Abstract

This study aims to produce a description within the meaning of tolerance in piil pesenggiri Lampung society. The scope of the study includes: 1) an overview of tolerance of Lampung society; 2) Description of the meaning of tolerance in piil pesenggiri Lampung society; 3) the value of tolerance in guidance and counseling. This research uses a qualitative approach with the descriptive method. Participants were determined by purposive sampling, among other's traditional leaders (one person), community leaders (two people), and academics (three people) engaged in research in Lampung society. The research conducted, namely: 1) researchers construct the meaning of tolerance in pill pesenggiri passenger based on theory and research results; 2) the researcher clarifies to the participants (customary figures, community leaders, and academics) to constructions made through interviews; 3) the researcher performs data analysis by data reduction; and 4) the researcher conducts an interpretation of the constructs based on upon the results of the data analysis. Based on the results of data interpretation, the resulting definition of tolerance in piil pesenggiri is the recognition of the rights of others that are different from the cultural norms of Lampung culture applied in social life in the form of appreciating the difference, open and accept the opinions of others, caring, and give freedom to others in acting.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the teaching of sorogan in the pursuit of books in Pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) with ethnic diversity. Ethnic diversity of the kyai (teacher) and the santri (student). This research explains the implementation of sorogan teaching to produce a product in santri. This research is descriptive qualitative research. In collecting data used the interview method and observation. The results of this study are that in the learning process using the Sorogan method there are problems in the adjustment of santri in taking lessons and the cultural language of the pesantren itself as a learning process of the santri in Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

The aims of this study was to reveal the work ethic values in the Bugis tribal pappaseng and the implications of work ethic values in pappaseng in career guidance. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The location of the study was conducted in Bone and Wajo District, South Sulawesi. Data collection is done through interviews with the number of respondents as many as four people consisting of two cultural people, one community leader and one academic. The results showed that Pappaseng reso, getteng, lempu, green tea idi’pa najaji, sipakainge, sipakatau, sipakalebbi, sipakainge malilu, mali siparappe, rebba sipatokkong, and siri were work ethic values in pappaseng which had implications for the development of career guidance services for student.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to describe analytically multicultural self-determination. The scope of this study includes: 1) a description of the multicultural self-determination of students formed through the educational process; 2) description of the way or style of regulation based on the high or low self-determination in the cultural domain. The method used was descriptive with crossectional survey design with a sample of first semester students at UPI Bandung using a multi stage cluster sampling technique. Power collection tools in the form of questionnaires, guidelines for observation and interviews. The results of the student research were at the level of identified regulation and the connectivity aspect was the lowest in all aspects of self-determination.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the profile of cultural humility in the students. The scope of this study includes the positive characteristic characteristics, and negative characteristic reflecting superiority and making assumptions. The results of the study indicate that the profile of cultural humility in each student can not be separated from activities or activities in everyday life. This shows that cultural humility is an ability that is not automatically owned by individuals. A special development program is required for cultural humility to be mastered well by potential counselors. One of these is the personal humility development guidance program. Through the guidance program is expected to grow cultural humility which eventually can be obtained endpoint of cultural humility in the form of the character of flexibility or humility of the individual when interacting with others.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to find out the profile of student career adaptability based on culture where culture influences individual personality. Culture contributes to differences in character between individuals with each other. This research was conducted at IAIN Sheikh Nurjati Cirebon, where students are very heterogeneous which is very likely to influence the adaptability of his career. In this study focused on how the career adaptability of students with different backgrounds, namely students from ethnic Sundanese and students from ethnic Javanese. The research was conducted with quantitative methods of analytic survey type, namely to capture the career adaptability of students with their type of research using Exploratory Type. The results showed that the level of career adaptability of students from Java was higher compared to students from Sundanese with detailed scores: Student career adaptability from Java in the high category was 27 people (54%), moderate category was 21 people (42 %) and in the low category as many as 2 people (4%). While the career adaptability of students from the Sundanese is in the high category as many as 16 people (32%), the moderate category is 31 people (62%), and in the low category there are 3 people (6%).

Abstract

This study is an attempt to describe the cultural factors in marital readiness. Marital readiness is an important point in creating happiness in domestic life. This research tries to reveal the marital readiness of student based on cultural background. The study was conducted by using the scale of marital readiness instrument, on 57 students with Minangkabau cultural background and Malay culture with data analysis using one way Anova. The results of the analysis illustrate that there are significant differences in marital readiness between students with Minangkabau cultural background and Malay culture. Where minangkabau superior to Malay culture. So that the need for training or intervention to be able to develop the marital readiness.
