Abstract

Sugarcane Streak Mosaic is an important disease in sugarcane caused by Sugarcane streak mosaic virus (SCSMV). SCSMV attack intensity at the sample location sugarcane crop may reach 62%. The high intensity of the attack on the planting of sugar cane SCSMV make the virus should receive serious attention in order not widespread dissemination. One way to control the spread of the virus is the rapid detection. The rapid and precise mass detection to detect symptoms caused by the virus is by serologic testing. This study aims to produce polyclonal antiserum that can be used to detect SCSMV in sugarcane. Pure virus was analyzed using a spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 260 and 280 nm, a purity virus was 0.997. Pure virus particles injected into rabbits subcutaneously 3 times. Intake of rabbit blood serum performed 5 times and its IgG levels were measured by using a spectrophotometer nanodrop. The resulting antiserum is able to detect the presence of particles SCSMV on leaf tissue of sugarcane with the indication of the color change to yellow in wells ELISA Plate. Results of the process of reading absorbance at a wavelength of 405 nm by using ELISA reader machine showed a positive reaction because it shows the absorbance value is 3x greater than the negative control and the ratio between the sample is infected and a healthy sample or buffer (S/H Ratio)>2. Thus antiserum produced can be used as a detector SCSMV.

Abstract

Harvest and post-harvest activities include harvesting, processing (curing) and marketing of tobacco. Bojonegoro area recorded as a centre production of Virginia tobacco from the United States since 1927 or 88 years ago. The colonial government intends to self-sufficiency in raw materials krosok fc (flue-cured) for white cigarette factory which has been established in 1917 in Semarang. The colonial government serious enough to handle the tobacco Virginia Bojonegoro between preparing the development of the tobacco regulation, establish experimental gardens, form a control system of production, harvesting, processing and marketing. Quality control system is well-organized, according to the provisions IHT (Tobacco Industry) as well as the balance of demand and supply.Tobacco development is closely linked to the development of production systems, harvesting, processing and marketing. Harvest and post-harvest management should also be included in the system. Quality and manner of presentation (grade, SNI, packaging, etc.) quality, price formation and others should be in the system. At present time, consumers, producers, and governments are not in the system but have their have own strategy, so the harvest and post-harvest management becomes inefficient

Abstract

Fisheries and lovebirdcommodity, and cosmetics causing mealworm become popular to find and having purpose as source cosmetics mixing and source of feed. Because of many source of feed in market, people or researcher should pay attention on nutrition need of each animal, energy and protein become principal references for production increasing. This research was done to know the influence of the using gross energy (GE) and crude protein (CP) combination and also looking for the best combinationthat giving good result on feed consumption and body weight gain of mealworm. This research used Factorial experiment in Completetely Randomized Design with 9 treatments were G1P1 (GE 4000 kkal/kg , CP 10%), G1P2 (GE 4000 kkal/kg , CP 12%), G1P3 (GE 4000 kkal/kg , CP 14%), G2P1 (GE 4500 kkal/kg , CP 10%), G2P2 (GE 4500 kkal/kg , CP 12%), G2P3 (GE 4500 kkal/kg, CP 14%), G3P1(GE 5000 kkal/kg,CP 10%) G3P2 (GE 5000 kkal/kg,CP 12%), G3P3 (GE 5000 kkal/kg,CP 14%).From the research can be concluded that the using of feed gross energy and crude protein combination doesn’t give significant effect e on feed consumption, body weight gain, feed convertion/FCR, and body length. 12% and 14% protein combination with 4500 and 5000 kkal/kg gross energy cousing highes mortality on mealworm live. It is suggested to use feed with maximum nutrition content 4500 kkal/kg GE and 12% protein for getting feed efficiency and looking for another source for changing oil as energy source.

Abstract

Sesame seed production in rice field one of possible factor is low that needs to be improved. Planting arrangement is expected to increase sesame production. The experiment was conducted in Nganjuk, East Java in April to November 2014. Split Plot Design was used and 3 times replication. The main plot consists two sesame varieties (Winas-1 and Winas-2). Subplot consisted of six plant arrangements, (1) a single row of 50 cm x 25 cm, (2) a single row of 60 cm x 25 cm, (3) double row 40/80 cm x 25 cm, (4) double row 50/80 cm x 25 cm, (5) double row 40/100 cm x 25 cm and (6) double row 50/100 cm x 25 cm. The results showed that the growth, yield components and seed production per hectare of sesame were affected by varieties and plant arrangement. Winas-1 produced a specific leaf weight, leaf area index, leaf relative water content and the number of capsules per plant was higher than Winas-2. Number of branches per plant, weight of 1000 seeds and light interception within and below of shoot were produced Winas-1 lower than Winas-2. Seed production both varieties did not differ. The double row planting arrangement 50/100 cm x 25 cm produced the growth, yield components and seed production per hectare highest and followed by a double row planting arrangement 40/100 cm x 25 cm

Abstract

Pomacea canaliculata Lamarckis a land water snail, knowing as gold snail, that famously knowed as pestin the rice plant since 10 day age after transplanted. Harvest loss because this animal decreasing ricemild (gabah) range 16-40%. Arabian chicken (Gallus turcicus) basicly one ofnative chicken (buras) that already adapted it could be layed280 eggs and people consider that Arabian chicken egg is native chicken egg. The research was done to determine the precentage of gold snail powder (as alternative feed) that would give the best feed consumption andegg production quality. Field research used Completely Randomized Design replication with substitution of control feed with gold snail powder including P0 (basic/control feed without gold snail powder), P1 (97.5% control feed + 2.5% gold snail powder), P2 (95% control feed + 5% gold snail powder), P3 (92.5% control feed + 7.5% gold snail powder), and P4 (90% control feed + 10% gold snail powder), each treatments was repeatedly 5 times and if there were significant effect it would continued by Least Significant Different. The research showed that the using of gold snail powder doesn’t gives significant effect on feed consumption and FCR (feed convertion ratio). More higher of gold snail powder substitution couse the colour of egg yolk become tough, and also the egg heavy, egg diameter, and eggshell thickness become hight, but more highergold snail powdercousing the decreasing of egg yolk fat.10%.Gold snail powdersubstitution show the the best result on egg yolk colour, egg yolk fat, and higher eggsheel. It is suggested continued research usinggold snail powder more than 10% in feed formulation but giving attention on protein and energy balancing, and mineral content not decrease egg production.
