Abstract

Domain Name System (DNS) enables users to access websites via domain names, offering convenient navigation. However, criminals can exploit this convenience to redirect connections from user devices to fake servers for a variety of purposes. A form of attack known as DNS cache poisoning exploits vulnerabilities in the Domain Name System (DNS) to redirect connections from a legitimate website address to an illegitimate one. As a consequence of the fact that users of networked systems are typically unaware that they are accessing an illegitimate site, this attack can have a particularly damaging impact. Such incidents can give rise to several issues, including the theft of data, the distribution of malware, and other security threats. To address this issue, this study employs a firewall in conjunction with DoH (DNS over HTTPS) and the utilization of registered certificates. The Domain Name System over HTTPS (DoH) protocol encrypts DNS requests and responses, preventing third parties (such as attackers who manipulate DNS) from reading or modifying DNS requests. The data employed in this study is derived from a review of existing literature. Furthermore, this study employs the PPDIOO model (Preparation, Planning, Design, Implementation, Operation, and Optimization) for the development of the network. Furthermore, the Mikrotik RB951ui-2Hnd routerboard is employed in this study. The outcome is the implementation of a multifaceted security strategy that effectively mitigates DNS cache poisoning attacks by 100%, while simultaneously reducing CPU usage to 11.5%. This approach enhances the security and reliability of user search activities on the internet.

Abstract

The development of technology and information systems is currently growing very rapidly, most small, medium, and large organizations and companies have used it to support and facilitate their business processes. “Latina Bakery” is one of the business entities that is currently facing significant challenges in facing increasingly competitive market competition. Latina Bakery has implemented SI/TI to support the success of the store's vision and mission, but in its application, many of the systems used are still not effective and efficient. The main challenges faced lie in two fundamental aspects: First, limitations in the utilization of adequate technological infrastructure, and second, not optimal management and utilization of data to support business decision-making. This condition causes difficulties in adapting and competing amid market dynamics that continue to snowball. To overcome these problems, this research implements the Ward and Peppard methodology, a comprehensive approach consisting of: SWOT analysis (Strengths Weaknesses Opportunities, and Threats), Value Chain Analysis, McFarlan Analysis, and Five Forces Model Analysis. The main objective of this research is to produce an in-depth analysis to formulate an Information Systems and Information Technology (IS/TI) strategy aligned with the vision, mission, and business objectives. It can be a recommendation to move away from the business.

Abstract

Sugarcane is a vital crop in Indonesia, serving as the primary raw material for sugar production. Unfortunately, leaf diseases in sugarcane often pose a serious threat, potentially causing significant economic losses. These diseases are typically characterized by leaf morphological changes, making early detection and accurate classification essential to prevent further spread. This study compares three algorithms for identifying sugarcane leaf diseases: K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), Multilayer Perceptron (MLP), and Support Vector Machine (SVM). Each algorithm employs a different approach to recognize patterns and disease characteristics: SVM separates data by identifying the optimal hyperplane, KNN classifies based on the proximity of data to training data, while MLP, as an artificial neural network, can recognize more complex patterns. The deep learning model VGG16 was utilized for feature extraction from sugarcane leaf images to enhance classification accuracy. The dataset used comprises 8,200 images of sugarcane leaves, categorized into four classes: 2,050 images of Cercospora spot gray, 2,050 of common rust, 2,050 of northern blight, and 2,050 of healthy leaves. Each category was further divided into training and testing datasets in an 80:20 ratio, with 6,560 images for training and 1,640 images for testing. The results indicate that the MLP algorithm achieved the best performance, with accuracy, precision, and recall values of 97.4%. This establishes MLP as the most effective choice for classifying sugarcane leaf diseases.

Abstract

Indonesia is rich in diverse traditional culinary heritage, with recipes often passed down orally or as tacit knowledge, making it challenging to preserve and at risk of being lost. This study aims to design a knowledge management system (KMS) for managing, storing, and distributing Indonesian culinary recipes using the SECI model (Socialization, Externalization, Combination, and Internalization). The SECI model was selected for its ability to convert tacit knowledge into explicit knowledge that can be managed and disseminated through information systems. The research method includes needs analysis through literature review, observation, and interviews with culinary community members, along with a design review to understand the characteristics of traditional recipes. The system was developed using JavaScript and the Next.js framework to create a responsive user interface. Testing was conducted using the black-box method to evaluate system performance based on user needs. The results show that the KMS was well-received by users and effectively provided a platform for storing and distributing traditional recipes. This system serves not only as a repository but also as a digital ecosystem supporting the preservation of Indonesian culinary heritage. It is expected that the KMS will be a valuable tool in documenting and disseminating Indonesian culinary knowledge to the wider public, including younger generations and the international community. Further testing is needed to optimize the system for more effective support in preserving Indonesia’s culinary culture.

Abstract

Over the past few decades, technology has advanced at a tremendous pace, especially related to social robotics based on the Internet of Things has significantly influenced many aspects of human life. A concrete example of its application is a robot barista designed to interact and collaborate with humans, creating a new relationship between humans and machines. However, the presence of these robots also poses ethical challenges and professional responsibilities, especially regarding data privacy, security, and social impact. This research seeks to determine and assess the primary challenges robotics engineers face in designing safe and ethical robotics systems. Through a literature study approach that includes collecting, reviewing, and analyzing various relevant scientific sources related to ethical issues in robotics and IoT technology, it was found that robotics engineers must consider aspects of security and personal data protection as well as potential social impacts such as inequality and employment reduction. This research emphasizes the importance of ethics education and the establishment of high professional standards in addition to the need for clear ethical guidelines through cross-sector collaboration. Thus, the development of IoT-based barista robots is expected to not only drive technological progress, but also bring sustainable and responsible benefits to society.

