Abstract

The purpose of designing an illustrated book on the dangers of junk food for children as an educational and interactive media in the delivery of the dangers of junk food meals so that children reduce to avoid consuming junk food foods and prefer to eat healthy foods, vegetables and fruit that is useful for health and for the development and growth of children. This illustrated book was chosen as one of the educational media for children because it presents stories and illustrations of characters that make children enthusiastic to read it, so learning is more fun.The data analysis method in the 5W + 1H technique is (what, where, who, why and how) to find a solution to the problem at hand. Data collection was carried out using interview and documentation methods. Illustration, typography, and layout are designed using visual communication design theory, child psychology, media, books, illustrations, colors, layouts and typography. In addition to designing illustration books as the main media, this design has supporting media such as posters, x-banners, stickers, coloring books, notebooks, tote bags, and food supply boxes.Keywords: Book, Illustration Education, Junk Food, Children

Abstract

The purpose of designing the visual character artbook the saga of Anggun Nan Tongga is for  teenagers to know more about the characterizations in the Anggun Nan Tongga story, as well as cultural promotion so that youth participate in loving their own culture. The lack of media information about Kaba Anggun Nan Tongga makes many teenagers currently not aware of Kaba Anggun Nan Tongga, let alone the character of Anggun Nan Tongga itself.This design uses theories, such as illustration theory, print media (books), visual communication design, layout, color, is the theory used in the visual artbook design of Kaba Anggun Nan Tongga characters. Research and Development (R&D), the research method used to produce the artbook, and test the effectiveness of the Kaba Anggun Nan Tongga artbook itself, using SWOT analysis to obtain data obtained in the design of the artbook.The design output is that artbook which is the main media is also accompanied by supporting media to attract people's attention to the lauching process of Kaba Anggun Nan Tongga's artbook, such as x-banners, t-shirts, stickers, posters, and bookmarks. Abstract

District is one of Hardcore band that have a Melodic Hardcore style from Bukittinggi city. District are the pioneer of Melodic Hardcore genre in Bukittinggi city, made this genre as their characteristic that brought by District. Lyrics from District is containing massage about rebellion and resistance to oppressions. Yet the messages from the lyrics is less delivered, because of the audience have a problem to understand the lyrics.The design of this lyric video is expected can be an effective communication media to delivered contain and message from District song lyrics and suit with low budget also style of Hardcore music.This lyric video will be showing Let’s Revolt lyric from District. Besides showing the lyrics, Motion Graphics will be shown to illustrating to give some better impressions for this lyric video. Abstract

Optik Antokan Lubuk Basung is a business that operates in the field of eyewear services located at Jalan VII of the Padang Baru Impres Market, Lubuk Basung. Optik Antokan was founded in 2010 and is managed by Aan Goechi as the founder and leader until now. Optical Antokan requires a visual identity that includes logos, colors and fonts, as well as the rules in its application, in accordance with the references specified by the designer in the manual as the main media, in order to establish an affirmed identity, improve business image, according to the distinctions and uniqueness provided for Antokan Optics.Optical Identity Visual Design Method used by the author uses the Glass Box method. This design method starts from data collection, interview and observation. Related problems that occur can be known, as well as the discussion of problems that are analyzed using the SWOT theory (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats). The main media used in this visual identity is the Manual Book / BrandGuidelines. In addition to the main media, this visual identity is complemented by supporting media such as stationery sets, paperbags, x-banners, stickers, posters, glasses boxes, lens cleaners, and t-shirts which support to support the use of the main media.Keyword : Visual Identity, Optik Antokan, Media.

Abstract

Micow is one of the shops that provide pure milk in the city of Padang. This business was initiated by Ucok Andi Oktora since October 20, 2015 which is located at Jl. Gajah 08 Air Tawar Barat Padang City. This business already has a good image, but the fundamental problem of the Micow logo is that it does not yet have a strong identity as a brand, and has not yet applied the principles of a good and correct logo design.The purpose of designing the Micow logo redesign is to design a logo by applying good, correct design principles so that later it will present a unique, simple, easy to remember, flexible, fun, communicative, and consistent placement in all types of media that will be used as Micow's attraction itself to be increasingly recognizable.The analytical method used is a SWOT analysis. This design produces a manual book as the main media that contains the design of the logo redesign starting from the moodboard, concepts, grid systems, colors, typography. Supporting media used to support the main media include Business Cards, Envelopes, Letters, Stamps, Posters, X-banners, Packaging, Menu Lists, Stickers, T-shirts, Aprons.Keywords: Redesign, Logo, Micow

