Abstract

PT. Sumbar Calcium Pratama is a company engaged in open pit mining and processing of l imestone in Jorong Ateh Loban, Nagari Halaban, Lareh Sago Halaban District, Fifty City District, West Sumatra Province. In supporting its production, PT. West Sumatra Calcium Pratama requires an effective road access design that complies with standards so as not to hinder production activities. From the actual data in the field, it was found that the road segments had non-ideal straight road widths, namely segments 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 9, while the ideal straight road width after calculations was 7 meters, on the bend road width t here were four non-ideal road segments, where the ideal road bend width is 10.5 meters. Then there is a road grade that is > 10% to be precise in segment 8 (12.25%) which of course this is not in accordance with t he applicable provisions according to AASHTO 1994. Because this will certainly affect the total rimpull, speed, circulation time, and productivity of the tool transport. From the calculation results, the actual productivity value of the conveyance is 1.47 tons/hour, while the planned productivity of the conveyance with a hauling distance of about 2.8 km is 2.08 tons/hour. After the theoretical calculations were carried out with the road conditions having been repaired, the productivity of the transportation equipment was 2.18 t ons/hour, which means that after the road was repaired theoretically the productivity reached even more t han the plan. While the production target in February was 2,000 tons/month, with actual production of 1,416 tons/month. After doing theoretical calculations, it was found that production was 2,100 tons/month, which means that it exceeded the production target. The conclusion of this study is that road conditions will affect the total rimpull, the total rimpull will affect the speed, then the speed will affect the cycle time, and t his cycle time will affect the productivity of the conveyance.

Abstract

Mine engineers can use simulation software such as VentSim and Kazemaru to optimize airflow within the mine and create effective ventilation systems. Comparative analysis between the two software can provide important information about the strengths and weaknesses of each software when optimizing their underground mine ventilation systems. Reliability, computing speed, ease of use, modeling capabilities, accuracy of simulation results, and technical support are some of the factors one might look at in a comparison between VentSim and Kazemaru. In addition, this analysis may include comparison of features, user interface, ease of use, accuracy of simulation results, and time required to perform simulations. Analysis of the data used is quantitative, based on the theory of calculation. The result is quantitative. The focus of the research is the ventilation system used in the PT Dempo Maju Cemerlang mine pit. Mine pit PT. Dempo Maju Cemerlang requires 28.99 m3/s of total air, but based on the conditions at the time the measurements were made, the required amount of air has not been met. The results of calculating the air quantity of the ventilation system used in PT. Dempo Maju Cemerlang is only 24.97 m3/s. Every mining pit of PT. Dempo Maju Cemerlang has a temperature of 22.5–24.1 °C. Air humidity ranges between 88% and 93%. In the simulations performed with ventsim and kazemaru software, Ventsim excels in several features, including dust distribution, visualization and graphing, ventilation efficiency analysis, financial simulations, and an attractive user interface. Keywords:  Air Demand, Software, Ventilation System

Abstract

PT. Andalan Artha Primanusa Jobsite PT. Budi Gema Gempita is a coal mining company operating in East Merapi District, Lahat Regency, South Sumatra. The mining system uses an open pit mining system with the Open Pit Mining method. In carrying out mining operations, there is a deviation from the overburden production results from the data recorded by the checkers in the form of truck count monitoring data and measurement results data from surveys in the form of joint survey data. After calculating the overburden volume, the overburden volume deviation was obtained based on survey data and truck count monitoring data at the May 2022 EOM of 17,053.99 bcm with a percentage value of 4.52% and in June 2022 there was a deviation of 21,368.58 bcm with a percentage value of 6.58%. From these results it can be seen that the deviation value obtained exceeds the standard set by the company, namely with a percentage of ± 3%. Because the results of the deviation exceed the standard set, a picking test of the load of the conveyance is carried out. Based on the results of the picking test, there is a difference in the volume of the Joint Survey data with the Truck Count Monitoring data of 5,920.58 bcm with a percentage of 1.82%. This is due to the presence of sticky overburden material on the vessel dump truck or articulated dump truck and not dredging, so that the load on the vessel is not optimal. Meanwhile, by looking at the survey measurement conditions, there are areas that have not been measured because they are still submerged in water.

