Abstract

Academic community activities on campus certainly produce various types of waste, especially paper, plastic bottles, batteries, and various other types of waste. 18% of all criteria Green Campus Criteria according to UI Greenmetric is waste management. Based on the criteria, the campus needs to be focused on the waste management system such as waste segregation, pre-recycling, recycling, organic waste management, and policies on waste management at the university governance to reduce the use of paper and plastic packaging. Technology can be used to improve waste management systems, preparation for recycling waste by crushing it before recycling, collection and transfer of waste to landfill, or organic waste composers around the campus. Various sensors and alarm systems are integrated into waste collection equipment and can be connected through the Internet of Things (IoT) system to be monitored by the authorities. Through the design of a technology-based waste management system, it is hoped that it can reduce waste production for the environment and can increase Green Campus rank which certainly provides positive benefits for the environment, the academic community, and society

Abstract

Peternak puyuh saat ini melakukan penetasan telur tidak lagi melalui pengeraman induk, tetapi menggunakan alat penetas telur. Alat penetas telur adalah suatu alat yang berbentuk ruangan tertutup yang dipanasi dan digunakan untuk mengerami dan menetaskan telurdilengkapi dengan pemanas telur dan sensor suhu sehingga suhu yang terdapat pada alat penetas telur dapat distabilkan.Untuk menetaskan telur puyuh diperlukan suhu ruang sekitar 390  C selama lebih kurang 21 hari.Alat penetas telur puyuh yang ada saat ini hanya mengandalkan sumber listrik dari PLN. Selama proses penetasan sumber listrik untuk alat penetas tidak boleh mati karena akan berdampak gagalnya telur untuk entaskan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang suatu alat penetas telur puyuh dengan menggunakan sistem tenaga listrik berbasis hybrid. Sistem hybrid ini terdiri dari sumber listrik PLN sebagai sumber listrik utama dan energi matahari melaui panel surya sebagai sumber listrik cadangan. Sistem ini bekerja secara otomatis karena diatur menggunakan Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS). Hasil yang didapatkan adalah semua bagian yang terdapat pada sistem hybrid dapat berfungsi dengan baik. Alat ini bisa digunakan oleh peternak telur puyuh untuk menetaskan telur.

Abstract

Kebutuhan akan sistem pengendalian jarak jauh semakin meningkat dimana pergerakan manusia semakin luas dan teknologi dituntut memberikan kemudahan dan kenyamanan. Salah satu usaha untuk memberikan kemudahan dan kenyamanan tersebut adalah melalui pengembangan sistem otomasi pada rumah. Sistem otomasi yang dapat diterapkan pada rumah salah satunya pada pintu garasi. Perkembangan teknologi komunikasi dalam bidang wireless semakin pesat seiring peningkatan kebutuhan akan komunikasi dan informasi dengan mobilitas yang tinggi. Oleh karena itu pada penelitian ini, dibuatlah sistem garasi pintar berbasis mikrokontroler dan jaringan wireless. Pada pembuatan alat ini untuk mengontrol sistem buka tutup pintu pada garasi, teknologi yang digunakan bersifat nirkabel atau wireless, sistem akan diberi wifi module NodeMcu ESP8266 yang nanti terhubung dengan jaringan wifi secara wireless dan dikendalikan oleh smartphone android yang dibuat dengan menggunakan MIT App Inventor, yang dapat dikontrol dari jarak jauh selagi user masih terkoneksi dengan internet, dan dilengkapi dengan sensor Ultrasonic dan sensor Infrared untuk mengetahui jarak dan keberadaan mobil, serta menggunanakan motor DC 12v yang dikontrol menggunakan driver module BTS7960.

Abstract

Solar cell merupakan salah satu energi terbarukan dengan memanfaatkan energi matahari untuk menghasilkan energi listrik. Namun solar cell yang telah terpasang saat sekarang ini masih bersifat statis. Untuk memaksimalkan konversi energi yang dihasilkan panel surya diperlukan actuator, yakni sebuah tuas penggerak dengan tenaga motor DC. Proses pengambilan data dilakukan di Lantai 5 Gedung Praktik bersama Universitas Negeri Padang. Terdapat dua buah panel surya dengan spesifikasi daya yang sama. Dimana salah satunya digunakan sistem tracking dan yang lainya dalam keadaan tetap. Pengambilan data dilakukan tanggal 22 Januari 2020 mulai pukul 08.30 WIB sampai dengan pukul 16.00 WIB. Hasil dari pengujian solar cell rata – rata tegangan tanpa dan dengan tracking sistem yaitu 19,4 volt dan 21,5 volt. Rata-rata arus tanpa dan dengan tracking sistem yaitu 0,58 A dan 1,05 A serta tegangan maksimal tanpa dan dengan tracking sistem yaitu 19,6 V dan 22,1 V. Selisih energi listrik yang dihasilkan dengan tracking sistem dan tanpa tracking sistem yaitu 180,62 Wh dan 361,75 Wh. Dapat disimpulkan solar cell yang terpasang menggunakan tracker menghasilkan daya yang lebih besar dibandingkan tanpa menggunakan tracker.

