Abstract

The inventory policy problem is a problem in the inventory system related to how to ensure that each usage demand can be met at minimal cost. In the healthcare industry, it is imperative that the procurement and use of stock is not only cost-effective, but also that the required stock is always available. Discrepancies between total inventory and usage can lead to damage to BMHP inventory as the items have expiry dates, as well as excess total inventory costs. The problem of total inventory costs exceeding the budget occurs because overstock is 83% of the total need, overstock is caused by an excessive number of drug orders purchased. The purpose of this study is to reduce the total cost of inventory by considering expiry costs, inspection cost, shortage cost, order cost, holding cost using the EOQ method. The first stage in this study is to calculate the optimal order quantity value, then find the expected number of drug expirations. These results will be used to calculate the total inventory cost of five types of medical materials. for the inspection cost value, if the number of expired medical materials is above 20, the inspection cost value is not equal to zero. The calculation results found that the total inventory cost was Rp. 162,904,965, this cost is less than the actual cost of Rp. 185,843,346.00 with a difference of 12%.

Abstract

A microfinance institute (LKM/ Lembaga Keuangan Mikro) is a company that focuses in providing funds to small, early-stage, and emerging firms or small medium enterprises. A company that is engaged in financial sector and works under the surveillance of OJK/ FSA (Financial Service Authority) always has some questions whether this company really needs to implement IT Governance best practices or to what extent it does. The research in PT Sarana Jabar Ventura as one of the microfinance institutes using COBIT 5 framework for the domain of EDM (Evaluate-Direct-Monitor) & APO (Align-Plan-Organize) has shown that the existing practice is not adequate enough to align the business to IT and to manage its risk optimally so the IT solution will be beneficial for the business. Therefore, it is necessary to design the IT governance practice here, based on the seven enablers of COBIT 5 which are categorized into 3 aspects: process, people, and technology. The results of this research are design recommendations as follows: IT policy, procedures, organization structure, job description and the supporting tools and technology. It is expected that the company will implement the results in the near future. Keywords—COBIT 5, IT governance, microfinance institution

Abstract

The textile industry is one of industries that has an important role in the national economy. PT Buana Intan Gemilang (BIG) is one of textile industry in Indonesia which uses Weaving machine to produce motif and sajadah fabrics. The purpose of this research is to analyze the reliability of Weaving M251 machine that has the most damage in 2014. To avoid losses due to machine damage, the reliability, availability and maintainability of the machine need to be improved by using Reliability, Availability & Maintainability (RAM) Analysis method. In addition, the total cost caused by RAM problems can be calculated by using Cost of Unreliability (COUR) method. Based on the evaluation using Reliability Block Diagram (RBD) modeling, it is found that the critical subsystem reliability = 44.36% for 144 working hours and the total repair time that the critical subsystem needs to perform in acceptable operational condition , at least in 1 to 70 hours. There are two different forms of availability that have been calculated, therefore inherent availability = 95,546% which is used as leading indicator, and operational availability = 85,572% which used as lagging indicator. as it is compared, lagging indicator does not meet the performance of leading indicator. The total of unreliability cost when the machine is in active repair time = 39,580,689.02 IDR and within downtime = 135,588,452.13 IDR. Keywords—Cost of Unreliability (COUR), Lagging Indicator, Leading Indicator, Reliability, Availability & Maintainability (RAM) Analysis.

Abstract

XYZ Company is a distributor focused on distributing floor and wall ceramic tiles. XYZ Company has its own warehouse for storing finished goods with Last In First Out rotation. The XYZ Company Warehouse has an area of 12,312 m2 with floor stack system. An issue currently risen to the warehouse is that the warehouse is currently overcapacity that urges the company to store some of its SKUs to be stored out of the block or even outside the warehouse. The overcapacity causes some problems including accessibility problem, distribution of storage and retrieval activities, and damaged product. In addition, higher throughput items allocation were not placed near to the input/output point so the material handling went through long travel to do its activities and it caused higher total travel distance. This research is focused on determining the warehouse layout to increase warehouse storage capacity and reduce travel distance. The procedure taken to solve the issue is by redesigning warehouse layout through heuristic approach method. The heuristic approach method is comprised by algorithms that can determine dimensions of storage zone and material assignment needed in designing warehouse layout. It is aimed at having some combinations of lane depths and storage zones to increase the warehouse storage capacity by considering the throughput of each SKU. The next step is allocating the items so it can reduce the monthly travel distance. The proposed design layout, shows that warehouse capacity increases by 35.53% or 5,319 pallet positions and monthly travel distance decreases by 24.58% or 216,032 meters. Keywords—heuristic approach, travel distance, warehouse layout.

Abstract

There are so many graduated people from university, and it affects the number of unemployment who are educated and have specific knowledge in some field. In the other side, in our new education curriculum, students have to learn much by their self. The teacher only needs to monitor them. They do not teach at all. Students usually search the review their courses from the internet which are not valid at all because it is usually opinion from the author. Therefore, the educated person is essential to support education in informal learning. In this paper, authors made an innovation of website which can be used to confront educated unemployment with students to share and learn a specific knowledge. By using a website (such as a common website for marketplace), both of unemployment and student can get the benefit, such as knowledge and skill for students, and also profit/income for unemployment. This informal learning process would be held either online or offline, which unemployment as a teacher and students meet to do learning process. This website would provide benefits for all entities which involved in business processes, such as salary from the student for the teacher and profit from sharing with the teacher, promotion on the website, and sponsor of the website for the service provider. Keywords—Education, students, unemployment, website.
