Abstract

The study of the development of discipline character took place in Taruna Nusantara Senior High School (SMA Taruna Nusantara). It was aimed at knowing what, how and why the discipline character development was conducted in SMA Taruna Nusantara. Moreover, the method used was qualitative by utilizing interview, observation and document analysis as the research instruments. Once the data collected by the instruments and furtherly analyzed, it was found that the character development conducted in SMA Taruna Nusantara covered tiered stages. The first stage was instillation. In this stage, the values of courtesy were instilled in students to become their habit. The values were realized in the way the students formed a line and gave respect to elder by raising hand. The second stage was growth stage. It was realized in any guidance given to students during their activities. The third stage was development stage. In this stage, students were given tasks such as tasks given to students' council (OSIS), class representatives, school cooperative, the committees of national days commemoration. The last stage was consolidation. This stage dealt with the responsibility of students to do any activities which were directly associated with society life. Lastly, such behavior habituation processes in social engineering are done continuously and consistently by all citizens of SMA Taruna Nusantara.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of self-instruction and reframing group counselling techniques to improve students' self-confidence. Those techniques were done twice in each group counselling service. To cover up the implementation of the techniques, this study used randomized pretest-posttest comparison group design involving 14 students having low self-confidence chosen from 99 students by using purposive sampling technique. Once the data collection and data analysis were done, this study found that both self-instruction and reframing group counselling techniques have the same effectiveness in improving the self-confidence of the tenth grade students of Online Business and Marketing Department of State Vocational High School (SMK Negeri) 4 Jember. At last, the discussion of this paper is focused on examining the possibilities of the implementation of self-instruction and reframing group counselling techniques in SMK Negeri 4 Jember

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of reality therapy group counseling to improve the self-esteem of State Islamic High School (MAN) Semarang City students. To purse such objective, this study used experimental method with Non-equivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Meanwhile, there were sixteen students involved as the subjects of the study with the focus on their self-esteem (8 students joined experimental group and 8 other joined control group). Once their data were collected and analyzed by using independent sample t-test, it showed that reality therapy group counseling was effective to improve students' self-esteem (t(14) = 8,01, p < 0,01). For more, the discussion of the results of this study was directed to identify the implications of the application of reality therapy group counseling in improving students' self-esteem.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the impact of self-instruction group counseling technique on students' academic procrastination behavior. To achieve such objective, one-group pretest - posttest design was used in this study by involving 8 students as participants. The results of paired t-test showed that the students' academic procrastination level decreased higher in the posttest measurement (71.39%) than pretest (80.21%, t = 14.982, p < 0.01). Moreover, this study further discussed the possibility of applying self-instruction in overcoming students' academic procrastination behavior problem at State Junior High School (SMP Negeri) 11 Surakarta.

Abstract

This research aims to improve students' career understanding through career information service with Mind Mapping technique. The experimental method used pre-test post-test control group design, involving 2 classes as control group and experimental group. The results of this study indicate that students who obtain career information services with mind mapping techniques have increased understanding of career higher than students who do not get information carier information with mind mapping techniques.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of group counseling using modeling techniques to improve self-efficacy decision making of study continuation in senior high school students. The research method of present study was experimental design, particular by Randomized Pretest-Postest Comparison Group design, and involving 18 students as participants who selected random assignment from students of class XII SMA Al-Azhar Menganti Gresik. The result of analysis using One way ANOVA showed that group counseling  using modeling techniques effective to improve self-efficacy decision making of  study continuation in students (F(2,24) = 69.016; p < 0.01). The results of this study indicate that students who received group counseling services with combined techniques experienced improved self-efficacy of advanced study decision making higher than students who received group counseling services with live modeling techniques.

Abstract

The aim of the study is to the test the effectiveness of group counseling by using self instruction and thought stopping techniques to improve self esteem of victim bullying students in the class VII of MTs Al Hikmah Proto Kedungwuni Pekalongan. The research method was experiment with randomized pretest-posttest control group design by involving 21 subjects purposively. The results showed that self instruction and thought stopping techniques were effective to improve self esteem of victim bullying students with different levels of group counseling effectiveness of self instruction technique was higher than thought stopping technique. Group counseling by using self instruction and thought stopping technique are effective to improve the self esteem of victim bullying students of MTs Al Hikmah Proto Kedungwuni Pekalongan

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of deep breathing and progressive muscle relaxation training (PMRT) techniques for pre-natal pregnant women's anxiety at Puskesmas 9 November Banjarmasin. The research method used repetead measure experiment design and the research design used was pretest and multiple posttest design. The research population is 99 and 36 samples are determined by using purposive sampling technique. Instruments used scale The Perinatal Anxiety Screening Scale (PASS). Data analysis technique used data analysis method: descriptive analysis, normality test, sphericity test, and parametric statistic with One Repeated Measure One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) test. The results showed deep breathing technique and progressive muscle relaxation training technique (PMRT) effective to reduce the anxiety of pregnant mother pre-delivery at Puskesmas 9 November Banjarmasin. Judging from the difference of effectiveness level, progressive muscle relaxation training (PMRT) technique is more effective than deep breathing technique. This study provides clarification of treatment of anxiety problems of pregnant women pre-delivery with deep breathing techniques and techniques progressive muscle relaxation training (PMRT).

Abstract

This study aims to obtain empirical data and ensure the significance between parental attachment and analyze self efficacy as a mediation variable on career maturity. The research design used is correlational research design with a sample of 323 students selected by using sample random sampling technique. Data collection using the Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment (IPPA) instruments, Career Decision Self Effiacy Scale-Short Form (CDSE-SF), and Career Maturity Scale. The mediator analysis technique uses corrected bootstrap method (N = 5000) with 95% confidential interval in PROCESS software. The results showed that Parental attachment through self efficacy has an influence on career maturity. The conclusion is that parental attachment has a significant indirect effect on career maturity

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy group counseling using cognitive restructuring techniques and assertive skills training to improve student assertive behavior. The research method used was experimental, design Pretest-Posttest Randomized Comparison Group Design, involving research subjects were 21 students selected by purposive sampling of class X SMK Ibu Kartini Semarang. The results of analysis by using One way ANOVA showed that group counseling using cognitive restructuring techniques and techniques of assertive skills training is effective in improving student assertive behavior (F = 78.141; p < 0.01). The results of this study showed that students who received counseling services group uses a combination of techniques cognitive restructuring techniques assertive skills training is more effective than counseling group that only received one of the counseling service engineering group cognitive restructuring or by using assertive skills training to improve assertive behavior of students.
