Abstract

Floating dock is one of the places for the repair of ship. It is a building that float on the sea, and has the ability to raise the vessel with longitudinal or transverse slope sizeable. It is needed a stable balance during the docking operation. In the implementation of docking the vessel must pay attention to the security elements of material and personnel. Should be avoided for slope occurring and ensuring the security and safety of the ship docking process. Abstract

PT. X is one of the companies engaged in the field of an aircraft-maintenance and repairing services. PT. X classifies the aircraft spare parts into three groups namely rotable, repairable, and expandable. PT. X has a problem of having shortage inventory of the expandable spare part with 9 unit total of shortage in 2016. If this problem occurs continuously, it can increase the total inventory cost. Therefore, this study discusses the improvement of the inventory control of the expandable spare parts.The first phase of this study is forecasting the existing spare parts of the A Classes. Then, we determine the maximum inventory and the average inventory in warehouse using min-max method. After that, we determine the inventory level which covers ordering period (T), maximum inventory (R) and the average inventory in warehouse using Periodic Review Models. The final phase of this study is comparing the total inventory cost between Periodic Review Models and Min-Max method.The Classification with ABC method result 5 spare parts from A Class with a percentage of total items are 12.5% from 40 total item. Meanwhile, the total value of A Class amounted to 71.80% that had Rp 132,285,644.22 from the total price Rp 184,218,274.36. Periodic Review Models result an ordering period (T) and maximum inventory (R) which is optimal and can minimizes shortage 0 unit from 6 unit in A Class. With this decreased of shortage, it can minimizes the total inventory cost from the company. The comparative results between the total inventory cost using Periodic Review Models and Min-Max Method is Periodic Review Models has a smaller total inventory cost than Min-max Method with a total saving of inventory cost amounted Rp 81,121,836.62 and the percentage savings of 39.25%.

Abstract

Hydroelectric Power Plants (PLTA) in Indonesia have been around since 1926, and are still operating today. The Indonesian government represented by PT. PLN (State Electricity Company) will continue to maintain, operate and maintain old hydropower plants. So far, the development and development of PLTMH in Indonesia still uses consultants / contractors and its manufacturing is from overseas, even components (spare parts) are also still dependent on the technology producers themselves, the majority of which are foreign countries. Imports cannot be avoided, this results in us being vulnerable to several things, fluctuations in foreign exchange rates, and dependence on foreign producers. But with the increasing understanding of national resilience, especially in terms of national industrial independence, several national companies began to carry out reconstruction and fabrication for hydroelectric power plants. This is encouraging the author to learn to know, understand, how to plan the main parts of the Kaplan Turbine which include: runner, shaft, spiral casing, stacker, draft tube. In this plan the author focuses on calculating the main dimensions of the Kaplan Turbine. From the results of the design and calculation, the appropriate type of turbine is Kaplan Turbine as an electric generator drive in Plumbungan PLTM with installed power of 1.2 MW, maximum head of 21.16 meters and water discharge requirement of 7.68 m3 / sec. Plumbungan PLTM installation consists of turbines, turbine supporting equipment, and turbine operation aids. The turbine installation component consists of: suction pipe (penstock), turbine house (spiral casing), runner, runner shaft, shaft support bearing and draft tube.

Abstract

XYZ Company is currently planning the production machining line for crank case new model sports type of 2200 units / day. There are two alternative investment plan that is manual and automation to get the best alternative in terms of finance .Analysis tool used is the Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR) and Payback Period (PBP) as the basis for determining which alternative is chosen. Sensitivity analysis is used to determine which is the most sensitive variable to the NPV .Both alternatives feasible to be realized, but the automation system was chosen because of the analysis results is greater than the value of the manual system with an IRR of 57.52% (IRR > MARR), which MARR 7.88% and a NPV of USD 299 002 634 271 (NPV > 0), and payback of 1 years for 0,27 month, which is faster than the economic life of the machine that 8 years. Total interest rate is the most sensitive factor in changing the NPV

Abstract

The Covid 19 pandemic has an impact on industry in Indonesia. One of the industries affected by Covid 19 is the coffee shop industry. The existence of the Covid 19 pandemic caused uncertainty in the sale of coffee products which caused the coffee shop to have difficulty determining raw materials for the next period. To overcome this problem, forecasting is needed to determine the raw material needs in the form of coffee beans. This study aims to predict the number of best-selling products in "Kopi Titik" coffee. Namely coffee milk, Americano and Capuccino so that the company can get an idea of the number of product sales in the coming period. In addition, companies can also place orders with suppliers so that the raw material needs to fulfill best seller products can be met. The method used in this research is quantitative forecasting, that is forecasting that uses past data to determine future needs. The results obtained from this study are the best seller coffee sales pattern at the Point Coffee Cafe, namely a trend pattern which then uses the double exponential smoothing method with one parameter (Des Brown) and two parameter (Des Holt) approaches; MAPE from the forecast results is 0.268285274% for milk coffee, 0.36874754% for americano and 0.389056107% for cappuccino. The forecast results for the next 5 months are 3498 cups with details of 1920 cups of milk coffee, 754 glasses of americano and 824 cups of cappuccino.

