Abstract

Bilingual Environmental Awareness (BEA) which is implemented at certain community is mostly taken place in Pesantren. This article tried to investigate the steps in implementing Bilingual Environmental Awareness (BEA) at Pesantren to enhance speaking skill. It was kind of research that used Snapshot Exploratory Case Study. The subject of this research was students and teachers of pesantren of Al Multazam Mojokerto. The result showed that (1) To implement Bilingual Environmental Awareness (BEA) at Pesantren environment should combine Teaching-Learning Activities and Language Usage. Teaching and Learning Activities includes Drilling, Explaining, Immitation, Questioning and Answering, Modeling, Making Dialogue, Practicing, Giving Feedback, and Concluding. Then (2) Language Usage (LU) includes Language Acquisition and Language Environment. In addition, (3) The combination of Teaching-Learning Activities and Language Usage which were integrated could enhance speaking skill at Pesantren environment.

Abstract

English Academic Purposes (EAP)is becoming increasingly important in various fields, including industrial engineering. This study aims to analyze the current challenges faced by students in the Industrial Engineering study program regarding English use and propose potential solutions. The analysis is conducted through questionnaires and interviews with students, focusing on their experiences and difficulties in English language learning. The challenges identified include limited exposure to English-speaking environments, lack of interactive learning resources, and inadequate support in English proficiency development. Purposes of this research is to address these challenges; several solutions are proposed. First, incorporating English language activities and projects into the Industrial Engineering curriculum. Second, providing more interactive learning resources, such as language labs, conversation partners, and online platforms, to enhance speaking and listening skills. Third, organizing extracurricular activities, such as English workshops. The findings of this study can guide educational institutions in identifying the challenges faced by students in English language learning and assist in the implementation of effective solutions. By improving English proficiency within the study program, they will be better prepared to thrive in a globalized industrial engineering environment.

Abstract

Abstract: Teaching English Speaking to the Senior High School need more effort and unique technique. Teachers can not use the same technique in teaching speaking to the adolescence and Senior High School Students. It needs different technique and instructional media to make them interested in learning English speaking. This research attempts to report what appropriate teaching technique and instructional media which are applied by an English teacher at MA Al-fatah Mojokerto. In this research, the researcher focuses on two research questions, there are what the English Speaking Teaching Technique used by the teacher at MA Al-fatah. And what media that is used by the teacher in teaching English Speaking to the eleventh grade of MA Al-Fatah. The researcher employs a qualitative descriptive study to answer those two questions which was held during August-September 2023. The result of this research is proved that Drilling Techniques is an appropriate Technique in Teaching English Speaking to the eleventh grade of MA Al-Fatah. Meanwhile, the appropriate media which is used by the teacher in teaching English Speaking to the eleventh grade is picture. In conclusion, by using drilling technique and pictures, the process of teaching English Speaking to the young learners becomes more interesting and enjoyable, so the students’ English speaking skill is improved. Abstract

English is a mandatory part of the education curriculum. However, English language learning is perceived to be less effective, prompting continued interest in additional courses, including online ones. Online class management in English courses presents both opportunities and challenges, requiring careful planning, organization, implementation, and supervision to achieve learning objectives. Field observations indicate various challenges in online english learning. Therefore, this research aims to describe the planning, implementation, and evaluation of online English learning at Bahasaku Inggris. This case study employs a qualitative descriptive approach. The result of this research reveals that lesson planning involves setting clear objectives, with participant analysis serving as a crucial source of information for planning. Lesson planning also requires the preparation of teaching materials, methods, and media such as images, videos, whiteboards, recorders, and assessment plans. Continuous evaluation is conducted through various means, including exams, assignments, and practical exercises, aiming to ensure constructive feedback and a holistic understanding of English by the students.
