Abstract

This Inflammation is a defensive response to tissue damage that occurs locally. NSAID (Non Steroid Anti-Inflammatory Drugs) and AIS (Antiinflammatory Steroids) have been used in Indonesia to treat inflammation but have side effects on the body. Purple sweet potato leaf (Ipomoea batatas) is one of the herbal medicines used by the community to treat inflammation. This research is a literature review by collecting information from Google Scholar, PubMed, Scopus, and Garuda. The results showed that the active anti-inflammatory compounds in purple sweet potato leaves were flavonoids. Flavonoids can work as anti-inflammatory compounds by passing through several pathways such as inhibition of cyclooxygenase (COX) and lipoxygenase enzyme activities, inhibition of neutrophil degranulation, inhibition of histamine increase, and inhibition of leukocyte accumulation. Purple sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas) leaves are scientifically proven to have anti-inflammatory activity as evidenced by the presence of compounds that have anti-inflammatory effects and can be developed into products for inflammation.

Abstract

Covid-19 is an infectious disease that affects and infects the respiratory system. From minor respiratory issues like the flu to major ones like pneumonia, lung failure, and even death, Covid-19 can cause a variety of respiratory issues. Close contact and the splash of saliva from an infected individual's talking, coughing, or sneezing can spread Covid-19 from one person to another. Nearly every region of Indonesia has been affected by the Covid-19 illness. To reduce the rate of transmission, the government has set a health protocol policy for daily activities. This can be accomplished by offering health education. Covid-19 and the 5M health regimen, which include utilizing masks, keeping hands, keeping distance, avoiding, and decreasing movement, are two examples of the types of education that can be provided. The purpose of this study was to find out how health education influences changes in students' knowledge and attitudes towards the Covid-19 health protocol. Method: This study is quantitative and uses a pretest-posttest design without a control group as a quasi-experimental approach. With 62 respondents, sequential sampling was the sample technique employed. The Wilcoxon test is the statistical procedure employed. With a significant value of 0.000 (p 0.05) between the pre-test and post-test-1 knowledge variables and a significant value for the pretest attitude variable toward post-test, the results of the various tests using the Wilcoxon test demonstrated that there was a difference in knowledge before and after receiving health education about the Covid-19 protocol. Test-1 is 0.000 (p0.05), indicating that the Covid-19 protocol-related health education had an impact on the attitude variable as well. Conclusion: Students' knowledge and attitudes towards the Covid19 health regimen are influenced by health education.

Abstract

Flavonoids are chemical compounds derived from plants which are a group of secondary metabolites. Flavonoids Flavonoid compounds are polyphenolic compounds that have 15 carbon atoms arranged in a C 6 -C 3 -C 6 configuration, namely two aromatic rings connected by 3 carbon atoms that can or cannot form a third ring. Flavonoids are widely distributed in angiosperms, gymnosperms, and pteridopites. These flavonoids provide physiological and pharmacological effects on living things. The purpose of this study was to identify the flavonoid compounds present in the leaf extract of the blood sambang plant (Excoecaria cochinchinensis L). In this study, a multilevel maceration extraction was used using n-hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol solvents and then the filtrate was evaporated using an evaporator. Positive phytochemical screening results indicated the presence of flavonoids in methanol extract and negative in n-hexane and ethyl acetate extracts. From the methanol extract, TLC was carried out with an eluent ratio of methanol ethyl acetate (8: 2), it was obtained the separation of two stains where one of the stains had the same Rf value as the Rf value of flavonoids, then performed a UV-Vis spectrophotometric analysis resulting in three absorption wavelengths, namely band I (350 nm) and band II (255 nm and 267 nm). the spectrum obtained is a class of flavone compounds.