Abstract

Steam power plant is a power plant which use coal as fuel to heating the water into superheated steam. The standard of efficient or not for a power plant can be seen from the value of plant heat rate. Plant heat rate is amount of energy required to generate one kWh electricity. The smallest of that is the best power plant. In general, the value of plant heat rate has increased than commisioning test after the power plant operated continously. The method used in the calculation of the steam power plant is energy balance method. Energy balance calculation method used by the standard of the American Society of Engineers Mechanichal Performance Test Code (ASME PTC). The value of plant heat rate is influenced by the value of turbine heat rate and boiler efficiency from steam power plant. Turbine heat rate is the required energy turbines obtained from heat transfer process to generate one kWh electricity, while boiler efficiency is an indicator from boiler performance of steam power plant by comparing the outputs and inputs. After calculation of plant heat rate at actual condition, the value of plant heat rate has increased than commisioning. The increrase of plant heat rate value is due to more losses which result degradation performance on the main components of the unis, such as : turbine, boiler, air heater and condenser. Therefore necessary corrective maintenance when first year inspection, so that the steam power plant can be re-optimal performance as at commisioning test.

Abstract

Plastic deformation is a permanent deformation that occurs in steel, even though the load causing the deformation is removed. It is widely used to change the shape of steel permanently without adding or reducing the chemical composition of the steel. This permanent change in shape is followed by a change in the shape or phase of the microstructure of the steel. Several types of loading on plastic deformation are Pull (drawing), Stamping and Curling, which are widely used to change the shape of a plate to a curve or a circle.

Abstract

Kotoran ternak dapat dimanfaatkan untuk sesuatu yang lebih berharga seperti pupuk organik dan energi alternatif. Kotoran ternak termasuk kotoran sapi dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pembuatan briket. Pembriketan merupakan salah satu solusi dalam pemanfaatan kotoran ternak. Untuk membuat briket diperlukan alat pencetak manual yang dapat dioperasikan oleh satu orang. Penelitian dimulai dengan perancangan alat menggunakan Software Autodesk Invertor Profesional 2015. Tujuan perancangan ini supaya dihasilkan alat pencetak briket yang praktis dan sederhana namun tetap kuat menopang daya tekan operator. Alat pencetak briket ini memiliki bentuk yang simple dan mudah dipindah dan tidak memakan banyak tempat. Setelah alat cetak briket selesai dirancang kemudian dilanjutkan pada tahap pembuatan alat tersebut.  Dimulai dari memotong bahan, mengelas kemudian merakit semua bagian-bagian. Kemudian dilakukan pengujian fungsional dan dilanjutkan ke proses pembuatan briket. Alat cetak briket manual ini dapat menghasilkan 4 buah briket silinder dengan waktu 25 detik/cetakan dan dapat menghasilkan 28,48 kg briket per jam. Kadar air pada briket-briket tersebut adalah sebesar 25,4%. Selain itu alat pencetak briket ini memiliki dimensi ukuran tinggi 40 cm panjang 25 cm dan lebar 15 cm, dengan begitu alat ini mudah di pindah-pindah.

Abstract

Aluminium is a material commonly used in human activity. On operating condition, people expect that aluminium has mechanical properties such as hardness. The mechanical properties can be improved by doing some treatment processes, such as by heat treatment. Al alloys 6063 has a smaller strength than other alloys, but very lithe. Al alloys 6063 also has very good ability to forging, and can be strengthened by heat treatment after processing. AI alloys 6063 contains chemical compotition 98.7% Al, 0.530% Si and 0.532% Mg. AI alloys 6063 common used for frame construction, engine piston, cylinder head combustion engine, bicycle parts, etc, because alloys have excellent corrosion resistance properties than the other heated aluminium. In this research, Al 6063 will be heated on 530 ° C with variation holding time from 30 minutes to 60 minutes and then cooled by fresh air. Next, observing microstructure. Finally, from the research results found Al dendrite structure and spread particle of Si and the formation of particle enlargment. Heat treatment of Al 6063 doesn’t have big impact, heating process should be done with variation holding time over 60 minutes. Longer heating process will give higher hardness value or better.

Abstract

The internet of things technology has become one technology that plays a role in the industrial revolution 4.0. Not only limited to the data communication between devices over internet protocol communication data networks, but on the IoT device is also need the proper interface to visualize the sensor data which has received by the server node, and with that result, the user can understand easily and get insight from those data which has an exchange or communicate each other on the system. In the previous research by Yuliantoro, et. al., the IoT device was designed only to communicate to other devices, where the web server as a server node was designed to receive the sensor data. The design of the visualize system in this research, designed by the PHP script and web server which is connected to the NodeMCU in a wireless local area network or WLAN. The sensor data from NodeMCU sent to the server, then the result will be shown visually by the website interface. Based on the results of this study, the visualized data has been shown the full sensor data, with the delay is following the delay of the NodeMCU, 60 seconds.