Abstract

Research on vehicle number plate recognition or Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) is mostly done by researchers to produce an introduction that has high accuracy. Several methods of introduction are carried out such as introduction to edge detection and morphology, relationship analysis between objects, machine learning and deep learning. In this research a K-NN machine learning ANPR system was developed in character recognition. The method of analyzing relationships between objects is used to localize number plates. The system that was developed also added an artificial intelligence to be able to find out the fault of the number plate recognition and fix it based on the position of the character group in the number plate. The ANPR system is designed to be an Embedded system so that it can be implemented to be able to carry out the identification of two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicle license plates. The ANPR system was also developed to be used in the parking management system. In this research the recognized number plates are limited to private number plates in Indonesia. In testing, the system is made capable of recognizing the number plates of two-wheeled vehicles and four-wheeled vehicles on vehicles that have a standard license plate according to Polri regulations, both in the font type and the number plate writing format. The results of vehicle number plate recognition reached an accuracy of 98%.

Abstract

Teacher competence must be increase by carried out continuously, because the success of learning is the responsibility of educators. Technology-based learning will help educators in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era, especially vocational teachers who teach in the productive field (engineering subjects). The problem faced is the inability of teachers to use computers as learning media. The teacher has not been able to utilize software engineering that will help in the process of practical learning, such as NI Multisim and Proteus software in learning electrical circuits and electronic circuits. Therefore, integrated and comprehensive training is needed for teachers to utilize software engineering. The training was attended by 15 teachers who taught on productive subjects (Engineering). From the results of this training it appears that all participants can already use NI Multisim and Proteus software. Based on the questionnaire indicators that have been analyzed it can also be seen that most of the participants are of the view that the implementation of the training has provided profound benefits and is very helpful in improving the participants' quality

Abstract

Motorcycle pedicab is one of the land transportation vehicles that are still widely used by the community, especially for short distances. One of the disadvantages of using a motorcycle pedicab for transportation is the unavailability of standard fare for passengers. In this paper, a taximeter is proposed to determine motorcycle pedicab rates based on distance traveled. The taximeter display in the form of mileage and rate is designed using the Android application and Arduino Uno as data processing. This device is equipped with a hall effect sensor as a reader of wheel rotation and a bluetooth module as the interface between Android and Arduino. In addition, the Android screen also provides a start and stop button to start or stop the calculation of the meter. The experimental results show that this devices have worked in accordance with the objectives, where the android screen has been able to display distance data and pedicab rates according to mileage.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berguna untuk merancang dan membuat program (perangkat lunak) dan hardware (perangkat keras) untuk sterilizer vertikal serta melakukan pengujian proses pemindahan kelapa sawit menggunakan konveyor ke perebusan dengan membuat suatu sistem pengontrolan  sterilizer vertikal kelapa sawit menggunakan Arduino UNO. Arduino UNO mncakup semua yg diperlukan untuk mendukung mikrokontroler, mudah mnyambungkannya ke sebuah komputer dengan sebuah kabel USB atau mensuplainya dengan sebuah adaptor AC ke DC atau menggunakan baterai untuk memulainya. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian diperoleh perancangan kontrol Sterilizer Vertical Kepala Sawit dapat bekerja jumlah sawit yang dibutuhkan untuk membuka pintu penampungan awal (loading ramp) adalah 15 g dengan menggunakan sensor loadcell.

Abstract

One of the advantages of Vocational High School (SMK) is that graduates are ready to work. For this reason, students must be equipped with skill abilities in accordance with existing technological developments. In the last few years, the development of digital technology has been very advanced which has caused Vocational High School to be required to prepare their students to adapt to existing developments. SMKN 1 Painan is one of the productive Vocational Schools that develops new study programs namely Audio Video Engineering (TAV), one of the objectives is to prepare students to have the skills to enter employment. The obstacle faced by SMKN 1 Painan is to follow the development of digital technology, especially in terms of facilities, this is because the TAV study program is still new. Through the creation of logic gate learning media, it is expected to help the obstacles faced by SMKN 1 so that the existing problems can be addressed properly

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the differences in student learning outcomes by applying the flipped classroom and conventional model. This study uses quasi-experiments with state group comparison design which was conducted in grade 10 of Electrical Installation Engineering. The simple random sampling techniques are used to determine the experiment and control class. The data were collected using student performance assessment instruments which were assessed from several aspects such as preparation, process, outcomes, safety, and reporting. There are differences in learning outcomes from grade 10 of Electrical Installation Engineering that applied the flipped classroom learning model and conventional model on the subjects of Basic Electrical and Electronics at Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) Muhammadiyah 1 Padang. The learning outcome of the experimental class higher than the conventional ones. According to statistics, the differences are significant. The uses of flipped classrooms can be applied as an alternative in learning of Basic Electrical and Electronics Subject.
