Abstract

This study is a quasi experiment that aims to determine whether theachievement and improvement of students' mathematical communicationskills and confidence of students who get the Learning TransactionalReading Strategy is better than the ordinary study reviewed overall andKAM categories. Alternative approach applied is Learning TransactionalReading Strategy. The research method used is quasi experimental methodwith the population of junior high school students in Bandung. While thesample is taken from class VII as much as two classes are randomlyselected from 9 classes. Before doing the research the first test ofprerequisite or Early Mathematical Ability (KAM) is done. At thebeginning and end of the learning the two experimental and control classeswere given a test and attitude questionnaire. The data collection in thisresearch is in the form of test which contains 6 description questions formathematical communication ability and 30 attitude questionnaires ofstudent's self confidence .The score data of each capability was analyzed by descriptive andinferential statistic using the difference test of two averages. Based on theresults of the study, both the results of data analysis and hypothesis testing, the author concludes that the improvement of mathematical communicationskills of students who get the learning transactional reading strategy isbetter than the improvement of students' communication skills learningusing ordinary learning reviewed overall and KAM category is medium. While the self-confidence of students who get the learning transactionalreading strategy is better than the students' self-confidence who getordinary learning reviewed overall and categories of high, medium and lowKAM.

Abstract

This minor thesis aims to determine whether or not a significant influence anatara student interest and student's ability in solving mathematical problems in class VIII MTsN Karangrejo Tulungagung. The method used in this thesis is a qualitative approach - quantitative and descriptive study. Alar analysis used is descriptive analysis and correlation using Spearman correlation. Based on the results of the discussion showed that: (1) the level of interest in learning mathematics eighth grade students MTsN Karangrejo Tulungagung in the medium category, it is shown on the third indicator of interest are two indicators shows the results being, (2) ability of solving math students in both categories, it is shown from the results of the students' work is based on four indicators Polya get a range of values in both categories, (3) while for relations interest in learning and the ability to problem-solving mathematics were analyzed using spearman correlation correlation values 0.414 with significance of 0.000 which indicates that the relationship between the interest and ability to solve problems in mathematics has a moderate correlation

Abstract

This research was a classroom action research that aims to know that theused of geogebra application media could improved the learning outcomesof phytagoras material of VIII.4 grade students at SMP Negeri 12Parepare.The subjects of this research were students of class VIII.4 at JuniorHigh School 12 Parepare which amounted to 20 people. This research wasconducted in two cycles, each of which was three meetings of the learningprocess and one meeting in conducted the result of learning test ofphytagoras material. The data collection techniques used in this researchwere test techniques and observation techniques.Based on the results of theresearch and discussion for two cycles, it can be concluded that the resultsof learning materials phytagoras on students of class VIII.4 SMP Negeri 12Parepare increased from cycle I to cycle II. This was indicated by: (1)Average score of learning result of phytagoras material of student that was77,65 in cycle I increase to 91,54 in cycle II. (2) The achievement ofstudents' learning mastery from cycle I was 70% increased to 100% in cycleII, or completely classical. (3) The increased of percentage of studentactivity average in learning process that was 43,33% in cycle I become53,33% in cycle II.

Abstract

The students’ low ability in absorbing the information they got in thelearning activity. Another factor was students’ self-concept which not quitegood. Students’ self-concept can be declared through their selfunderstanding, as well as their self-confidence toward their ability to solvetheir assignment or problem. This study was aimed to investigate the effectof learning style toward the mathematical creative thinking ability, toinvestigate the effect of self-concept toward mathematical creative thinkingability, and to investigate the effect of learning style and self-concept towardmathematical creative thinking ability. This study was one of the ex-postfacto with descriptive approach. Based on the aim of this study, this studyused regression analysis technique in the form of simple analysis regressionand double analysis regression. The result of this study showed that therewas an effect of learning style toward mathematical creative thinking ability, there was an effect of self-concept toward mathematical creative thinkingability, and there was an effect of learning style and self-concept towardmathematical creative thinking ability

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the students’ mathematicalcommunication in junior high school verbally as well as written by means theapproach of SAVI. This research uses qualitative approach with descriptiveresearch type. The subjects of this study totally 31 students of junior highschool on a class VIII, while the object is the students’ mathematicalcommunication, verbal as well as written using the approach of SAVI. Theinstrument used in this study are observation and test sheets. The data will beanalyzed using three plots, namely: data reduction, data presentations andsummarizing. The result of this study shows that students’ verbalcommunication in mathematics by means the approach of SAVI is in goodcategory. Students can finely declare the examples, explain mathematicsrepresentations, give questions and answers, declare the situation of aproblem in mathematical model, discuss a problem, conclude the result ofthe discussion and make summary related to the subject. The writtenmathematical communication of students is also in good category. Studentscan do well in writing mathematical ideas and representations, findingimportant points, rewriting the test in mathematical model, finishing theproblem and wraiting the summary related to the subject.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the correlation between memorizingQur‘an and mathematics learning achievement. It is a quantitative researchusing linear regression. The sample was taken by purpose sampling technicand an elementary school in Sragen was chosen. The data source was adocument of the mathematics subject mark and the number surahmemorized. The result shows that there is a correlation between memorizingQur‘an and mathematics learning achievement. The regression linear modelwas able to be built. The coefficient of regression is 1.024. This shows thatmemorizing one surah of Qur‘an more would make the mathematicslearning achievement increases at 1.024 point. The coefficient ofdetermination is 0.365. The conclusion is that memorizing Qur‘an hascontribution to mathematics learning achievement This electronic documentis a ―live‖ template and already defines the components of your paper [title, text, heads, etc.] in its style sheet.

Abstract

The goal of the research to describe of development of card media with scientificapproach on mathematics lesson, and show the practical and effectivity of cardmedia with scientific approach. The research's model use Borg and Gall model. The steps of the research are : analyze of potential and problem, the collect ofdata, product design, design validation and revision of design. Trying of test wasconducted to know the effectivity of card media. The instrument use observationsheet, questionnaire, and observation sheet of test's trying. The design of validation'sresult show that media is valid and it can apply on the teaching learning. Theresult of test's trying show that card media is practical to use as mathematicslearning's media. Beside that, the student classical of total's percentage after do thetest show that media is effective to use as teaching learning.
