Abstract

Railway is one of the alternative means of transportation in the city of Padang. At railway crossings there are crossroads, intersections, crossings and intersections between roads for trains by public roads. The railway crossing path for road users is the most dangerous location. Frequent accidents and casualties. According to statistical data from PT. KAI Divre II of West Sumatera, from 2013 to 2015 there were 130 accidents, from the number of accidents is the main cause is the road users are negligent in breaking through the railway crossing gate.Public service advertisements (ILM) are required to inform and warn of the danger of passing through railroad crossings to the public. For that it is necessary to design public service ads in the form of billboards. Billboard design is effective and flexible because it has a large size what is described in this billboard high level of legibility by the public. The method used qualitatively with 5W + 1H analysis.The purpose of designing billboards provides regulatory information and safety of riders at the communicative railway.Keywords: Designing, Billboard, Railway.

Abstract

Nana Rf Shop is a women's clothing store that is devoted to adult teens. Nana Rf Shop is categorized as a women's clothing store that provides a variety of simple casual clothes. At present promotions are carried out only through social media such as Instagram and result in a lack of promotion for new product introductions to consumers. The purpose of Nana Rf Shop loobook fashion design in the form of print media is to provide information and visualization directly about Nana Rf Shop products that are designed in an informative and communicative manner so that the information conveyed can be easily understood easily in order to inspire customers to mix and match fashion and add value to satisfaction customers besides promotion. The method used is a SWOT analysis of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. To meet the problem at hand. The design process starts from documentation, print media, observation, and interviews with the owner of Nana Rf Shop to find out the development of Nana Rf Shop's fashion business that needs to be improved in terms of promotion. Supporting media used to support the main media of this lookbook include member cards, posters, paper bags, hang tags, stickers, key chains.Keywords: Promotion, Lookbook, Fashion

Abstract

Along with the progress of the development of information media and systems in the Digital era  and also soaring tourists in the area around the city of Bukittinggi so many hotels and inns  compete to attract tourists who need accommodation and can enjoy the natural beauty, history,  cuisine and culture. Grand Rocky Hotel has facilities with a four-star standard for a hotel in the Bukittinggi area on some sides there is still a shortage, Rocky Hotel is also equipped with tourist safety facilities It is suitable for tourists who want to enjoy the tourist objects around Bukittinggi. The target is not only domestic tourists but foreign tourists. In the past year, the number of tourists visiting the city of Bukittinggi reaches approximately 500-600 thousand tourists, including 75% of domestic tourists, and 25% of foreign tourists, Grand Rocky Hotel Rooms must be ready to  compete to get tourists who need Hotels.Using analysis and interviews with media promotion  media campaign managers who are interesting to support the promotional content of Grand Rocky Hotel in getting target consumers. The author chose promotion in the form of Audio Visual media, where promotion using Audio Visual was able to bring information and excellence of Grand Rocky  hotels to be accessible on the internet and social media. In addition to promotion in the form of  Audio Visual media as well as several other promotional media, to support the main media  promotion of Grand Rocky hotels, such as posters, flyers, Xbanner, paperbag t shirts, mugs, pins, cd covers, and cd labels.Keywords: Media promotion set, Grand Rocky Hotel video.

Abstract

The city of Padang is the capital of the province of West Sumatra. As a provincial city there are many businesses engaged in services, among the service bureaus in the city of Padang are Newa pelaminan. Newa Pelaminan has been established for 13 years but the promotion carried out has not gone well. Presentation of information about products in Newa Pelaminan is still not well presented.The purpose of this design is to produce a digital catalog of Newa Pelaminan in Padang that is attractively packaged with photos of products from Newa Pelaminan and contains information about contact persons, addresses, and websites that are expected to provide information to clients to contact or visit stores from Newa Aisle.The data analysis method used is SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threat). Data collection begins with observation, interviews and documentation. The design of this digital catalog uses photos of products from Newa Pelaminan, text, colors and layouts that are interesting and understandable. Through the design of this catalog, it is hoped that the Newa Pelaminan business can attract the attention of the consumer audience so that in the future it can reach a wider target market. This design uses the theory of visual communication design, media, color, typography, and layout.This design produces a digital-based catalog containing price packages according to the price determined by the owner. Besides that, it also has a model of wedding, catering, fabric models, balloon, photographer and professional tents. Besides the main media, it is also equipped with several supporting media such as business cards, banners, children's doll hangers, signpost, x-banner, website, and social media.Keywords: Catalog Digital, Newa Pelaminan, Pelaminan in Padang City.