Abstract

Zoonosis infographic design (a disease transmitted by dogs and cats) using poster media. The purpose of this infographic design is to educate or increase knowledge and to remind the public of dogs and cats that can transmit Zoonosis. This infographic describes a carrier or animal carrier of disease, mode of transmission, symptoms, treatment and prevention.The design method used is the glass box method and includes the collection of data through Non-Participant observation at the Padang City Health Office to obtain valid data about the disease. Secondary data were obtained from manuals and supporting articles available on the internet. The analytical method used in analyzing data that has been collected is believed to use the 5W + 1H data analysis method. The main media for infographics are posters, and using supporting media: stickers, pins, key chains, tissue boxes, mugs, pencil cases, calendars, flyers and glossary bookmarks.Keywords: Infographics, Zoonosis, posters, rabies

Abstract

The purpose of designing this Liek batik video profile is as a medium of socialization to the public. So that people both inside and outside West Sumatra know the culture and crafts in West Sumatra. The communication media used to socialize and promote liek batik is a video profile in the form of a documentary, which will later tell the history and origins of liek batik in West Sumatra. This liek batik was re-introduced by Wirda Hanim in 1994, located at Jl. Sawahan In Padang. Data collection is done by interview, observation and documentation. Analysis of the data used is the analysis of 5W + 1H (what, who, where, when, why and how). The results of the design as the main media video and supporting media in the form of calendars, mugs, posters, CD covers and labels, opening bumper In / Out, T-shirts, shopping bags.Keywords: Design, Video Profile, Batik Tanah Liek.

Abstract

Sawahlunto City is a tourism city that presents historical tourism of former mining. The city holds a bitter story experienced by prisoners who are employed like slaves called Chain People to dredge coal. The purpose of this design is to produce a design book illustrated by the story of PEOPLE CHAIN in Sawahlunto City as a source of knowledge for high school students and tourists. To create an interesting picture book, the designer uses illustration theory, book design theory, and picture story book theory. The designer conducts research and collects data by observing and studying literature. The data will be used as reference data in making illustrations and text stories. The designer uses the concept of glassbox as a design method.In addition to illustrated story books as the main media, in the design of this final work the authors use supporting media such as e-books, backdrops, posters, bookmarks, notebooks, totebags, brochures and stickers.Keywords : Illustration book, illustration, Orang Rantai , Sawahlunto

Abstract

The design of the user interface page of the mobile application page of the online shop "Mormo  Store" aims to develop and increase sales of Mormo products online so that it can expand the reach of product marketing places outside the city of Padang. Buyers are also made easy to make product purchases without having to come directly to an offline store, so as to save the time and effort of buyers.The glass box method is a method that thinks logically and rationally used in the user interface design of the mobile application page of the online store "Mormo Store". In the process ofsolving problems using 5W + 1H analysis (what, who, where, when, why, how) to find solutions to the problems encountered. In compiling the flow of interactions with the application an observation is made of the user's behavior and desires, then the results of the study and observations are arranged in a layout that is as simple as possible.The main media produced in this design is the user interface application page online store mormo store. To support the main media, supporting media were created, namely motion graphics, x-banners, plastic bags, label packaging, notebooks, tumblers, and acrylic display stands. In order for the resulting design to have good results, a designfeasibility test was carried out on fifteen samples. Design tests conducted include the appearance, convenience, and comfort of the user in using the application. Based on the feasibility test that has been done, it can be concluded that the user interface of the mormo store online store application page is very well judged from the appearance, ease and comfort of the user in operating the application page.Keywords: mobile application, online store, mormo store, user interface

Abstract

Minangkabau custom is a value that governs all social life in Minangkabau. The book on natural Minangkabau culture is a reading that teaches the values of Minangkabau adat. The loss of local content in the 2013 curriculum made the community especially Minang begin to forget the values of this Minangkabau. Therefore, the writer makes a reading material for the Minangkabau natural culture book, which is a re-design of the Minangkabau natural culture book. The design is based on book theory, color, typography e 5W + 1H data analysis technique is (what, when where, who, why and how). In addition to designing the Minangkabau Natural Culture book as the main media, thisdesign has supporting media such as posters, x-banners, stickers, bookmarks, totebags, instagram feeds, and e-books.Keywords: Book, re-design, layout, natural Minangkabau culture