Abstract

This study focuses on the slope of the disposal pit at Satellite PT Barasentosa Lestari, which experienced a landslide in March 2023. The landslide is a type of arc landslide and involves fractures and fill material such as mud. Therefore, a technical study was required, including a slope stability analysis of the design of the disposal area. The aim is to establish a basis for the establishment of the disposal area, prevent landslides, and optimize its capacity. This study aims to identify the slope stability of the disposal area, update the material properties of the area, provide slope design recommendations, and evaluate the slope safety factor at the study site. Bishop's method was used in this study. The results showed some important points. The slope geometry before the landslide had a total height of 82.152 meters, a slope inclination angle of 6°, and a slope length of 851.338 meters. The material properties of the existing wastedump include a specific gravity of 19 KN/m³, a cohesion of 45 KN/m², and an inner shear angle of 10°. The safety factor before the landslide with these parameters was 1.036. After re-analysis, the factor of safety value became 0.967 with the new material properties: specific gravity 19 KN/m³, cohesion 35 KN/m², and inner shear angle 10°. Slope geometry recommendations using Bishop's method resulted in a factor of safety of 1.394 with a single slope height of 10 meters and a slope angle of 35°. The width of the slope varied from RL -10 to RL 60, with lengths of 100m, 100m, 100m, 70m, 70m, 70m, 100m, and 262m respectively. Keywords: Kestabilan Lereng, Metode Bishop, Wastedump Existing, Faktor Keamanan, Analisis Balik.

Abstract

Blasting is the process of breaking up rock (overburden) using explosives. The size of the blasted rock is called fragmentation. The size of the blasted rock fragmentation has an important influence on the next process (excavation and transport). Blasting at PT Bhumi Rantau Energi (BRE) produced 30.925% boulders so that the digging time required was 12.33 seconds which resulted in a digging rate of only 510 BCM/hour. This is still far from PT BRE's target of boulder size <20%, digging time of 11 seconds and digging rate of 550 BCM/hour. Therefore, a method is needed to predict the fragmentation size resulting from the blasting geometry and site conditions. The Kuz-ram method is a commonly used method to predict fragmentation size, but it only considers a few factors of rock fragmentation formation. The Rock Engineering System (RES) model has more parameters to predict fragmentation size than the Kuz-ram method. Therefore, the RES model with 14 parameter* was used in this study to predict the fragmentation size of blasted rock. The analysis results stated that the RES model has an R2 value of 0.43, which means that there is a moderate relationship between the actual fragmentation and the prediction of the RES model. In addition, the evaluation result found that this model only has an RMSE value of 9.37, which means that the probability of error is small, making it suitable for predicting the fragmentation size.Keyword: Blasting, Fragmentation, Rock Engineering System

Abstract

There are cracks and flaws in the wood that do not match the strength of the surrounding rock. There is a spacing between supports that exceeds the SOP of 2.5 m-2.8 m, which violates the company’s SOP of 1 m-1,5 m. The company does not have a buffer design appropriate for the rock load. In this study, the authors used quantitative research methodology. Quantitative research is research by obtaining data in the form of number or summarized qualitative data (Sugiyono, 2018:8). In conducting this research, there are primary data obtained directly from the field, namely the geometry of the opening hole, the dimensions of the wood support the condition of the discontinuous plane, the point load index value of the rock, the compressive strength value of the wood. A. the average value of saturated content weight of coal is 1.330 gr/cm3 and siltstone has a saturated content weight of 2.506 gr/cm3. B. the average value of point load index of coal is 0.246 MPa and siltstone has an average point load index of 0.837 gr/cm3. C. the results of converting PLI values to UCS, coa; has an average UCS value of 2,90MPa and siltstone has an average UCS value of 9.890 MPa. Based on the weighting of rock mass classes using the RMR system method, the results show that the right and left wall rock mass class, which is coal, has a value of 56 and includes class III rocks, and siltstone rocks are included in class II rocks as roofs. The standing time value of the roof opening hole section is 7,000 hours or for 291.67 days and the span with the provision of 4 meters of progress based on the specifiend RMR. From the wood specific gravity test, the average value of wood specific gravity is 0.51, which indicates that the wood used by CV. Bara Mitre Kencana is in class III. And for the bending strength value of wood of 623.75 kg/cm3. From the above calculations, the FK cap value is obtained after evaluating the distance between the supports. From the results of the above analysis, the FK value ≥1.5 is obtained with a support distance of 1.38 m.Keywords:  Evaluation, Geometry, Faulting, Rock Weighting, Opening Geometry