Abstract

The development of small and medium industries is one of the backbone of national economic development. One of the home industry is Rendang telur. Typical food from Jorong Koto Kociak, VII Koto Talago, Guguak, Kab. 50 This city, made of cassava of choice and has a delicious taste and tasty. Rendang Egg Kokoci still do not have a decent and interesting packaging, because the new form of plastic glass plastic. While other Rendang Egg industries already exist that use packaging that attract buyers attention. This final work aims to produce an interesting design design of the typical Rendang Telok Kokoci food package Koto Kociak, Kab.50 Kota. Abstract

The purpose of this design is to explore the historical value and evidence of the heritage of  Kejayaang Padang in the Old City so that people are more familiar with and get a visualization of the conditions of the Old Town of the past and present through photography. The design stage starts  from data collection, data analysis and design. The process of collecting data from observation,  interviews, and documentation. While the process of analyzing data using the 5 W + 1 H. methodThe design of the Padang Kota Lama exotica photobook produced the main media in the form of  photobooks arranged in a simple and elegant design style to be easily understood by the reader.  This design is also supported by several steps including bookmarks, postcards, stickers, posters,  wall clocks, Instagram accounts, and totebags which play a role in supporting the main media and promotional media.

Abstract

The concept of edutaiment board game based on question and answer communication, in the game there are rules that support the interaction patterns among players, that is with the activity of mutual question and answer by means of stringing words to be a question of some game cards. Board of this game will be supported by some supporting media for promotional purposes such as packaging, rulebook, sticker, totebag, t-shirt, mug, x-banner, and social media instagram. Data were collected using the 5W + 1H approach to illustrate the results of the analysis used as the basis or the foundation for the preparation of objectives and strategies in game content creation.Keywords: board game, gadget addiction phenomenon, edutaiment game, social interaction

Abstract

The purpose of this design is the introduction of nature, culture, and character of the people of Alahan Panjang, Solok Regency, which are promoted for publication through visuals in the form of English-based story books for children aged 9-12 years and fostering motivation to read children's interest in English and are expected to help teaching staff in schools and agencies in the method of learning English.The design of this book is through the method (Glass Box), which means rational thinking that objectively and systematically examines things logically, free from thoughts and irrational (irrational) considerations, such as sentiments and tastes. This method seeks to find facts and factual causes that underlie the occurrence of events and then try to find alternative solutions to problems that arise by analyzing 5W + 1H data (what, who, where, when, why and how) to find solutions to the problems encountered.The design of the main media produced a picture book with the title Jaka the Son of Durhaka as well as several supporting media such as posters, x-banners, stickers, totebags, pencil boxes, pins, drink bottles and picture books to support the main media.Key Words : Book, Comic, Language

Abstract

In this instant digital era, Visual Communication Design major in Universitas Negeri Padang  (DKV UNP) still does not have a fast, complete, and easy information delivery medium. Whereas  in addition to students and teaching staff, outside groups such as school students and industry professional also need informations of DKV UNP. So information delivery medium for educational institution such as website, is needed.The DKV UNP website is designed with good UI / UX to have a good layout and flow, so users  will not confused and difficult to find the information needed. Website content is arranged in order and grouping based on the user's profession and information, so that users can easily get the  information. This website is expected to be a profile publication media and presentation DKV that can be used for media announcements to students and staffs, media information for  students, prospective students, and industry professional, as well as archive media for alumni.In the troubleshooting process, 5W + 1H analysis (what, who, where, when, why, how) is used to  find the solution of the problem. In compiling the information retrieval flow, an observation of  user behavior and desires is used, and the results of studies and observations are arranged in a simple layout and do not confuse users. To support the main media, applications, manual books, guide CDs, motion graphics, e-banners, Instagram account feeds, and T-shirts, are made.Keyword : Website, visual communication design, user interface, user experience

Abstract

Hot Pangsit also known as spicy snacks that develop in the Kota Jambi, Hot Pangsit Nyonyor is the first hot pangsit found in Padang. The visual identity is not maximal and still has no brand image or distinctive characteristics, so that the target audience of Hot Pangsit Nyonyor does not know the brand of the product. Hot Pangsit Nyonyor needs a visual branding design in order to enhance the brand image of the product, so that in the future it can reach a wider target market. The purpose of the design is to build brand awareness of Hot Pangsit Nyonyor, products which are expected to have a positive image in the minds of consumers. The method used is Design Thingking with 5W + 1H analysis (what, who, where, when, why and how) to solve the problems of product. The design produced the Manual Book design as the main media, and several supporting media, namely: business cards, seals, envelopes, letters, paper bags, aprons, paper wraps, t-shirts, stickers, posters, x-banners, and banners.Key Words : Visual Branding, Hot Pangsit, Brand