Abstract

In the digital era, efficient data management is crucial for companies as Information Technology facilitates staff tasks and operations. However, some companies still face challenges with manual data management, such as time-consuming and paper-based overtime request forms. PT XYZ still uses manual overtime forms and requires a more efficient system. Therefore, a Web-Based Overtime Application was developed using Laravel, PHP, and MySQL to streamline the entry and storage of employee data and overtime hours. The Waterfall method was used in the design process, encompassing requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance, with data collected through interviews and observations. The research results indicate that this application improves company operations by automating the overtime request and approval process, and by facilitating the management and access to overtime data. Based on an average SUS score of 82, user acceptance falls within the "ACCEPTABLE" and "GOOD" categories. This research successfully produced a web-based overtime application at PT XYZ that meets user needs and enhances the efficiency and effectiveness of overtime management.

Abstract

The skin is the largest organ of the human body and has an important role to protect the internal organs of the human body from direct external interference such as sunlight and scratches from sharp or blunt objects. Without skin, our bodies will not be formed perfectly. Just like other organs of the body, if the skin is not properly cared for, it will cause skin diseases, although skin diseases are not too dangerous in human life, skin diseases can make humans feel uncomfortable. This skin disease has many types that are almost the same, therefore an expert system is needed to find out what type of skin disease we are likely to experience. This application is made web-based. The method used by this expert system is the Forward Chaining method, in this expert system it will show several questions or symptoms experienced, then after the user answers the available questions, the diagnosis results will appear. Based on the design of the creation and implementation of an expert system to diagnose skin diseases using the forward chaining algorithm, it can be concluded that the expert system for diagnosing skin diseases using the forward chaining algorithm can help in diagnosing skin diseases suffered or experienced by someone, this expert system for diagnosing skin diseases is very useful for many people to find out what type of skin disease they are suffering from considering the many types of skin diseases whose symptoms are almost similar, this expert system is very dependent on the ability of experts (doctors) who are the source of knowledge in research on this skin disease, and the expert system designed is web-based, making it easier for users to diagnose their diseases anywhere and anytime.

Abstract

Augmented Reality (AR) applications have experienced significant growth in recent years. Despite this growth, the development methodologies for AR applications remain underexplored in academic research. Most existing approaches rely heavily on the general Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) This gap highlights the need for a more tailored development framework to effectively guide the creation of AR applications. To address this gap, this study proposes a specialized framework for developing AR applications. The framework refines and extends the MDLC methodology by integrating key elements tailored to AR-specific requirements. The proposed framework was tested through an extensive empirical study involving 10 development teams over the course of 2024. Each team utilized the framework to design and build an AR application tailored to their respective domains. The usability of the resulting applications was evaluated using the System Usability Scale (SUS), a widely recognized metric for assessing user experience. The results were highly encouraging, with the average SUS score across all applications exceeding 70%, indicating a "good" level of usability. This outcome demonstrates the effectiveness of the framework in enabling the development of high-quality AR applications that meet user needs.

Abstract

Currently, student speculation on the performance of laboratory assistants varies greatly because there is no definitive data on their performance. Some students think that laboratory assistants do not do their job or speculate otherwise. The purpose of this study is to use a machine learning approach based on the Perceptron model to examine the level of student satisfaction with the services of computer laboratory assistants. Due to its effectiveness in binary classification, the Perceptron model was chosen. Using a questionnaire with two answer categories - “Yes” for satisfied and “No” for dissatisfied - 67 students at UIN SU's Computer Science Study Program provided survey results. Afterwards, the data underwent pre-processing steps such as normalization, numerical coding, and separation into training (80%) and testing (20%) data. Based on the training results, the Perceptron model consistently achieved 86% accuracy in both classes in terms of precision, recall, and F1-score. The strong performance of the model in identifying students' happiness and dissatisfaction is shown by the Confusion Matrix ranking. Both precision and recall were 88% for the “Dissatisfied” class and 83% for the “Satisfied” class. This shows that even with an unequal number of samples across classes, the model can effectively identify patterns in the data. The consistent performance of the model proves the effectiveness of this method in assessing the quality of laboratory assistant services. To improve learning in the laboratory, this research significantly advances the development of machine learning applications. Testing on larger and more varied datasets is recommended for additional validation to ensure the generalizability of the model.

Abstract

PT Indokarya Teknik is a company that operates numerous vehicles requiring regular maintenance to ensure optimal performance. However, the manual scheduling system currently in place often leads to delays, negligence, and inefficiencies in vehicle maintenance management. Therefore, this study aims to design and develop a Web-Based Vehicle Maintenance Scheduling Notification System with WhatsApp Gateway to automate maintenance schedule reminders for users or relevant technicians. The development of this system follows the Waterfall Model, which includes requirement analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The system is built using web-based technology with the Laravel framework and is integrated with a WhatsApp Gateway to send automated notifications to users. System testing is conducted using the Black Box Testing method to ensure that all features function according to the specified design. The results indicate that this system enhances efficiency in managing vehicle maintenance schedules, reduces the risk of missed schedules, and facilitates communication between the company and technicians through real-time notifications. With this system, PT Indokarya Teknik is expected to optimize its vehicle maintenance operations, thereby improving overall operational effectiveness and efficiency.
