Abstract

Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) is knowledge of the material and how to teach it. The teacher uses the textbook as a reference when implementing the learning process. Therefore, the teacher's book must conform to the PCK component. The purpose of this study was to study the percentage of PCK components in the teacher's book. The research method used in this research is descriptive method with the subject of research by selecting chapters that enter the organ system, namely the human digestive system, human blood circulation system, human respiratory system and human excretion system. Based on the results of research that has been analyzed shows the emergence of PCK components in the teacher's book related to the 24.8% Natural Science meeting, the knowledge of the Natural Sciences curriculum 46.3%, the knowledge of 53.6% student understanding and the knowledge of the 54% Natural Science learning strategies.

Abstract

Naturalist intelligence is a person's ability to use, understand and classify flora, fauna and nature, along with their interactions, which are then used in solving environmental problems. Naturalist intelligence is one of the predictors relating to responsibility environmental behavior which is one of the efforts to solve environmental problems. This study aims to analyze the relationship between naturalist intelligence and the responsibility environmental behavior of students of SMP Negeri 51 Bandung. The number of respondents consisted of 220 students. The method used in this study is quantitative research with a correlational method. Naturalist intelligence data collection and responsibility environmental behavior using non-test instruments. Analysis of research data using a regression model test (α = 0.05) and correlation coefficient test with Pearson Product Moment test (α = 0.05). The results of the analysis show that there was a positive relationship between naturalist intelligence and responsibility environmental behavior students'.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to produce a valid, practical and effective module that can facilitate students to integrate the biological learning material with related verses in Al Quran. This was a development research (R&D) which referred to 4 D development model with four stages, namely; define, design, develop, and disseminate. The research instruments used were validation sheets, student response questionnaires and learning outcomes tests in the form of 20 multiple choice questions. The data analysis technique used was validity data analysis, practicality data analysis, and effective data analysis. Based on the results of the assessment of validator, the module was met with valid category with an average validity of 3.48. This indicates that the module can be applied in learning. Practical level of the module was in positive category with average practicality was 3.65. This indicates that the module can be used by the students easily. The effectiveness of the module was very effective with a percentage of completeness was 100%.

Abstract

This research was a quantitative descriptive study that aimed to find out the quality of questions made by teachers of SMA Negeri 10 Gowa in terms of the level of difficulty, discrimination item, and to determine the ability of these questions to measure the high-level thinking students in SMA Negeri 10 Gowa. The sample in this study was 36 students. Data collection technique was documentation, by collecting all daily questions, answer keys, and the marks of student answers of Biology class XI of SMA Negeri 10 Gowa. The instrument used in this study was a review of the Higher Order Thinking (HOTS) adapted from a module of Making HOTS Questions published by the Education and Culture Office. The data of this study were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. Based on the results of the quantitative analysis, the level of difficulty of the question description used in daily tests was quite good, while questions for multiple-choice categorized as good. The quality of discrimination items for both essays and multiple-choice questions categorized as poor. The results of a qualitative analysis found that there were no questions categorized as HOTS, but all of these questions had very good in use and construction of language.

Abstract

This study aimed to know the metacognitive abilities of junior high school students in Kota Sukabumi. Metacognitive abilities are the students' ability to plan, monitor, and evaluate the students' learning process. In learning science, metacognitive skills are needed such as planning, information organizing, and monitoring the understanding of learning. The research type was descriptive with a purposive sampling technique. This research was done at Junior High School of 13 Sukabumi of 2019-2020 academic year. The instruments were measured by using the Metacognitive Awareness Inventory (MAI). The data categorized into four criteria; very good, good, enough, poor, and very poor. The study shows that the criteria for the abilities of the students are 55% for poor criteria, 39% for enough criteria, and 6% (as many as 2 people) for good criteria. The conclusion of the data is metacognitive abilities of the students are still lacking, suggesting the need for improvement in the learning process both in the assessment and learning model.

Abstract

The problem-solving ability of students at a senior high school (SMA/MA) level is the competencies that must be possessed at school and outside school. This study aimed to look at the profile of the problem-solving ability of class XI students’ in the Senior High School of Sukabumi. The method used was a quantitative descriptive method. The subjects of this study were 36 students of class XI in the Senior High School of Sukabumi. The sampling technique used was a purposive sampling technique. Environmental change material is a biology subject in class X. It has been stated in the curriculum of 2013 that gives guidance to students to be able to solve the problem in every biology subject materials. The instrument used was in the form of an essay of 10 questions with the reliability of 0,82, deviation standard of 7,78, and correlation of 0,69. These questions using 5 indicators of problem-solving ability. The results of this study have the following percentage: formulating the problem was 68.75%, developing temporary answers was 68, 4%, testing the interim answers was 77.43%, concluding was 67.01%, and applying conclusions was 51.04%. The results of the study showed that the problem-solving abilities of class XI students of Sukabumi High School in enough category with an average percentage of 66.52%. It can be concluded that students' problem-solving abilities still need to be improved. The teachers should improve the learning model, media, and learning environment as it can enhance student’s problem-solving ability. Further research is very needed to be done to add insight knowledge.
