Abstract

The purpose of this research was to find out how the effect of vegetable waste on the quality of carcasses and non-carcasses of broiler chickens. The research used a Complete Randomized Design (RAL) with five treatments and five tests. P0 (control of feed without vegetable waste), P1 (use of 5% vegetable waste in 100% of feed formulations), P2 (use of 10% of vegetable waste in 100% of feed formulations), P3 (use of 15% of vegetable waste in 100% of feed formulations), and P4 (use of 20% of vegetable waste in 100% of feed formulations) are the difference in the percentage of vegetable waste used in the study. The parameters observed the quality of carcasses and non-carcasses of broiler chickens. The results showed that the use of vegetable waste in broiler chicken feed did not have a significant effect on non-carcass weight but had a real impact on carcass weight. The results showed that the variable weight of broiler carcasses, especially treatment with 15% vegetable waste formulations, gave the best results

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the response of growth and yield of long bean plants to the application of organic goat manure fertilizer. The experiment used a randomized block design consisting of 4 treatments such as K0 = No fertilizer (control), K1 = 2 kg/goat manure plot, K2 = 3 kg/goat manure plot, and K3=6 kg/goat manure plot. The treatment was repeated three times. Each experimental plot contained 25 plants. Five plants from each plot were selected as samples. The results showed that the treatment with a dose of 7 kg/plot produced the highest long bean yields of 13.53 kg/plot and 8.22 t/ha, respectively. A fertilizer dose of 7 kg/plot is the recommended dose for the farmer when planting long beans.

Abstract

This research aimed to estimate the magnitude of the flood discharge value in the Sembakung River using the Nakayasu Method and SCS (Soil Conservation Services) as a determination of water level. This study was located in the upstream Sembakung Watershed and divided into two sub-watersheds such as Labang 1 and Labang 2. The Calculation of flood discharge using the Nakayasu and SCS method was calibrated with the results of hydrometric measurements. Based on the results of hydrometric measurements, floods that often occur in the Labang Sub-watershed are at an altitude of +117 - +118 with a large discharge ranging from 633 - 828 m3 / sec. The maximum flood in the Labang sub-watershed was at an altitude of +120, with a discharge of 1,271 m3 / sec. The calculation result of the SCS method is 1,280 m3 / sec and the Nakayasu method is 3,310 m3 / sec. The closest measurement result is the SCS method. River profile calculation using HEC-RAS software, with flood discharge at Labang 1 location and downstream boundary in the form of flood discharge at Labang 2 location. The results of HEC-RAS modeling using flood discharge with a return period of 25 years in the Labang 1 Sub-DAS obtained a water level elevation of +120.89. While the results of modeling with flood discharge with a return period of 50 years are at an altitude of +122.71.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of coconut water and gibberellins on the germination of rattan seeds. The research design used was a completely randomized design with a factorial pattern consisting of 2 factors with 5 repetitions. The first factor (A) is coconut water consisting of control without coconut water 0% (A0), coconut water 25% (A1), coconut water 50% (A2), coconut water 75% (A3), and coconut water 100%(A4 ). The second factor is the concentration of gibberellins (GA3) consisting of control without gibberellins 0 ppm, 30 ppm (B1), 60 ppm (B2), and 90 ppm (B3). The results showed that coconut water and gibberellins had a significant effect on the percentage of germination, seedling height, number of roots, root length, and wet weight of rattan plants. A treatment combination of 75% coconut water and 90 ppm GA3 was the best treatment for the parameters of germination percentage (92,94%), seedling height (8,05cm), number of roots (4,06), root length (10,75cm), and wet weight rattan (5,04 grams).

Abstract

This study aimed to assess the impact of dietary teak leaf powder on the egg color and productivity of laying hens. A total of 240 30-week-old laying hens were divided into six treatments, each of which had four replications (10 birds each). The treatments used control were AV (0.05% antibiotic virginiamycin) and (no feed additive), P1: 0.4% teak leaves powder, P2: 0.8% teak leaves powder, P3: 1.2% teak leaves powder, and P4: 1.6% teak leaves powder. The result indicated that the treatments had a highly significant (P0.01) impact on hen day productivity (HDP), egg mass, and feed conversion ratio (FCR) but had no effect (P0.05) on feed intake, egg weight, or yolk color. When AV was used instead of the control, HDP, egg mass, and FCR improved (P0.01). The treatment P2, P3, and P4 had a better HDP, egg mass, and FCR (P0.01) than the control. Laying hens fed AV had a higher HDP (P0.01) than those fed teak leaves powder (P1, P2, P3, and P4), however, the use of P3 and P4 had equal results as AV in terms of egg mass and FCR. The teak leaves powder at the level of 1.2% is effective in substituting commercial antibiotics.

Abstract

Cultured plants will adapt to new environmental conditions at the acclimatization stage. Changes that occur can observed through changes in morphological and anatomical structures.  The increase in the number of cells and the size of plant organs illustrates the process of changing the anatomical structure of plants. It is necessary to optimize the concentration of biostimulant given and see its effect on plant growth and anatomical structure, to explain the mechanism of action of biostimulants. The research aimed to determine the concentration of biostimulant cengkodok leaf extract on black orchid plants. The study used a completely randomized design consisting of 8 treatment levels of cengkodok leaf extract biostimulant concentration (0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70 mg/L).  The results showed that the concentration of cengkodok leaf extract 20 mg/L was the best concentration for the parameters of the number of leaves and the number of roots of black orchid planlets, respectively 2.5 leaves and 7.5 roots. The application of cengkodok leaf extract affects the anatomical structure characteristics of black orchids, including an increase in the thickness of leaf mesophyll tissue, stem cortex tissue, and roots.

Abstract

The research aims to obtain the right type and dose of Liquid Organic Fertilizer to obtain optimal growth and yields of Pagoda mustard plants. The study used a factorial Completely Randomized Design, namely two kinds of Liquid Organic Fertilizer (cow urine and rabbit urine) and the dosage consisted of 4 levels (0, 600, 1.200,1.800 ml) so that there were 8 treatment combinations (P1D0, P1D1, P1D2, P1D3, P2D0, P2D1, P2D2, P2D3) and repeated 4 times. Observations include parameters: plant height, number of leaves, length, and width of leaves, diameter of the hood, wet weight of the plant, and dry weight. The research results showed that the type and dose of LiquidOrganic Fertilizer interacted with each other to support the growth of pagoda mustard greens, 1,200 ml/l cow urine liquid organic fertilizer produced the best growth. Both POC cow urine and rabbit urine produce insignificant fresh plant weight, and a POC dose of 1,200 - 1,800 ml/l was able to produce the best plant results.
