Abstract

PT. ABC is a company engaged in the plastic manufacturing industry that produces a wide range of products, from automotive plastics, cosmetic plastics, houseware plastics, health plastics to plastics for pharmaceutical purposes. Meeting customer needs in a timely manner is necessary so that customers have satisfaction with company services. The problems experienced by PT ABC. is the arrangement in scheduling automatic product delivery to customers. This research is aimed at using the Shipping Opertaion Diagram method in determining the hours of departure and arrival of trucks by considering the pulling time of late delivery and visualizing delivery information to make it right on target. The results of this study are expected to be able to adjust the departure time for delivery of goods based on product storage.

Abstract

The process of distributing blood bags by the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) DKI Jakarta uses route selection preferences by ambulance drivers. Basically, this routing problem can impact other aspects such as additional costs, distribution time, fuel use, carbon emissions, and others, so this research needs to propose the best route to minimize travel distance. There are several Hospital Blood Banks (BDRS) in Jakarta that do not receive blood bags at the right time. As an organization authorized to provide blood bag supply, the PMI must distribute blood bag using the 7R concept (Right Time, Right Place, Right Quantity, Right Quality, Right Cost, Right Condition, and Right People). The PMI also has to consider that blood bags are classified as perishable items that need to require fast and precise handling. Therefore, it is necessary to optimize the blood distribution by minimizing travel distance. The optimization model used is the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) with AMPL software comparing with the Nearest Neighbor (NN) algorithm. After 4 hours of running the trial, this research has revealed that AMPL software gives the best combination of travel distance than the Nearest Neighbor algorithm, with the differences being approximately 11.52 km.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Inaportnet on the effectiveness of ship entry and exit permits at PT Oremus Bahari Mandiri Surabaya. Data collection was carried out at PT Oremus Bahari Mandiri Surabaya in June 2019 by means of observation, study documentation, and distributing questionnaires. The collected data was processed using simple linear regression analysis techniques, validity test, reliability test, and coefficient of determination. The results showed that Inaportnet at PT Oremus Bahari Mandiri Surabaya has been running well with an R2 value of 0.804 or 80.4% Inaportnet has an effect on the effectiveness of Clearance in/out Ships at PT Oremus Bahari Mandiri Surabaya.

Abstract

Umbul Asem village is a coastal area has a fairly high potential, especially the farming of green mussels. However, the prospect of green mussel farming which is quite large is still not realized by all fishermen so it is necessary to conduct research to determine the green mussel supply chain and see what opportunities from its business so that it can be developed. This is a descriptive research which is conducted in field and desk research. The results indicate the green mussel supply chain starts from farmers to distributors then to retailers and to end consumers, while supply chain players manage relationships between supply chain from upstream to downstream and vice versa well. Some of the green mussel business opportunities that are visible include selecting the Longline method to minimize costs and increase profits also suitable for high wave waters, farming is simple and does not require special treatment, lots of green mussel seeds are available in the waters, the profit from one longline is around Rp. 691,667, the location is close to PPI Lempasing (3 km in 8 minutes). In addition to developing the green mussel business, it is necessary to conduct a study that is in line with the government's efforts in formulating a strategy for developing the fishing industry in Bandar Lampung.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how big the influence of the application of the Class- based Storage Method on the Improvement of Utilities in the Waste Warehouse in CV. Bachtiar Jaya Plastic. By applying the Class-Based Storage method, the benefits in the warehouse can be more optimal, the speed in the storage process and the accuracy in managing the warehouse to meet consumer needs. The research methodology used is descriptive quantitative research method, with samples in this study as many as 30 performances using the Non Probability Sampling Technique, namely Saturated Sampling. The results of this study indicate that Class-Based Storage has an effect on Warehouse Utility. based on the results of the t-test obtained the value of t-count > t-table (5,282>2,048). It can be concluded that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, or there is an influence between the application of the Class Based Storage Method on increasing the utility in the warehouse.

Abstract

In material sourcing, one of the procurement processes that should be completed before evaluating and selecting the vendor is making an Owner Estimate (OE). The most common way to arrange an OE is by making Data Inquiry, where the arranger asks for a certain product’s price from a list of providers or vendors. However, this method does not describe in detail how the price of the product is constructed, so the company, which is doing the procurement process, tends to set a higher OE. To reduce this risk, another method to determine OE is introduced. This method applies a Cost Structure method to calculate production and transportation costs, the expenses a vendor should cover when manufacturing the products. Using a total of 20 scenarios that varied the percentage of profits, the increase in carbon steel plate costs, and the overhead costs, using Cost Structure Method can lower the Owner Estimate between 0.51% to 24.46%. The last scenario with 20% increase in profit, 20% increase in carbon steel plate cost and 20% increase in the overhead cost resulted to -2.55% reduce of Owner Estimate. This new method is proven effective as an alternative way to arrange OE for similar material.

Abstract

Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) aims to maintain and improve the health and safety of the employees. Low levels of workplace safety may result in significant effects on the health of the employees. This research intends to use the HIRARC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control) technique to identify the likely hazards and assess the potential accident or financial loss that the company could incur. A case study of the warehouse of PT Vale Indonesia Tbk, one of the leading mining companies in Indonesia, is used to evaluate the effectiveness of the method. The results show that there are multiple classifications of the level of risk that can be encountered in the warehouse’s operational activities, including extreme, high, moderate and low level. Ultimately, this research proposes a series of improvement recommendations to minimize the occurrence of risks and hazards.
