While, the inner meaning of thariqat and haqiqat, are never been touch. As a result, they lost the truth and closed by power lust, selfish and self-righteous. In hence, religion becomes creepy. Then to eliminate this radicalism is by studying Sufism greater in depth, in order to gain batiniah knowledge. Its knowledge leads to the center of truth. And it manifests into beautiful forms, full of harmony and brotherhood. As the result, peaceful is reached without violence in the name of Islam.

Abstract

Abstract: The study of Sirah Nabawiyyah is very important to take detailed knowledge of Muhammad’s life with all its aspects. Kelengkapan Tarikh Nabi Muhammad written by KH Moenawar Chalil is one of Indonesian Muslims’ works focused on Sirah Nabawiyyah. This library research emphasizes on Kelengkapan Tarikh Nabi Muhammad (that was first published in 1936) as its primary source. This paper purposively aims to analyse the biographical characteristic of Kelengkapan Tarikh Nabi Muhammad relating to its historical sources and explanation of historical events related to the life of the prophet Muhammad. Finally, it concludes that Moenawar Chalil successfully applied the historical method in writing the complete history of the life of the Prophet Muhammad. He used reliable historical sources, such as the Qur’an, prophetic traditions, exegetical works, and Islamic historical books. He made historical explanations based on standard historiographic rules. He paid attention to the historical questions of historiography (namely: who, what, why, where, when, and how) to explain Sirah Nabawiyyah thoroughly and then accentuated the essence of events with spirit of Islam. Furthermore, he added several chapters thematically so that the readers can understand his work deeply.الملخّص: إن دراسة السيرة النبوية مهمة جدّا لمعرفة حياة رسول الله محـمد صلى الله عليه وسلم من جميع جوانبه بالتفصيل. إن من أحد كتب السيرة النبوية هوKelengkapan Tarikh Nabi Muhammad الذي كتبه الحاج منوّر خليل وطبع لأول مرة سنة ألف وتسع مائة وستة وثلاثين. فهذا البحث المكتبي يركّز تحليله العلمي على ذلك الكتاب للكشف عن خصائص كتابة السيرة النبوية فيما يتعلق بمصادرها التاريخية وبيان الأحداث التاريخية المتعلقة بحياة محـمد صلى الله عليه وسلم. وأخيراً استنتج الباحث أن منوّر خليل قد نجح في تطبيق المنهج التاريخي في كتابة Kelengkapan Tarikh Nabi Muhammad باستخدام المصادر التاريخية الموثوقة، وهي القرآن الكريم، وأحاديث النبي الشريفة، وكتب التفسير للقرآن الكريم، وكتب السيرة النبوية. وقدم منوّر خليل تحليله التاريخي لتوضيح الأحداث التاريخية بالاعتماد على المنهج المعتبر لكتابة التاريخ، فاهتـمّ منوّر خليل بإجابة الأسئلة التاريخية المألوفة (مثل من، وماذا، ولماذا، وأين، ومتى، وكيف) لشرح السيرة النبوية بدقة، وأبرز جوهر الوقائع التاريخية المقـترنة بحياة محـمد صلى الله عليه وسلم بروح الجهاد الإسلامي. علاوة على ذلك، أضاف منوّر خليل عدة الأبواب الموضوعية حتى يتمكن قرّاء كتابه من فهم السيرة النبوية بعمق.Abstrak: Kajian Sirah Nabawiyyah sangat penting untuk memperoleh pengetahuan rinci mengenai segala aspek kehidupan Nabi Muhammad saw. Kelengkapan Tarikh Nabi Muhammad (terbit pertama tahun 1936) merupakan karya cendekiawan Muslim Indonesia, KH Moenawar Chalil, yang secara khusus membahas Sirah Nabawiyyah. Penelitian kepustakaan yang menggunakan karya itu sebagai data primer berikut ini menganalisis karakteristik historiografis Sirah Nabawiyyah berkaitan dengan sumber-sumber sejarahnya dan eksplanasinya terhadap peristiwa-peristiwa historis kehidupan Nabi Muhammad saw. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa KH Moenawar Chalil berhasil menerapkan metode historis dalam karyanya dan merujuk kepada sumber-sumber historis kredibel, yakni al-Qur’an, hadis Nabi saw, serta buku-buku tafsir dan sejarah Islam. Eksplanasi historisnya berpedoman pada prosedur historiografi sesuai metode sejarah dengan menjawab berbagai pertanyaan historiografis (yaitu siapa, apa, mengapa, dimana, kapan, dan bagaimana) untuk menjelaskan Sirah Nabawiyyah secara cermat. Ia selanjutnya memberikan intisari peristiwa-peristiwa itu dengan menggelorakan semangat perjuangan Islam dan bahkan menyajikan tema-tema tambahan yang relevan sehingga para pembaca karyanya dapat memahaminya secara mendalam.

Abstract

Abstract: Islam offers sufficiently values of justice. However, these values have not been explored adequately because most Muslim people regard Islam as synonymous with formal ritual. In the above context, this paper discusses the similarities and differences of the concept of justice according to the Qur'an, the interpreters, and philosophers. In essence, the concept of justice of the philosophers is not different from that of the Qur'an. The philosophers gave birth to the concept of justice departing from pure reason. The reason is based on the empirical world, the reality of the society. Based on the reflection of philosophers it was born the concept of justice. The concept of justice of the Qur'an is deductive while the views of the philosophers is inductive. In the Qur'an, the truth was already there in the form of God's revelation. All you need to do is to understand and apply these truths in real life. Instead, for philosophers the truth should be sought through the reflection of mind. Thus, the idea of justice can be obtained through a set of deep contemplation departing from a doubt. Islam menawarkan nilai-nilai keadilan  yang cukup memadai. Namun demikian, nilai-nilai tersebut belum digali secara memadai karena kebanyakan masyarakat Islam menganggap Islam identik dengan ritual formal saja. Dalam konteks di atas, tulisan ini membahas persamaan dan perbedaan konsep keadilan menurut al-Qur’an, mufassir, dan filosof. Pada esensinya, konsep  para filosof tidak berbeda dengan al-Qur’an. Para filosof melahirkan konsep keadilan berangkat dari  penalaran murni atau akal budi yang didasarkan pada dunia empirik, realitas pada masyarakat. Dari perenungan itulah lahir konsep keadilan. Perbedaannya adalah konsep al-Qur’an bersifat deduktif sementara pandangan para filosof bersifat induktif. Dalam al-Qur’an, kebenaran itu sudah ada berupa wahyu Tuhan. Yang perlu dilakukan adalah memahami dan menerapkan kebenaran tersebut dalam kehidupan. Sebaliknya, bagi filosof kebenaran itu belum ada, perlu dicari lewat penalaran akal budi. Dengan demikian,  ide keadilan  bisa didapatkan lewat perenungan  yang mendalam dengan berangkat dari keraguan. Keywords: keadilan, al-Quran, filosof, mufassir.
